  1. Robertson County was facing the same thing, luckily they stepped it up academically.
  2. Just looking at numbers... A- Bracken isn't near as small as they like to play it off. B- GRC is HUGE. C- Augusta's recent success is still amazing with only 44 males in the school. (Even though the Big 3 didn't originate there) D- How is Silver Grove keeping their doors open?
  3. It's expected in Maysville as it should be with the talent pool in the area, Maysville has always been a rich basketball area whether it was Maysville or Mason County. They are very fortunate for that, where I'm from they haven't won a district championship in 20+ years so I know exactly what you mean. I'm a Mason County fan because I grew up watching the Royals as well as the Black Devils. I've had the opportunity to watch some fantastic players come through both schools and wouldn't trade my experiences and memories for anything.
  4. Funny thing is, I don't live in Mason Co nor have I ever been a resident of Mason County for that matter. Where I come from people go to basketball games because it's the only thing within a 20 mile radius, we don't have movie theaters, or shopping malls, or even a Walmart for that matter. We have a gas station and a school that's it. Am I fan of Mason County, sure, but don't confuse me for one of them.
  5. I think I'd stay at home and listen on the radio before I paid to stand in the cafeteria and watch it on a TV.
  6. That drive wasn't so bad for me, but I couldn't imagine driving two hours, on a school bus, after school for a basketball game, on a school night. Just inconvenient and unnecessary.
  7. There is one issue the won't be a factor with this game, both teams will be playing on neutral court with each team being about an hour from home. Man the beauty of the central location.
  8. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that those games at PC don't draw the crowd that the Mason/Augusta games have drawn in the past few years. Might be wrong, but I doubt it, I went to the Harrison/Pendleton final in 2015 at Robertson and there was a good crowd, not great but good.
  9. This is a bit off topic, but in the game Friday night vs Robertson Free made a 3 early in the 1st quarter then looked over to the HC student section and said "I've got ice in my veins" and pointed to his forearm. Thought it was a bit odd/funny to do that in that situation. Back to the game, if Free doesn't play Bracken cakewalks through this game.
  10. You should never have to walk half a mile to the Fieldhouse lol, you have 2 schools surrounding MCHS that have parking available along with 68, and the parking lot to the football field behind the high school. As for the Bracken shuttle, it's just a pain in the you know what. Waiting for shuttles to take you to and from your vehicle is very inconvenient, especially after games when everyone is trying to leave at the same time. It's unnecessary to go through all that trouble when you have the perfect venue 20 miles down the road.
  11. Parking isn't an issue at the Fieldhouse, sure you may have to walk, but doesn't that come with it? Not everyone is able to park right next to the door regardless where you hold it.
  12. So then Campbell/Bracken Harrison/GRC Paris/Robertson Mason/Scott?
  13. What would've been the ideal draw in your opinion? I agree that the draw was very kind to Bracken, but someone had to get Robertson so I'm okay with Paris getting them.
  14. I think you have to look at the size of the counties along with cities other than Maysville and Falmouth. Outside of Maysville Mason County is small. Orangeburg, Sardis, Minerva, Mayslick, and Sardis are it. Outside of Falmouth you have Butler, Morgan, Peachgrove, and Sunrise which I think is also in PC, (may be wrong on that one). Pendleton Co is also a hop, skip and a jump from NKY as to where Maysville is just about an hour from everything, NKY, Lex, and about 90 minutes from Ashland.
  15. GRC is much much better than people give them credit for. I see them advancing and giving either Mason or Campbell one heckuva game on Saturday night.
  16. Not sure if you guys consider Maysville to be Northern Kentucky or not, but in my opinion nobody does a better job than Danny Weddle. He's right up there with Tom Leach and Kaywood Ledford, we're very blessed for him to stay put in Maysville for as long as he has.
  17. Per @mcpapa 2016-17 boys enrollments for all 10th region schools: 26 Silver Grove 34 Saint Patrick 44 Augusta 69 Robertson County 76 Calvary Christian 107 Paris 125 Bishop Brossart 178 Nicholas County 198 Bracken County 374 Mason County 391 Pendleton County 422 Bourbon County 501 Harrison County 519 Scott 716 Montgomery County 793 Campbell County 810 Clark County
  18. People often mistake Mason to be this really big school but they aren't. They really shouldn't even be 4A in football, they don't have but like 30 kids on the roster which is sad.
  19. Will this game be on the radio anywhere? Would love to listen.
  20. WOW! I didn't see this game being this close. Heart breaker for the Lady Bears.
  21. So which head coach would you say has the best assistants? Buddy Biggs has Brian Miller, Lamont Taylor, Andy Clarke, and Zack Irvine. Patrick Kelsch only has Aaron Massey. Keaton Belcher has his brother Kane and Timmy Cooper. Brian Kirk has the same assistants that Hinson had at Augusta I believe. Feel free to complete the list, those were the only ones I knew off the top of my head.
  22. The Royals have a better winning percentage in MoCo than they do in the Fieldhouse. 2008- Champions 2012- Runner-up 2016 Champions Can even throw the Bank of Ky Center into the equation too because they won it there in 2009 also. :sssh:
  23. 1. GRC 2. Mason You can just throw in whoever for the rest, won't really matter IMO.
