I love it when we quote HS stats. All at the mercy of the scorekeeper, I get a special kick out of the HS ERA #s . This year, the top players in the region are: Ramey and Whitford Combs Stringer and Slusher Harrison and Kerns Zieglemeyer Purnell Siebert Ty Lyons Guess stats are too objective for me. Too many generous score keepers. Too many at bats against 70 MPH pitching. Too much leeway with ERA

Nice year, but Ramey is the POY. BW has had the benefit of seeing a lot of less than stellar pitching in the effort to neutralize the big 3. Slow is the key. Ramey has had a great year against all pitching, not just lower level. When the pitching ramps up, the cream comes to the crop. BW has only seen a couple big timers this year, and the Big 3 have answered the bell when that happens. Pay attention to quality at bats vs quality pitching.

Cool story. Stringer 2200 yds, 44 Tds. All while sharing carries, very good chance he could become tops all time in both categories at BW. And he's never been the sole carrier, like your guy. Stats are irrelevant. He's not the best back in NKy, thats Smith, but you have no ability to discern numbers from talent, so please at least mention him.

Highlands is the best and deepest team in 9th. Doesn't always mean they will be the winner, but their really cannot be an question.

H Recruiting is my job. I was only referring to those two, not the board. And I am right. I've said in a prior post what I thought of the Ryle kid, but yes, D1 coaches do just show up to see. They wander into schools all the time, it's their job. Does not mean an offer is coming, means they want to take a look. No different than attending a junior day.

HS stats mean zero. They are for dads to get on message boards and brag about there kids and coaches to attempt to bring their program some pub. Dale Mueller didn't care nor need either.

The village two year olds are at it again. No matter how much you guys want to will your guy, there is one D1 legit RB in the state. He doesn't live in Nky. Both of you have proven you know zip about how the recruiting process works, so can you please tags this to personal messaging and stop cluttering the board?

Your little sisters of the poor schedule may have had something to do with that, and that's an insult to the sisters.

This field is going to be one of the best places to play in NKy. I have always loved the feel and atmosphere of a night game down there. No secret it has lost some of that due to the condition of the field, but that's being rectified with the turf. Bravo to CIPS and all those involved. Who knows, having a nice place to play could play a role in restoring Holmes baseball.

Yea, because that's exactly what that post said. Tell me who your team is, I will say something nice about them so you feel respected.

Jake Ohmer is the real deal. He didn't get a ton of pub last year, so I will call him emerging. Great athlete and is finally getting some size. Has the arm strength and pop to play at next level. I would think his first love is hoops, but along with Jake Whitford is the best SS in NKy and just a sophomore. He is another example of a kid playing up a grade or two all his life. Paying off now.

Bankemper pitched first game for Tigers, Slusher closed. Rowe started game 2, Nussbaum closed. BW really mixed it up game 2, sat a bunch of kids and played backups at SS, 2b, C, LF and RF. As for hitting, usual. BW top 3 of Stringer Slusher and Combs really are fun to watch. None of them are absolutely on fire, but you see spurts of why they are what they are. If thy all three start hitting together, will be fun. I think they had 9 or 10 hits combined in this one. Stringer hit a ball game 1 that was as hard as I've seen over LF head in a straight line. Slusher just flipped a ball to wall in RC, and Combs is just a hitter. Ball State coach was there watching Slusher like a hawk. He didn't disappoint. Hamilton looked good for BW too. If they can get a couple more kids hot, they can threaten HHS for 9th.

Winning Louisville is the toughest part of 6a. After that there is a bunch of mediocrity. I think 5a is deeper now with the recent additions, but Louisville 6a has the best team nearly every year.

Does anyone know where the District 35 is being held? Of the 4 teams only Cov Cath has a field, and it's not their turn. Thomas More? Freedom?

Did Krumps play his JV again? That's a really surprising score.

Did the big 6'8 sophomore from West pitch? Would have liked to have seen that. He's top 5 rated in his class in the PBR footprint. On a side note, I wish they would make a concerted effort to not have this on derby weekend. Saturday at the All A is a great day of watching baseball, but if forced to choose I choose to head to Churchill.

It's one thing to blindly support your guy, but when you start directly calling out kids you have crossed the line. Grow up, you're talking about a freaking HS kid dude. We are blessed to have a lot of really good ones, would be hard fought to find a better combined group in one area. Abernethy at HC is a really good one too. Had virtually no OL but kept battling. Stringer at Beechwood had 1300 yds and 28 tds and split carries with a senior. Arnold kid at Holmes is a beast on both sides. IMO from a college viewpoint it's Smith, England, and Armstrong in that order. Don't think England is a college tailback, but he's too big and too talented. He will play somewhere. He looks like a LB to me.

Tigers 3-0 vs their neighbors down the hill this week. Frosh JV and V all with wins. Good week.

I do agree with those that say HS sports are becoming less and less relevant on the recruiting front. In baseball, get your kid in the best organization in the summer they can play for, and travel. In football, it's camps. Hoops it's the AAU circuit. All these give coaches an opportunity to see Jr. Vs kids with like skills and size. I watched a highly recruited kid the other night go 0-3 in HS baseball vs a kid chucking it up there at about 73. Heard some saying he was not as advertised. My comment to them was it didn't matter, after HS kid will never see that again. Later is same day watched him hit three ropes of kid committed to Ohio State, 88 mph. HS just matters very little anymore.

I But could that 6'5 kid have worked on his perimeter game and court skills and became a guard? It's both. Lots of 6'5 HS football players not playing D1. Lots of kids have been blessed with genetics, but didnt have the work ethic to separate themselves.

BW already traveling to Somerset this year, and still rumors abound they are playing Raceland up here this year and down there next. Either way, that would be two very substantial bus rides in a year. Could have something to do with it.

In this pool, Moe was unbeaten. BW went 2-1, X 1-2, SK 0-3.

That game had one of the best atmospheres for a HS game you will find. IMO SK is the best spectator venue around, add in a night game with Big Moe it was hopping. Midland Tomahawks were every where and showed off. Stringer with a rocket 2b and a 2 RBI single, Slusher a HR, Combs 3 Hits. For Moe Butz with a couple hits and runs, Graves with 2 hits and 4 RBI. The best of them all did not play, as PO Nick Bennett was not on hill. Fun to watch. Cream certainly rises to top in big games.
