  1. What a great atmosphere. Packed house and the folks working the stadium were very nice and friendly to visitors. Now onto the game. Bowling Green defense is the story here. They played their best game of the year by far IMO. They finally played with some attitude and aggression. Those goalline stops were amazing. I was surprised at just how one dimensional Owensboro offense was. I knew they were a running team, but my goodness. If they couldn't gain yardage up the middle, they didn't have anything else. Owensboro coaches lack of making any adjustments also surprised me. They made pretty much none, their playbook was extremely thin. When they did tried to throw they ran the same passing plays, two of the same play were picked off. I was also shocked at the conservative play calling on the goaline for them at some point I would thought they would have figured out running staright up the middle wasn;t working and do a play action or something. Nope. Stuffed time and time again, which resulted in two fieldgoals and failed fourth down. I couldn't believe they decided to even kick fieldgoals that close. Bg's offense looked like it struggled at times and didn't play its best game. Owensboro defense did a decent job, especially up front, but BG just had too much talent and speed. I also thought it was a great call for Bg to go for it on the fourth and one play with about 7 minutes or so to go in the game. They were playing to win the game and put it away. now on to Fern Creek. Don't know much about them, but our defense needs to bring the attitude back and I think our offense needs to get focused and bring the A game.
  2. Well the day is finally here! Departure time in approx. 9.5 hours.
  3. This will not be a game. South will dominate. Spartans win 42-7.
  4. I think this is going to be a close game. It's the late in the playoffs and it's on the road at Owensboro, one of the toughest environments to play in in the playoffs. Purples can't turn the ball over, have a bunch of penalties and will probably need to score one or two more touchdowns than they actually will need at that place. I see BG winning 28-21, something like that. I think it will be 7 or less points.
  5. I look for BG to win this fairly easily. Although you never know, it's high school and the playoffs. I can see CC scoring between 14-21 points on this BG defense, although CC strength on offense plays right in the hands of the strength of the BG defense. BG offense as long as it is clicking should be able to score. I see BG 35-14, 42-14 something like that. Just hope for no injuries.
  6. South Warren is pretty good and 4A is soooo bad, I don't think there is a team that can beat them. As long as South Warren shows up to play, I can't see them losing.
  7. South Warren has a good team and with 4A being so weak, as long as they play well they will run the table. Even if they have a bad game, I don't see any team in that class being able to beat them. Maybe if they have a bad game in the state title game they could lose that, but I fully expect them to run the table.
  8. I would add in some extra praise for Bowling Green's field goal kicker. He has done a great job this year and I actually feel like he could hit a big kick should we need him too. Should both teams make it that far, that Owensboro match-up could be a heck of a game. And I believe it would be played at Owensboro, correct? If so, that is a tough place to play.
  9. Good win for the Purples. I thought they looked good. They had a few dropped balls, but I am glad they played well heading into the playoffs. Whoever said BG would dominant this game was right because they did.
  10. I have no idea what is going to happen. Especially since I haven't seen McCracken play and there is also the playoff factor in play here. How much do these teams actually care about this game? I do see McCracken had 26 points scored on them by a 4-5 Muhlenberg County. Had 35 points put up on them by a 3-6 Warren Central team. And when I look at their schedule, even though they beat a pretty good Mayfield team, I felt a lot better about the Purples coming out victorious. Looking forward to a fun game tonight.
  11. I will be there for sure. And it looks like Friday will be between rain storms so hopefully it will be a good night.
  12. I am really looking forward to this game. I think BG has to be at least favored, but McCracken looks pretty tough. Though I have not seem them play. Bowling Green can't have a first half defensively like they did last week against Greenwood. Should be a tough a test and great game to head into the playoffs with. I'm looking forward to Friday night!
  13. Not to relive the Blackmon game, but I was there too. I've never see anything like it. I told some of the coaching staff a few days later I wouldn't be traveling to next year's game at Blackmon because I didn't want to deal with the hassle, possible harassment or worse. I have never seen anything like that in any of the hundreds of games I have been to. That entire night was nuts from pregame to walking off the field. I'm pretty sure their coach got fired after the following season for something shady too. It was nuts that's for sure.
  14. Before telling someone to check their facts, you might want to check your grammar and punctuation. And pretty much your entire statement is not correct.
  15. This is still going on?? Look the bottom line is South Warren was offered multiple dates to play BG, they declined for whatever reason. The teams don't have to play, they have the right to turn down playing BG. That's fine. Just what irks me is members of a fan base of probably what should be a 5A or 6A school playing in 4A the year after all the big boys left acting all arrogant like BG (Who will play the likes of Trinity, St. X, Lexington Catholic, McCallie, etc) was scared to play them which is flat out not true.
  16. Prediction............"PAINNNNNNN" 58-0 BG. Running clock first half.
  17. I was at the game and WC got down in the redzone two or three times. Now we were able to stop them, but they were close to scoring a couple. We jumped out to a lead and I just felt like we coasted. We just have seemed to lack that killer instinct and ability to bury teams. And no offense to Warren Central but they aren't very good this year at all. That game should have been a running clock and probably a running clock in the first half. It doesn't matter now, but in playoffs the ability to finish off teams can cost you.
  18. Bowling Green should win this game 28-7, 35-7 something like that. I don't think this game will present much of a problem to them. BG didn't look all that good against Warren Central last week, but were able to get the job done fairly solidly. I will be at the game Friday night and those coming up remember it is a 6:30 pm CENTRAL TIME kick.
  19. Well I was at that game. I can tell you first hand St. X had BG outmatched up from by a mile and with depth of junior and seniors subbing in. That won't be the case with Owensboro. Being as outmatched as Bg was, Payne still threw for 316 yards. While BG is a little small up front and young, Owensboro is not St. X.
  20. Actually was I at the St. X/BG. And I have seen Owensboro play. Which is why I am dumbfounded Owensboro is ranked above BG and Highlands. But I guess we will see Friday night. Owensboro is not St. X. BG by 17.
  21. I honestly don't get the hype around Owensboro. I guess it really doesn't matter since BG and Owensboro play this week, but I watched Owensboro play against Warren Central and I was not impressed. I just didn't think they look very good. BG should have no problem with them if BG plays well.
  22. I cannot wait for this game. Bowling Green has looked good, especially considering the new QB and the young O-Line and D-Line. This will be a much tougher test than the previous two weeks for the Purples. I don't know what St. X has, but I have a feeling BG's defense will have some problems up front. Because of the youth, I lean St. X on this one. Bowling Green has beaten them, what three years in a row?? Going into St. X with a young team could be like walking into a hornets nest. Can't wait for Friday.
