Cecil for Etown was hit late out of bounds twice on the same play, once as he was going out of bounds and again about 5 seconds later. It was on Adair sideline so hard to see what happened but a few minutes of pushing and shoving followed. Adair got 2 personal fouls on play, Etown got an unsportsmanlike and player ejected for leaving their sideline as coaches went across field to break it up. Rest of game was a little chippy and some talking. I didnt hear a coach tell a kid to meet him in parking lot, not saying it didnt happen, just didnt hear it. After handshake Etown sang fight song, had their team prayer and all of Adair, players coaches and fans were at midfield. Something was said as Etown was walking off, someone responded and there was some yelling back and forth. From my perspective several Adair coaches and players were standing pretty far from their team huddle watching Etown leave and it seemed like they were waiting for chance to say something. Etown was pretty fired up, Adair pretty down, lots of emotions causing dumb decisions in end.

Place all the blame on Etown if that makes you feel better. Good luck the rest of the season.

Awful lot of extra curricular activity from #7 and #10 from Adair and the Adair coach with the backwards red visor also. Take your loss and move along.

Have you ever been to a St. X or Trinity JV game where they played a Varsity starter in a JV game? That is the issue we are discussing, taking someone like the Darnell kid last year or the Chappell kid the last two weeks and starting them Freshmen, JV and Varsity. If they are good enough to start on Friday, give other kids the reps on Monday and Thursday so you can develop some depth. I get really tired of reading the BE staff complain every week in the Pioneer News about all their injuries and lack of depth when the use tactics like this and have created the lack of depth themselves.

I've heard a similar sentiment. Kids are quitting as freshmen and sophomores because they aren't getting any JV reps and opportunities to play. Football is a strange game, you don't know how those kids will develop over 4 years. I would think you'd want to keep as many around as possible.

Cant compete consistently at the 5A level doing that.

I will also add, a kid my start Fridays on offense, but might play some JV on the defensive side of the ball or vice versa. I don't think you have a lot to gain by playing Friday night kids more than a half on Mondays.

The best programs I've seen play all Juniors and Sophomores in JV unless they are a Friday night starter. I think it is important for kids to play with their grade level group. However, I would use freshmen and JV games to get as many kids experience and playing time as possible. I think that is how you keep kids involved and develop depth and experience. If a kid is rotating in on Fridays (not just blow out minutes) I wouldn't play them more than a quarter or half, to make sure other kids are getting opportunities for game experience. To me W-L records at that level are irrelevant.

That makes zero sense to me. One, you risk getting a Friday night starter hurt on Monday. Two, that should be an opportunity for other kids to get experience and develop. Not sure who that benefits.

North Bullitt hasn't played South Oldham yet, they're still playing for the #1.

Did I hear correctly that BE played some of their varsity starters in JV game Monday? Heard QB played (I understand he's a freshman, but if you're going to play him on Fridays), a starting Olineman and starting LB. Maybe that's why their struggling with injuries and depth.

Read in Pioneer News Bullitt East finished game against South Oldham with a freshman at QB. Got a feeling they will try to grind it out with Dossey and Miles and eat as much clock as possible and play field position. I don't think East has anyone with the speed to contain James and Walls, but North has turned the ball over a few times. I think North big turnover advantage it can be really ugly. If East wins the turnover battle it will be closer, but I don't think they have enough offense to win. I'll pick North 21 - 7.

Boyle County is not better than St. X this season.

Not saying they are guaranteed victory, but Central beat St. X this year. I think they would give Lex Cath and Boyle lots of problems, especially if they have to travel to Central.

Didn't see a thread yet for what is typically a pretty big rivalry game. . .

Etown started slow against Edmonson and Hart. Adair can put them in a hole if they dont have a better start.

Heard an extremely poor crowd on what ended up being a rain free night.

If BE didn't turn ball over not that surprising. Central has played no defense all year and the last two weeks their whole offense has been Dukes running around, which was probably hard in the muck.

JCPS is off Friday for St. James art fair, so play on Thursday because Friday no school. And if you dont live in Louisville Area, St. James is a big deal.

Haven't seen them this year, but Fairdale had a very solid team last year. With all the rain last week I can see 17-7 being a respectable score for Fern Creek. Consider, Central beat St. X and only beat Waggener 21-6 in the rain.

I know Deuce attended Parkview Middle School where he played basketball with my brother. I didn't say anything about him not being an outstanding person.

There was an altercation. After the regular season game Mr. Wakefield gave Coach Beatty a strong handshake and slap on the back while celebrating the Male victory. Coach Beatty returned the handshake and back slap after the playoff game. Mr. Wakefield proceeded to yell at Coach Beatty and follow him to the Trinity sideline where the players were singing the fight song. Mr. Wakefield and a Trinity parent ended up yelling at each other and were separated.
