Mason County Job Open
From an inside source of the high school, Jason Hinson rang the phones off the hook. Was declined numerous times because of no teaching degree. The requirements for the job were 2 years of head coaching, and also a teaching degree. So, I'm guessing the ones that met these requirements were trimmed to a select few which are given an interview. This is just what I heard from an inside office source of the Mason County High School. I would be surprised if Buddy Biggs wasn't named the head coach in the coming week(s). Seems to have a lot of support from around the town from the people I've spoken with.

What to expect from Mason County next year?
IMO I think the trip to the Sweet 16 will give the Mason girls a lot of confidence that they haven't had in prior years, especially being so young. The 10th looks great for the next years though with all the young talented teams. Sure to make for some exciting games come tournament time!

Mason County 51 Clark County 47 (10th Region Finals)
Congrats to the Lady Royals. Very young and talented. In regards to the no juniors or seniors subject, there were numerous students that played but in the past few years have had conflict with the coach for some reason or another. The last senior, Cara Green quit in the middle of this season.

Mason County 77 Augusta 40 (39th District finals)
Huge shoutout to 3goggles tonight :thumb:

Dorian Henry Garnering a Variety of Interest
Ron Dawn is a class act, hard to see the dirty play. But back to the subject, Dorian is having an outstanding year and should be atleast considered a Mr. Basketball candidate. Mason County would not be where they are today without him. When he wants and needs to, he puts up huge numbers. Much more of a facilitator than people would know if you haven't watched him in person.

Bracken County 57 Augusta 35
Should be a good game come Feb. 23rd in first round of districts. Anxious to see the adjustments Coach Hinson will have. Congrats to the Polar Bears for the huge victory!

Is it too early to ask if Mason County has a legitimate chance of winning state?
Simple answer, yes
-
Mason County 59 Harrison County 49
The Royals keep rolling with another huge win. Continue to answer back against opposing team's run. Dorian with another big night.

Big men
Mason county utilizes their big men fairly well. Dorian Henry occasionally will play a point-forward and Jake O'Mara is more of the bruiser down low with the occasional pick and pop, as well as Bradley Boone battling in the post.

Mason County 68 George Rogers Clark 54
Ryan Johnson couldn't miss tonight. The zone played by GRC left him absolutely wide open most of the night. A bit of a "bad" game for Dorian but still put up 18. Pig Williams' defense was absolutely outstanding tonight at the point guard position. Counted 3 or 4 blocks myself

George Rogers Clark vs Mason County Predictions
Mason by 15-20. I just don't see anyone in the region stopping Dorian. Will Mason be at full strength?

Mason County at Montgomery County Predictions 2/3/15
Last game during Holiday Classic @ Mt. Sterling, Mason let a 9 point lead in the 4th fall, but still won while dominating in OT 16-7. MoCo had no answer for Dorian Henry that night who was a complete monster going 9-11 from the field with an added 13-16 from the line, while adding 11 rebounds. Mason has now learned to fight off these late charges and answer back quickly rather than letting the other team get back in it. Will Pig Williams be available for this game? Regardless, I'll take Mason by around 15-17. Key to the game for Mason is controlling the perimeter.
