  1. I'm on the fence about this one too. But after seeing McCracken County play Friday against BG, I think I pick McCracken. They are at home, they play hard. They seemed to be pretty well coached. They have a pretty good d-line. I thought their QBs were decent if they could some help from their receivers. Plus I am pulling for them. So I am going with McCracken here.
  2. I just got back to BG from Paducah. I would probably disagree with most of this statement.I thought McCracken showed up to play. They played hard and showed they could have some success. They scored on their first two possessions, they moved the ball fairly well up and down the field for a lot during the game. BG caused most of those turnovers, they didn't just happen. BG's defense is great at doing that. They are coached and taught to do that. This game should have been a running clock game. BG played a very sloppy second offensively. It was the worst second halfthey had played all year by far. I'm not sure what the deal was. I would like to say McCracken County has a good team. They came to play, they played hard, but BG was just too much for them from to to bottom. I will say I was impressed with their kids, they seemed to be class acts, helping players up,tapping them on the helmet after a good play, no cheap shots. I was also impressed with their facility. It was top notch for sure. The fans seemed like good people, I really enjoyed the trip up. Now on a side note there was one official that I feel needs to be investigated for bias and unfair penalty calling. This one official did some unbelievable things, stuff I've never seen before, the entire game. I really feel the tape should be sent in for evaluation and this particular official fired.
  3. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that BG has had 8 running clocks this year out of 9 games so far. The only one not a running clock was St. X. Some of those running clocks happened in the first and second quarter.
  4. Really looking forward to this game. It's been a brutal last month or so for BG fans with Grayson County, Barren County, a bye week and Greenwood being the latest on the schedule. I mean Greenwood's got a nice little team, but pretty one dimensional so pretty easy to stop if you have the talent. For me, it's hard to judge exactly what McCracken has because of the schedule. I hope they put up a decent fight to give BG a challenge heading into the playoffs. I have a feeling that BG will get a running clock though at some point in this game. I will be making the trip over from BG so I am looking forward seeing McCracken facilities.
  5. Payne was on fire again tonight. What a fantastic performance. I was surprised that we weren't able to run the ball a little better than we did. But we had no problem in the passing the game. Central's rushing attack gave us problems all night long a I thought too, but BG came up with the big stops and plays to keep them out of the end zone.
  6. There are teams now that compete with BG in 5A. Pulaski, Graves, Highlands are a few that come to mind. BG is tough and in many years are right at the top, but there are teams that are very competitive with BG. Someone on here mentioned South Warren. While they have a solid team, they are still the biggest frauds in Kentucky High School sports. Until they play in the class they are supposed to AND have consistent success, I will continue to believe this. But with that area growing like it is, they will continue to bring in a lot good players. And I do not believe they will be in 5A very long anyway. It's my understanding they pretty much have the numbers to be in 6A right now and that area just continues to grow rapidly. It will be interesting to see how the county school board finally decides to do the redrawing of the district lines, that could hurt South Warren very badly. They've been putting it off for a couple of years because so many people are worried about it. Although they may still let in system players move between schools. I too am nervous what will happen once Coach Wallace decides to leave. I hope it won't be for a long time, but he will eventually. I just hope it is years from now.
  7. Well these ranking certainly are not what I expected. It's really not that big of deal, but for discussion sakes it's interesting. Some things that stood out to me. Greenwood has a lower number than South Warren. Bowling Green is 4th. Simon Kenton and McCracken ranked above BG doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. BG overall number is a little too. Look how close they are with some other schools, especially though in lower classes. I don't get it.
  8. I don't know what in the world they were doing going for 2 at that point. Maybe they had a reason, but with all that momentum and shutting out Greenwood in the second half, you gotta think South Warren wins that game if it goes into overtime. I don't know, maybe there was a reason.
  9. Purples looked good tonight. St. X was a tough test, but Bowling Green really did well I thought. The defense I thought stepped up and did a better job than I thought they would against this St. X team. I did hear before the game that St .X starting runningback was out due to suspension. This was some St. X folks who told me this, so don't know if it was accurate or not and not sure how bad it hurt the Tigers if true.
  10. 100% correct. And they may be really good and they might even be able to sustain the success, but as far as I am concerned until they actually start playing teams in the class they are should be and actually play some decent teams.....they are the most fraudulent team in the state
  11. That 2011 game!!! I still can't believe what I saw. That almost takes effort to lose that game.
  12. Wow.....what an innovator you are. I don't think I've ever heard someone make a comment like that before. You are brilliant, I mean it. Get Zanies Comedy Club on the line. In all seriousness that's a ridiculous statement that doesn't even need to be addressed.
  13. Well arguable is the correct term of course. Christian County has a great team no doubt. And when you look at the common opponents, it looks pretty even, if you can even gauge anything by that. But it is all we have to go on. But the Purples have to first take of business tonight before they need to worry about anybody else. And they don't give these things away they have to be earned. Barren County will come ready to play. If BG plays well they should win, but they are already down a big man. They gotta come focused and IMO play better than they did last night.
  14. Well said. And I think you are right. DG kind of alluded to this when he said they weren't going to appeal it. It's pretty sad because there is virtually no recourse for the losing team, but they can cause trouble for the other team to carry over.
  15. It doesn't sound like they are going to appeal from what DG said in the press conference.
  16. I hope they appeal. There is no doubt who started it and escalated it. It's shame a team losing toward the end of the game can do that because they aren't the ones who really suffer. Got to try to stay composed and walk away, but it's hard when got you surrounded and doing stuff like that. Then two or three guys basically throw you into the bench. Russell County should have had about 3 or 4 guys thrown out. Not that it really mattered, because they won't be playing tomorrow. They even had a guy run in from the other side of court into the group. I guess if you try to protect yourself or your teammate you run the risk of getting thrown out. Apparently the refs used replay, which may be against the rules? I'm not really sure on that one. I just hate it for a team who will be moving forward to lose a player because some payers on another team can't handle losing.
  17. I played with BG the years Quinten and Robert Played! Robert was a year younger.
  18. I get what you are saying, but I love that regular season game. It's got a lot of history and it a very competitive game most of the time. Going on the road to either place can really help you regardless if you win or not. Plus, BG has such a hard time getting teams to play them being able to have a usually good team like Owensboro on the schedule is really good for both teams IMO.
  19. Good, hard, competitive game. BG just had too much speed, depth, athletes and too well coached. They grunted it out and found ways to make plays. The punt return TD was huge. I didn't feel BG played its best game offensively, seemed like they could move the ball, but would come up short in finishing it off. Pulaski defense was solid. BG defense brought the attitude again tonight. Really played tough. I thought the officials were pretty one sided, especially in second half. Two BG touchdowns called back, hit us with a personal foul on a hit on a receiver which put them in a position to score, but they had similar hits on the BG receivers several times with no calls. So i didn't care for the officiating this game. Congrats to coach Wallace, the assistants and the players. Great job again this year, it's been amazing to watch.
  20. I'll be there. I went over to the high school and got my ticket yesterday.
  21. The teams are selling tickets at the schools for $10. Would that get you into both games on Saturday? I would think it would because I don't see how they could clear everyone out and then file everyone back in with the short amount of time between games.
