  1. He will be a huge addition to the birds if he is as good as I have heard.
  2. Henschen should put up huge numbers with the receiving core that he has this year. In Wrobleski, Freppon, and Hall.
  3. That is like getting 2 players at a small school because your starters usually go both ways.
  4. It is all about getting the athletes on the field. When they get 40-50 players on the sidelines then they will start competing again. They have the athletes. I counted 26 players total in a game that i watched last year.
  5. I thought cheating was not playing by the rules. If i am not mistaken i think high school does have rules about age limits. So where is the cheating part.
  6. I was told that in Ohio if you turn 19 before the sport starts you cant play. So if your birthday is October you can play football but nothing after that.
  7. I believe parents do what they feel is necessary for there kids. I was started in school early because my parents had trouble affording daycare. I struggled every year. I also played against kids 2 years old but it wasn't that bad. Kids are more mature but these was the same kids i played with on the streets anyway. I didnt hold my kids back but wish i had not for any reason but to give them 1 more year before they had to enter the work force. Once you leave high school life is never the same. What parent wouldn't want to have your child live with you 1 more year. I also believe it gives you another year to coach them up for the game of life. Does it help them with sports and academics absolutely. Iife isnt fair so the whole no kid left behind in school and equal playing time is setting these kids of for failure in life. I believe the older you are gives you the best chance entering college or the work force.
  8. The good thing about highlands is that when you lose a starter it is only 1 position not 2 like at smaller schools. But with that said they have such a tough schedule i am not sure they can afford to lose any starters.
  9. They struggle at the beginning of every season because it is front loaded with 5 and 6A schools. They will definitely need some players to step up this year if they want to win the district.
  10. I watched the 9th region tournament last year and I would have to say that Brennan Hall from Newport Catholic should be on the list. Weyer and Hall carried NewCath to the state tournament. I will not put him over anyone on the list for i havent seen most of them play.
  11. No Highschool kid runs 4.3 laser. Quentin Baker ran 4.29 hand time but a 4.65 laser. With that said if that boy doesnt run track he needs to. He is one of the fastes kids in the state.
  12. 4.6 is very fast laser time. There is maybe a hand full of athletes in the whole state that can run in the 4.6 range. Quentin baker ran 4.65 and a 10.79 100. Laser time. I dont know who this kid is but hats off to you and keep working hard.
  13. I did see highlands last year and he might have thrown more interceptions than any quarterback in NKY. He got his D-1 offer before the season even started. The same thing happened with pike he couldn't read a defense at all. I watch pike throw 5 interception in the second half against NCC and give that game away. Both had the size but it was all on potential. I dont have the stats but i would bet there was at least 5 quarterbacks in NKY with better stats than Highlands quarterback.
  14. I totally disagree. College's base most of the D-1 players on potential. D-1 schools don't need you to start as a freshman they need you as a Jr. They are looking mostly for size. I will use 2 examples the Pike boy from Dixie and the Highlands quarterback last year. Neither was even close to the best in NKY but both D-1 offers from a couple camps and their size as quarterbacks. D-1,2 or 3 shouldn't matter. What you should look at is the competition that each players is going against.
  15. Highlands will have one more bad year and then they will be back to 8-2, 9-1 records. But this year i can see them right around 500.
  16. Did Louisville magic 16U play in this tournament?
  17. I know Western Kentucky elite is always good. Anyone know how good there 15U team is this year.
  18. To answer your question yes. In 5A and 6A you need alot of juniors and seniors on the field to win championships. If you have more sophomore s than seniors starting you will get destroyed playing with the big boys. However if you are playing in the smaller divisions like 1A and 2A you can get away with a lot of underclassmen.
  19. I love how people watch kids at the freshman and JV level and think they are good enough to play varsity. Varsity is a completely different animal. These arent 14,15,16 year olds. These are young men that work year round to hurt you when they hit you. That is why you always see seniors winning the starting job at quarterback they are bigger and stronger. My guess would be Gosney.
  20. I think all the schools should root for there region. NCC's success is a tribute to the the strong 9th region.
