Beechwood 6 Ludlow 5 (All A 9th Region Final)
No he wasn't. And if you don't think there is a huge difference between the 90s BW saw over the weekend and what was being thrown up there in this one, you go stand in the box and face both. That's brilliant coaching, and exactly what I would do against that team. Velocity is irrelevant on the top end, many of those BW hitters see upper 80s low 90s all summer. They don't see high 50s and low 60s. Hard enough to hit it, add in the ump calling the strikes 5 inches off the plate and it worked great.

Moeller/Simon Kenton Predictions Today April 16th 6PM
Dont give them too much credit. Applaud whoever schedules the Doc Morris calendar, not SK. BW gets their turn at Moe tomorrow, there will be no difference in final result.

Moeller/Simon Kenton Predictions Today April 16th 6PM
Is this a serious question? As expected, this one was over early. Bault threw for Moe, he's probably 4 or 5 in their rotation. SK threw off, no idea who kid was but there was no effort to put someone on the hill that could compete with the quality hitters Moe throws out there. It was 12-1 when I left, not sure where it ended. Wish they had thrown Lawrence, would have at least given then a punchers chance.

Beechwood 6 Ludlow 5 (All A 9th Region Final)
I He had a no hitter with 8ks through 4, and a shutout through 5. That's dominant in my book. He and Stringer gonna have to learn to hit the duece, that are lucky to see one FB per at bat.

Beechwood 6 Ludlow 5 (All A 9th Region Final)
I Combs started, was dominant for 5 innings but ran out of gas and Ludlow got a couple off him and then a big bases loaded double off Huesman by the big first baseman. Stringer pitched a scoreless 7th for W. Was fun to see Clint had the radar gun on, kid topped at 89. Eads for Ludlow was masterful, shows you dont have to throw hard to get HS kids out. Was throwing mostly in 50s, Tigers had about a million ground ball outs. Ludlow had it wrapped up, I watched last inning from fence down LF line as it was over, but a dropped fly ball opened the flood gates, then an overthrow on a double steal played the tying run. Was an awful beat for Panthers. If they play 10 times IMO BW wins 9, but tonight was their shot to Win. Great job Coach Gray on getting your kids ready, they deserved to win tonight.

Beechwood 15 Dixie Heights 7
Dead wrong on this one HB. Gotta get swings when you can. None of BW top three pitchers threw a single pitch. Wasn't about winning or losing, was about getting some back of the rotation guys some innings and getting your hitters some swings. BW unveiled a sophomore in Noah Huesman, kid is going to be a player. Pitched well vs Dixie for his first varsity innings.

Beechwood 2015
Would shock me. If you've ever watched him play he seems to have so much fun on the field. That said, he is much more built for baseball. Prototypical size and measurables for a corner OF. Urban Meyer has gone on record as saying he prefers two sport athletes because of what it affords to training. Man, BW could go from preseason favorite to border line top 10 if these kids don't play.

Beechwood 2015
Wow. Thats hard to fathom. Good baseball player, but better football player and is built and moves more like a football player. Not here to judge, but passing up your senior year with all your brothers you have shed so much blood and sweat with? I quit basketball after my sophomore year to concentrate on baseball. Regret it to this day. As for graduating early, never heard of that for baseball. That's a football thing so you can participate in spring practice. No benefit for baseball. I hope the kid changes his mind if this is true. Maybe Noel can shed some brevity.

Boone County 9 Ryle 5
Gonna be a long year in Union. Watched them vs Beechwood at Freedom on Thursday, they got shut out despite several walks. Seemed they always had 2 or 3 on base, but I can only remember one or two hits in 5 innings. Lost 10-0.

Highlands 5 Beechwood 2
I 80 pitches, first game, in that weather? That's absurd.

Northern KY Well Represented In Athens...
So you think college coaches recruit from media coverage? Could not be further from accurate. Kids from the other side of the river get recruited more because they are better football players that project better at the next level. There may be a couple of kids from this 2016 class that get a look at D1, but I doubt any of them would be at the RB position. These junior days are honestly irrelevant, just like on campus visits made by kids during the season that aren't officials. As you said, wait until after the season starts and look for offers, not visits and not letters. I think I could get an invite to a junior day, and I am old and slow. Oh, and by all means do not listen to UK guy. Not sure there is anyone less informed about the process.

Highlands vs Beechwood
Last year when they hosted a tripled header with Moeller and CC. Nothing gets more reaction that when you point out that Highlands may not have the best at everything. Agree on Meinken, that goes without saying and is a travesty. I stand by my opinion on HHS (or Ft Thomas Park, or whatever it is). I have played on it, coached on it, and watched countless games on that field, it is not good.

Highlands vs Beechwood
Choosing a "better" field to play this game is irony at its finest. Cooper owns the worst field in the area, but these two are close second, and I would personally put Highlands field right there with Cooper. It's a dump. Has been, always will be

Highlands vs Beechwood
One last thing, I thought BW was playing no home games this year due to construction?
-
Highlands vs Beechwood
My guess is you will see multiple pitchers for both sides. Fieger probably gets the start, he should be the #1 this year. He is most consistent on the staff. Combs and Stringer will be other primary starters. We be interested to see if Tigers have found a SS. Offense will be loaded. Highlands is clear cut #1 , can BW establish #2 early?

2015 Top players to lookout for in NKY
Article was about-in the opinion of that author-the best players in NKy. It wasn't about the players to watch on every team in the area. He put together a good list. Could more have been added? Sure. Again, danger of compiling lists is someone always gets left out. I am sure another article will come up, a NKy preview, that will run through every team and mention each teams key players.

Beechwood wins ??? Class A State Titles in the next 4 years?
If you are heading into your senior year and have the talent and aspiration to play and it get drafted into the league, there is not a better tournament to improve your stock than in September in Jupiter, Fl. Maybe these kids want to experience that? Can't play football and remain sharp enough on the diamond to compete down there, it's a crazy environment with at least a hundred scouts at each game, especially when the Midland boys roll in. I agree that colleges will honor the ship even with energy-heck signing day is before thhe season over. However, not playing down there does hurt your exposure opps with the MLB scouts

2015 Top players to lookout for in NKY
Has he redirected his next level focus? Have seen on Twitter he is attending some junior days for football. I get those are somewhat meaningless, but man that kid is a football player. Nice player on the diamond too, but true standout on gridiron. BUT, I completely agree he should be on that list, but a lot of kids were left off-thats what happens whenever you make a list.

Beechwood wins ??? Class A State Titles in the next 4 years?
Didn't take it that way, and I am in no way refuting what you read. Would be nice if one of the Beechies chimed in, because that would certainly change the conversation.

Beechwood wins ??? Class A State Titles in the next 4 years?
Seems to be an every year topic. At this point you have to assume they are going to play. Both were already committed prior to last football season and both played, why quit now? Most colleges coaches are coming out publicly that they prefer multi sport athletes, though I have no specific knowledge about either UL or UK bassball stance.

2015 Juniors
Sorry, guess i can't edit for some reason my response. My other reason for questioning is that I don't see the same #s coming from other states. I know we have great baseball here, but so do others. This is from the Ohio PBR showcase over the weekend of their top velos. Now, I honestly have not looked to see if the age groups were the same, but even if not Ky #s are consistently higher than others. Top players in the 9th region
That link is only mid season, not that it matters. I agree with Clyde, Will Heppler will be on the list, and will be the best hitter in the lineup. No reason a DH can't be considered the best player.

2015 Juniors
Just my eyes. I have been to other events and watched kids like Braden Combs and Zach Shannon hit, and they were in the low 90's. Was difficult to see the ball come off their bats. I very well could be wrong, but I watch these kids and IMO there is no comparison. Combs puts on the most impressive cage I've seen, and I saw on Twitter he is in the low 90s at his Midland workouts. At the one last winter I witnessed pop ups register high 90's, I am 100% sure that one was wrong.
