  1. Not going to argue that statement. Lots of talking in June/July. Most of the time that's all it is. With that said from what I am hearing from my friends in Brooksville there will be some interesting names thrown around in the near future. And some old faces in new places in the 2015/2016 season. And it's a huge IF I know but if those names land in Brooksville they will be in the talk for not only the all A and the 39th, but the region as well. Write it down. Out of the three I've heard one is almost a done deal one is getting close and the third is highly doubtful but as meatloaf said "don't be sad cause 2 outta 3 ain't bad" :thumb:
  2. 15-69 over his 3 seasons at Calvary. Not very good numbers by any standards. Although they are in a extremely tough district. Have their backs to the wall season in and season out. Tough gig for any potential coach.
  3. Didn't meant to come off the wrong way. I was just saying the back and forth banter between the two fan bases can at times be very entertaining to read. With the history over the past few years and Hinson going back to Bracken I predict that the banter will get more intense and the games will be good ones to watch. Personally I enjoy it. It's like UK an UofL but on a All A stage. :thumb:
  4. Here comes a dose of the Augusta fan base and their Hateorade.....SMH :lol2: I always love to see the banter between the two fan bases. Good stuff..
  5. Ohhh I don't know maybe to play for a two time COY in Hinson. Or like I've said time and time again to play with their AAU teammates this winter. Grass is greener kinda thing. Maybe just don't like their current situation. Many reasons to be honest. I don't know which one fits in this case but I would say that Hinson was not the coach this wouldn't even be a topic. Just a guess though. :thumb:
  6. And why is it that all the 39th district teams always in the same bracket? Seems like a preview for March.
  7. Whats the odds of a transfer coming to Bracken? Twitter was a buzz with those rumors last night. If it happens Bracken Moves up to the #1 spot in the 39th and top 4-5 in the region. And Crawford wont have to play the point. Possibily be at the three. :idunno:
  8. Matt Botner per another thread.
  9. What if in the rare situation they log varsity minutes as an 8th grader? Does that change anything? Just asking because I honestly dont know.
  10. So much for that comment about Hinson teams not knowing how to defend. I saw them on Monday and looked very active on both sides of the ball. I am looking foward to watching them play a little better competition to see where the stand against the Regions better teams. So far so good from what i have seen. Kids really showing team chemistry something they have lacked the past couple seasons.
  11. Alright folks it is summer ball. Dont think many of these scores or results will have much bearing on the season anyway. Coaches usually tend to get all their kids some work in not too concerned about wins and losses. Lets all remain calm. :lol2:
  12. The talent level at Augusta over the last 5 years has been off the charts good. After these seniors graduate the talent level will drop off considerably. Not sure as to what they have coming up but they will have big shoes to fill. This run of talent is defintly the exception not the norm. Not to mention they had a two time 10th region COY at the helm. New coach in place this year, I think Kirk is a great coach but they may be some early growing pains in the first half of the season. This season is the last season for the forseeable future that the Panthers will contend for an all A region and/or district. I dont believe even with what they have coming back the contend for the Region crown in March. The 39th is going to be a dog fight this season so even getting out of that district is going to be a tall order. This is the first season in a long time that Augusta, Bracken, and Mason are so evenly matched. Any of the three could win the district. As of today none of the three will be a big threat to win the region. IMO Campbell, MoCo or maybe GRC will be the ones cutting down the nets in March. As far as it being the last season to challenge Mason Im not so sure about that eithier. Bracken will be a very good team over the next 2 years. And possibly contend for the Region in 2017. Just my opnion.
  13. Ohmer is also a vital part to the Eagles success. Both Baseball and Basketball.
  14. AAU is killing school ball. AAU basketball is also killing spring sports. AAU should only be played in the dead period with just a few tournaments. Wouldn't hurt my and many others feelings if there were no AAU. Just sayin.
  15. Some PC faithful may not agree with the bolded. At least according to Twitter PC fans figured it was Patrick Kelsch's job to turn down. Personally I dont know Coach Bowling so I cant say one way or the other. Good luck to her and the Lady Cats hope they have many succesful seasons together. :thumb:
  16. Do they have any openings on the teaching side? Would be a tough commute from Brooksville to Falmouth to Augusta everyday. Also be a tough situation coaching at PC and teaching at BC. IMO
  17. Now that Mason County has been filled where does Coach Kelsch end up next season if anywhere? Any thoughts?
  18. One would think its gonna be eithier Brad Cox or Patrick Kelsch. Those are the only two names Ive heard as serious canidates.
  19. Simple answer If he wins no
  20. You are definitely on a roll this Mother's Day. The term bottom feeders is a bit harsh. As you refer to the All A schools as bottom feeders. You are making the argument very easy for those in favor of a class system in basketball. It's those people like yourself that follow a 6a school and look down at everyone else on your perch with your "we are better than you" comments. Give it a rest my friend before you make a real "donkey" of yourself. I don't think anyone is creating drama. For these small schools it's a big deal when a successful coach leaves or is asked to leave or whatever the case may be. And the people of these small rural communities have a right to ask questions as does their competitors. If you don't like the discussion or the comments made here please feel free to find a thread elsewhere. What is a 6a follower even concerned about this issue anyway?
  21. While I agree with you. I think you need to rethink your assessment here. These kids love their Polar Bear Nation as I'm sure the kids in Campbell love their Camel nation, and the Mason Co kids love the Fieldhouse Crazies. Students first yes but the gap is very narrow with athletes as to which is most important. And society has created this. Fans don't fill gyms across the state to watch these kids take a test or take their ACT. They come to watch these kids play a sport and are hanging on every play. And if you don't think that plays on these kids mentally you are not in touch with reality. And that blurs the lines on student athletes to some people. And every coach has people that are loyal to them regardless of where they coach. It's just fact.
  22. Next yr they should be a solid #2 in the district. They lost three senior I do believe with the Collins kid the biggest contributor of the three so they return Cummins who is their bread and butter. Another smooth guard in the Ruf kid I believe she will be a sophomore. Good size with Florer and Kalb down low those two will be juniors. Another junior that will contribute is the Jefferson kid. Can't forget about freshman Kennedy Carl. She played big minutes as an 8th grader last yr until she broke her leg. The 8th grade had a very nice season this past yr. Dotson is a quick guard that can handle the ball and Wills is a young tall post player. Nat Bell is another good shooter. I'm sure I'm leaving some one off. So the cupboard is definitely not bare for seasons to come. I'm gonna say they make a run at their district as a solid 2 to start the yr and no lower than 5 in the preseason region rankings. I feel the region winner will again come from the 39th weather it Mason or Bracken only time will tell. Bracken has all the tools to make a run. Now weather they do or not is tbd. After next yr they may drop off but just a little bit. Ruf and Carl will take this team and run with it after Cummins graduates. Should be right there in the all a talk for the next 3-4 yrs. a repeat of last season next season is not out of the question.
