  1. Thats the way it appears. Aparently the issues surrounding Mr. Williams got worked out and he will be a Royal for his senior season. Last I heard he was going to play in Ohio if things were not worked out but I for one am glad they are because I hate to see a kid finish out a high school career at a different school after all the hard work they put into the system to this point.
  2. Yes they have the pork tenderloin sandwhiches (quite good) at the Glacier on the Howard Hall Sporting Complex. :thumb:
  3. I firmly believe that he has some valid points in those statements but predominately that comment was tounge in cheek.
  4. Its not rocket science what Bracken does on offense. Hell all anyone has to do is look at the KHSAA website and see the stats. :ohbrother: Brossart will be ready as will Bracken. If coach Wiggins is on BGP scouting then thats a whole other set of issues. Im sure Brossart had their gameplan already together before today. :thumb:
  5. Seen Pig last night. Looked as if he was on crutches. Whats the word on Mr. Williams?
  6. I was at the Dayton game and the run was very successful. I can only recall maybe 3 pass attempts. Thats why I was asking. Looks like from what i saw 3 decent speed backs and a bruising fullback.
  7. I see where Bracken has over double Rushing yards to passing yards so the run scheme must be succesful for Bracken. Do they utilize any play action? Or is the run game been so productive that the passing game is not needed as much?
  8. 1. 37th 2. 39th 3. 40th 4. 38th 37th is my top pick because like the boys Campbell and Scott are very strong and return alot of talent from last season. Brossart is always competitive and have the bigs, but this season guard play will be questionable at seasons start. Calvary Christan will be the 4th place team with not very much to pull from it makes success in the 37th extremely difficult. Silver Grove may or may not have a team this year but it will not change the dynamic of the district. 1. Campbell 2. Scott 3. Bishop Brossart 4. Calvary Christian 5. Silver Grove 39th Mason and Bracken will be 1 and 2 all season. Mason will be the heavy favorite to repeat as district champs and probably the region as well. If I am Mason County I definitly would not sleep on Bracken County. They return one of the best players in the region and with the bigs they have for next season and strong guard play it not out of the realm of possibility that Bracken County upsets Mason for the district and makes a solid run in the region. Augusta lost Jerrica Kelsch to graduation and that will be a huge loss to fill but they have some good young guards coming up that will try to fill the void, and possibily win a few more games than most will expect. St. Pat will round out the 39th with not much to speak of last year was not the best for the Lady Saints and I dont expect this season to be much different. 1. Mason 2. Bracken 3. Augusta 4. St. Pat 40th The 40th IMO is GRC's to loose. The other three teams will be in competition for 2nd place. The loss of Skinner will leave a big gap in their offense but with Anderson Hardiman and Flowers GRC will be a tough out for any team come the region tournament. MoCo will look to improve on their down year last season. Kennedy Igo will be their young go-to player. She played big minutes last season as an 8th grader. As for Bourbon, I look to have a down year in comparision to the last few with Asia Simms gone to graduation. Finally, Paris will also be in the mix this season as they will return several ladies from last years team names to watch will be Kailee Finch and Gloria Pounce and Kiara Garrard. 1. GRC 2. Paris 3. MoCo 4. Bourbon (2-4 could be in any order and i would agree) 38th This will be the last place district im my opnion. Not very much star power in this district and much like the boys i see it has a PC HC showdown. Harrison looses 3-4 seniors and will look to some incoming freshmen Kellione, and Clements alongside Sr. Philpott to provide the offense. As for Pendleton they also lost 4-5 seniors Makela Manor and Bailey Wanstrath will be the biggest losses, but they will look to a couple seniors Makayla Bishop and Amberly Purdy to pick up the scoring along with Madison Wyatt. Robertson was probably the biggest loser from last season with Lacy Mitchell graduating and the transfer of Sainer. Robertson will have to find offense from some unheard of names this season. Breanna Hubbard, Breanna Hesler, and Cari Linville will have to pick up their production from last season for the Lady Devils to be sucessful. And finally Nicholas Co. the loss to graduation of Megan Bretz will loom large for the lady jackets but they will look to Abby Dorrset and Samantha Sowell to take up the slack. 1a. Harrison 1b. Pendleton 3. Nicholas 4. Robertson
  9. Agreed Opie. Mason, Campbell, Scott, Brossart, Bracken, GRC could all lay claim to some hardware before the season is over. definitily not a two horse race by any means. And I'm sure the schools that most are not talking about dont mind not being on the radar. Takes a little of the preseason pressure off them.
  10. Will the Flowers kid stay? I hear she is transfer prone. Or at least has been in the past. Either way should be another exciting year in the 10th region. Several good teams, and plenty of must see games on the slate. I for one cant wait to get the season started. :thumb:
  11. 37 40 39 38 37th 1. Campbell 2. Scott 3. Brossart 4. Calvary 5. Silver Grove 40th 1. MoCo 2. Paris 3. GRC 4. Bourbon 39th 1a Mason 1b Bracken 1c Augusta 4. St. Pat 38th 1. Pendleton 2. Harrison 3. Nicholas 4. Robertson The 37th has 2 of the top 3 players in the region and thats the district to beat The 40th also has it share of good players but MoCo and Paris standout from the other two teams. The 39th is about as close as I've seen it in a long time any of the top three teams could win it and this will be the best district to watch games in this season. All the games between the top 3 should be good close games. 38th This district lost the most star power than any other for this season, with Harrison Graduating Jenkins Strob and Thompson, Pendleton graduating Lea and the Antrobus transfer, Cooper at Robertson and Newman at Nicholas. Its still a two horse race with PC and HC they will be 1 and 2 all season long
  12. I've been hearing he has a broken wrist. If true how much does that slow him down untill healthy? Can really start praticeing with the team until the cast comes off. Hope he is ready for the start of the season love watching him play.
  13. This a fair assesment as i said in the sleeper thread although it may be a little tounge in cheek. To the bolded: Who is the other player you speak of? I need to put them on my radar. As for Rupp in 2016 that may be a stretch. While I think this group will win and be successful this year it will be tough to keep up with Campbell and MoCo. If this was a 2017 thread with a year under their belts I would say Bracken would be a favorite in the 10th and not a sleeper. But thats next year. One things for sure December will be a tough month for Bracken especially the first two weeks: Dec 2, 15 Montgomery County @ MoCo Dec 8, 15 Augusta @ home Dec 12, 15 Fleming County at Robertson County Dec 15, 15 Mason County @home They have a tough overall schedule for a 1A school in the 10th region.
  14. Bracken County will be as good as anyone in their district. They have the weapons to take down Mason and always plays with Augusta. They have the best player in the district (#2 in the region) and the best coach. The last time Hinson had a dominant player and a good supporting cast around him his team won back to back district titles Hinson knows how to beat the bigger schools and having coach those boys at Augusta he knows their strengths and weaknesses. Don't know how anyone can say the Polar Bears are not serious contenders. Just baffles me.
  15. After Zack Pulliam Im not sure what they have coming back. They should battle with Pendleton Co. as i feel they will be the #2 team in the 38th to start the season. That district will most likely should be a two horse race. Just hope they do not draw each other in the district Tournament.
  16. Sleeper has to not be a top 4 or 5 team so with that said my sleeper picks in the 10th would be Mason, Augusta, Bracken, or Pendleton. The 39th will be as competitive as it has been in a long time. Mason may still be the best team but its very close this time around. No one is head and shoulders above the rest. Augusta has alot of experience, Bracken has if not the best one of the best coaches and the #2 player in the region. Another poster has already mentioned that but I believe they may have meant that with sarcasam implied. Just grinding an ax. But they were correct in their assessment. Pendleton will be tough again even with the loss of Antrobus. Allen will step up and take the scorers role. That is as long as he stays healthy. I heard he has another broken wrist, maybe someone from PC can confirm that. If so hopefully he's ready come December. Mason has Pig Williams and a cast of underclassmen that will get their chance to show what they can do. Scott IMO cant really be classified as a sleeper with them being as high as 3rd in the preseason rankings. Same for Paris.
  17. This is the way most ppl around my neck of the woods say it. :thumb:
  18. I think Bracken will turn some heads. Their record really does not indicate how well this team is playing. They are massive up front and may cause some trouble for Paris in the running game. Had a great overall effort against Dayton last week with several sacks and 5 interceptions. With the feild conditions not being optimal it may just slow the Greyhounds up just enough to make this game interesting.
  19. Would it be safe to say this may be the first year in the last several GRC may be the 3rd best team in their district?
  20. Great minds do think alike
  21. Well if we are going to say Campbell is the odds on favorite for the 10th then anyone that challenges them is a sleeper? Granted I believe MoCo to be #2 as well and could be #1 before seasons end, but preseason sleepers by definition would be anyone not in the top spot that has a legit chance of beating Campbell.
  22. Agree Paris has the tools in the 10th. As long as they don't lay another egg in the region. If we are going to call Paris a sleeper then shouldn't we throw in Augusta, Scott, MoCo? TBH Paris is a legit contender for the All A with Augusta, Bracken, and Brossart. Any of those 4 could go to Frankfort. But if we are talking about going to Rupp the dark horse discussion has to start with Scott and MoCo and probably end there as well.
  23. Deal :thumb: Carl too. I don't know about that boy sometimes
  24. Sure young man :thumb: From what I've read this far it's pretty much wrapped up Mason is #1 and Campbell and Scott are a distance 2&3 unless you reside in NKY then it's 1a Mason and 1b Campbell and Scott is a distant 2. If you are from the 40th it's Mason GRC Campbell Scott. The only love for Bracken is coming from is coming from polarbear98 and Brooksvillebear. Rightfully so :lol2: I don't know much about their new coach but I have heard about Bailey Cummins and I've seen her play more than once and from what ive seen as long as she is on the floor the Bracken girls always have a chance. Mix her with the two bigs and the youthful guards I'd be more than concerned if I was Mason Campbell GRC or Scott. Besides the Bracken thread there isn't much being said about them and that's why I say they are being over looked. By reading some of these threads if a person had no other knowledge but what's on here Mason Co should already be making hotel reservations in NKY for the state tournament.
