The 4 years with championship game on Sunday (2013-2016): 3x champion played 1st semifinal game on Saturday; 1x champion played 2nd semifinal game (CovCath) 15 years prior (1998-2012) championship game played Saturday night: 8x the champion played in the 2nd semifinal game; 7x the champion played in the 1st semifinal game

That's why the school district will close. If I'm not mistaken Campbell County schools were closed the day the Camels played.

So we are in the area of 8000-10000 per tournament. Plus those who used to attend aren't or can't because of age, health or death. Parents/Grandparents aren't taking their kids/grandkids anymore. My grandparents were regulars up until 2011/12. My dad hasn't missed since 1951 (born in 1950). I've been to 43, only missed 2. My 8 & 6 yos just made their 9th & 7th trip, they haven't missed yet. I get it. Life gets in the way, things happen. High schoolers have better/cooler things to do. My friends & I looked forward to attending the Sweet 16 every year, hopefully by playing (never happened), or just going to watch. I've been lucky enough in my years to see some of the greats Kentucky high school basketball has had to offer. I unlike many choose to continue to pass that tradition on to my kids. Maybe they'll lead their team in time to The Greatest Show In Hoops

4+ coaches from 300+ schools isn't going to make a difference? I see very few coaches at the state tournament nowadays & spoken to several that don't go due to the reason given in another post.

I guess the NCAA needs to redo their system as well then? No at-large bids, only conference or conference tournament winners

Im for the old format. Seemed to work well for 95 years. Now all of a sudden kids can't play 2 games in a day? while we're at it trophies for everyone

What a great game! Probably a little more physical than NCC would have liked, but the whistles, as always, seem to be blown less the deeper we get in to March. I know he was in foul trouble, but very surprised at the lack of touches by Weyer in the 4th.

There is probably a collection at my grandparents going back decades. Boys state tournament is a family thing for us. Grandparents had been going for a long, long time up until about 2011 or 2012 when grandmas Alzheimer's took a big hit on her. Dad has been going every year since 1951, born in June 1950. I've only missed 2 years in my 44 years And my 2 boys have yet to miss in their 8 & 6 years.

Thanks! Looks like only 2 of those Ls were to KY teams & 1 is on the other side of the bracket. It was more of a question for LB, because I know he has been at the games this week & would have an unbiased opinion on the matter. Also, trying to plan my weekend. I want to see Boley play, but not in a blowout

Because you had 9th region fans showing up to watch as well. That isn't happening if it's at Mason or Montgomery because games are probably on same nights

I'm in NKY and in no way, shape or form do I think the 10th Region tournament should be played at NKU or anywhere up here. The central location of the Fieldhouse shows $$$-wise (which is the most important thing) & travel-wise, that it is the best location for the tournament. The 40th has their right to pick where it is held when it's their turn, however, it seems as their reasoning is "just because we can" instead of common sense.

Disagree. I'd go every night for this years games if they were being played at the Fieldhouse, as I feel there is no lock to win in any of the games. Just not making the drive from NKY to Mount Sterling all 4 nights. You'll find me in Henry County or at NKU a night or 2 this year.
