This happens ever so often thru the years. A team has their best team ever, and they think since this is their best team ever, that they are the best team ever. Desales' fans are happy for, and proud of, their best team ever. That lofty perch you all have earned is where Mayfield lives, for the past thirty years. You may win, you may lose. But you aint nothing special. Not to us. Teams are always good in the semi-finals. We are used to playing teams at the peak of their success. Those teams, including yours, are not used to playing us. This week's prediction....the colts get branded with a big ole red M.

I also want to say great job by the coaching staff. OC really sold out on stopping the run, almost daring us to pass. I thought the right mix was called, enough runs to keep them honest and forcing them to stay committed to stopping. Great recognition to not kick to number 3. And finally, just an outstanding defensive gameplan and execution. Finally, I said in the pre-game thread that when I get a bit drunk, we always seem to win and I am proud to say I did my part.

I know one time he got it and probably wished he didn't. That was a huge hit on him, saw him doubled over on the sideline after. He came right back after, so tough and fast. Glad he didn't get injured.

It's Friday! GO BIG RED! This has been a good thread without too much offense given either way. But talkin' time bout done. I have noticed that when I get kinda drunk, that Mayfield usually wins. I promise the team and all the other fans I will do my part tonight.

I don't know. I think we (collectively) have given OC pretty good credit here, so the comparison misses the mark.....this week.

I can't calm down, this is football! I need to lapse into a four day coma or something. We are not going to win the title every year, we might not win it this year. We will be in the hunt every year though. If a team is better than us, they can beat us. I don't think the one way/two way/tiredness thing is a factor at all. Is it Friday yet?

It is not as if we played a schedule full of 1A teams. The only 1A teams we played were in the district and playoffs. I would wager money that in most of our 1A years, the schedule we played was more difficult than the schedule played by 90% of 2A teams.

Not going to trash talk, you have a fine team, I think this has the makings of a real fight. However, there will be no breaking of Mayfield's will.

Going to be a long week. Ready for this game now.

I hope Stringer gets back. Hate to see players injured late in season.

We have some outstanding playmakers, perhaps the best collection of them in a long time. And we all knew this team was young, and going to struggle for a while. It might have taken this team a while longer to get into form than I had anticipated, but they are there now. You could just feel it in the second half of the Caldwell game. I think having Bright out in the middle maybe delayed the coming together process somewhat. OC has been great all year, and under the radar. I think this is gonna be a nail-biter. I hope so, cause if we are gonna get a title, we will need playing under elimination experience. We got lucky with having home field and young team in the same year. Next year, these kids will be ready to go on the road to do this. Anyway, picking the cards in a close one. Speedy playmakers the difference. GO BIG RED

Congrats to Butler on their season. Saw multiple acts of good sportsmanship from players on both teams, nice to see that.

I like how Murray, down by four touchdowns, ....scores TD with 5 seconds to go, goes for two (lol) and attempts an onside kick. That's Murray being Murray.

Looked good in all facets.
