Have to agree. Our boys have been told for the past few years that they don't play any good teams and they wouldn't be successful if they moved up a class. As you can see everyone has taken that personal. It's no offense to any of the schools in 2a but these kids on a mission to prove a ton of people wrong and NCC is the team standing in their way to silence alot of haters. When I say haters, I'm not referring to bloggers on this topic. I'm referring to ppl in our surrounding area that completely hate our school. That don't wanna see them succeed. I even heard former mayfield players bash the program and say the same thing.

Yea he is!!! Those tackles where he chases down the running backs in the secondary are epic!! Can't wait to see that kid play. Hope my cards don't have too much trouble with him.

l Yeah I have to agree. Their workouts rutines are insane. I just so happen to workout in the facility one day and I watch half of the rutines. Champ has those boys working non-stop. He even joins in with the boys.

I wanted to see Danville at state really bad. That's just from a former player standpoint. Not being able to get over the hump against them for years built up alot of animosity for that program. Still much respect for them. State is State and I'm excited for it every year regardless of the opponent.

I have to agree with you on this one. I I graduated in 05 and I think with sped we had it was being utilized with proset offense. It was very predictable. I almost believe if we were running spead back then and utilizing the more of the players on the sidelines, there would have been more state championship appearances. I appreciate that quote too from the legendary toothpick.

Revenge game

That game was worth every penny. Mayfield defense, after the second half, was nothing short of great. I honestly think OC had a better offense but that's just my opinion. I really like DS class. Great fans. They never missed a beat rooting their Colts on. Great season and nothing but respect. I loved the Johnson kid also. I thought he lived up to expectations. I think he has a better arm then what we saw tonight. He Probably would have had a better game if it wasn't raining. Go Cards

My thing is this. WB returned a ton of kids and MF lost a ton. Mayfield still came out on top. Yes, WB was ten times better than expected but honestly the better team wins championship football games. No luck in that. Each teams practice their craft every week. When you get to that stage you've put in enough time the those field goals should be second nature. It's not the other teams luck that he clearly missed filed goals in pressure moments. It's just not. our kicker held his own all season and executed down the stretch in a big game. You outsiders constantly take away from these kids instead of congratulating them. It's honestly a shame. Move on.

Shocked the heck out of me how this game turned out. I actually love every second of it. I said before I just hope it's competitive and I got that plus more. Hats of to WB. I obviously see there are MF haters waiting to see them fall. But much like most of the season, they fought through adversity and pulled it out. Congrats from your fellow alumni cards.

Congratulations to Pulaski. Dillion Reed didn't really throw the ball great all season. From all the graves highlights I've seen all season, it looked like 90 percent of the passes he threw were ducks. Anyways, congratulations to gc never in a million years did I see that school playing for a state championship. They've came a long ways over the years.

To add on to what this guy said, mayfield was number all year. They went into BW with a chance of losing this game. Oversized up front and gave up a ton of yards off of penalties all year long. It could have easy been one of those night were they gave up a few Td's and penalties and just rolled over and said maybe next year. These kids have thought state championship all year and that's what drove the to making past bw. Anything less then that is a failure.

I just hope WB is healthy. I just want to see a competitive championship game.

The Newport win is the only one I'd consider being a reasonable win but I just think nothing could have prepped them like we've been prepped for this moment. I feel like maybe I'm being a little too confident. I just don't see a scenario other then mayfield making a ton of mistakes, were they lose this game. I just dont want to be arrogant about it. That's just the only way they could lose

Yeah that's what I'm wondering...other then Russellville our district is really weak. That's why we play a tougher no district schedule.
