  1. Great write up as usual @Purple88. BG is on a mission and has been all business since the playoffs started. Looking at the schedules is enough for me. If BG plays well they will win. I will take the Purples 42-28. Just so long as Highlands remains #1 the next two weeks in the Bluegrass poll. Can’t be having teams jump them Just because they win the state title.
  2. Two major points first. 1. The officials in this game were some of the most incompetent I’ve seen. Thankfully it didn’t matter, but it could have. It is unacceptable to have this type of incompetency in a final four game. THE KHSAA needs to find a way to pay these people more so we can get rid of guys like this and keep good officials in. 2. I love how Owensboro kept their starting offense in with a running clock against BG’s freshmen and JV team with like 2 minutes left To get their only score of the game. Now onto the game. Purples were all business tonight. I don’t know if Owensboro just topped out last week against South Warren or what, but this was a major beat down. Owensboro had nothing. I am so impressed with how’s BG defense has improved over the course of the season. I don’t believe BG had any injuries either. So I hope that’s correct. Two years in a row BG makes it back to the title game!
  3. Ya’ll make sure to keep Highlands #1 in poll though.
  4. Deuce will be the most talented player on the field. Will he be the best? Depends on how he plays. If he plays well then yes, if he has a bad game the no. Going to be a battle. Glad BG has this game at home.
  5. The RPI system is what needs to be changed, not moving the semi's to a neutral field.
  6. That’s pretty low scoring and I don’t see it being that low. But if it is then Owensboro will probably win.
  7. If this game was at Rash I would lean Owensboro. But BG is at home. They are playing well. If it’s high scoring that definitely favors the Purples. If it’s lower scoring that favors Owensboro. its going to be a battle and I expect the EL to be packed! It’s tough to beat a good team twice in the same season, but I’ll take the Purples 38-31.
  8. Well BG looks to have its business face on now that it's playoff time. They looked excellent against Graves County. I guess it was a complete mismatch, but still BG played well. It's the playoffs so anything can happen, just ask South Warren. I believe BG should win comfortably as long as they remain focused.
  9. RASH during playoff time is the toughest place I’ve been to personally. BG has had a lot of recent success there, but BG also has been very talented too. I think it was maybe four years ago the Purples lost in the playoffs at RASH.
  10. I’d say he deserves a lot of credit. Also South has not played in a stadium like RASH in the playoffs. I wonder how much that was a factor?
  11. I think a lot of us were wrong on this one. I have seen both of these teams play prior to tonight and I am shocked at this outcome. Congrats to Owensboro.
  12. Someone was wondering about holes in the Graves County defense…….well I hope you are watching cause they are all over the place.
  13. From the Bowling Green Daily News article “I think in our building we were expecting to play Greenwood,” BG coach Mark Spader said. “That’s no slight at Graves. We knew they were a good team out there, but it’s a fresh prep. I think they have our kids’ attention. It’s been a great week of practice. They’ve been focused and that is what we expect this time of year. We are trying to earn the right to advance and possibly host a region championship next week.”
  14. That was wild. What was the explanation the coaches got? Did they blow the whistle cause they thought the RB had the ball?
  15. RASH is always one of the toughest places to play, especially in the playoffs, but I think the Devils have it in them this season. South should win by several scores.
  16. That's the way I took it too. And I was like wow, that's not good. Glad to hear it wasn't that.
  17. He may be in for a rude awakening Friday night with his thought process.
  18. Uh..........there is not a team on Graves' schedule that has an offense anywhere near what BG has. I wouldn't put too much stock in what those other teams could or couldn't find.
  19. also I watched the Graves/Geenwood game. The Graves QB would slide every time he ran with the ball even sacrificing gaining more yards vs taking a hit. I also saw the receivers do the same thing some times. Do they always do that? They left a bunch of extra yards on the field.
  20. BG’s offense is not playing its best right now. The OL has major problems. Graves County is big up front on both sides. Reminded me a little of South Warren. But there are major holes in the Graves County defense. If BG OL can give Deuce a little time he will pick them apart and the receivers will run all over them. BG’s defense has been improving so I don’t see Graves putting up a ton a points. I think BG pulls away with a 35-14 win.
  21. Well that will do it. huge mistake by Greenwood as a punt hit one of their players and Graves recovered. Graves then scored a TD to make it 22-7. 3 minutes left.
  22. Graves finally breaks a run after finally getting an offensive possession without a penalty. missed extra point is HUGE and that makes it 15-7 instead of 16-7. halfway through the 4th.
  23. Still 9-7 Graves County approaching end of third. game getting chippy. Greenwood players doing A LOT of mouthing.
