From NK I would say the freshman from Beechwood I think his name is Castleman is already a special player who will get even better as he goes through the rest of his high school career.

The biggest problem for Lloyd unfortunately has been in-game or situational coaching. They seem to never make adjustments to the opposing teams adjustments and the play calling more often than not is dreadful. However, coach Turner is very well liked and extremely respected in the community and has the program headed in the right direction. Tonights game against GC and next week versus Conner will certainly show how much the Juggs have improved heading into district play.

As to Lloyd's qb status, I am under the impression it will likely be a combination of Runion and Fann. I guess which ever one has the hot hand will get the most snaps. In LMHS first four games Fann was the starter for three of those games, while Runion was the qb for the Juggs last game against Holmes. Runion is more of a pure athlete that can run really well, and Fann throws a beautiful deep ball, but needs to improve on his footwork and decision making in order to cut down on drive killing interceptions. Runion seems to struggle at times with "touch", as in overthrowing or underthrowing even wide open receivers. Both QBs are capable of leading the Juggs to victory, but they must continue to do the little things which will aid in their progression at the QB position.

Anyone familiar with GC, as in what kind of team speed do they possess ? Simply curious

Thus will be a huge test for lloyd. GC has over 1500 rushing yards on the season and a stable of 3or 4 nice rbs. Can lloyd take away GCs running game, or at least slow it down? Lloyd will need to cut down on the ints if they plan on operating out of the spread. Tough game to call,

This appears to be the exact game at the perfect time for NCC to start clicking on offense. NCC already has a top notch defense so points for HC will be scarce. Smith and Harris will run, run, and run some more. IMO, the Breds put a running clock on an improved Harrison County team by the 3rd quarter. I can really envision this game as being the start of NCC's offense closing the gap on its own outstanding defense.

IMO WV will win the district, but not one single team from district 5 will make any noise in the playoffs. I will go so far as to say that 5 will struggle to notch even one win over 6 in the first round of the playoffs. The development of Newport and WV will be intetesting to track as the playoff picture unfolds.

Lost lots of talent to graduation. It is a rebuilding year plain and simple. WV has been in each game they have played thus far this season. There has been no quit by either the boys or coaches. IMO, theses things happen and considering how young the program actually is it is not shocking that WV us having a down season so far. A lot can change once district play starts. The ship will right itself.

Brossart has had a nice season so far and I am happy for a Mustangs program that was on life support last season to come out firing playing sound football. However, IMO Brossart would lose to Cambell Co, Conner, and even Lloyd Memorial. Dont get me wrong BB has a good team, especially when you consider the number of kids on the roster.

Owen Co is a great atmosphere for Friday Night Football. I have only been to about 10 OC games the past 25 years and each time the fans have been great and everyone gets into the game, regardless of score. Its a shame if this type of thing is happening because it will certainly alienate some quality athletes. Play the kids that are best for the team.

The Juggs seem to have big problems on special teams and an average defense, while holmes appears to be showing signs of improvement with each passing week. However, Lloyd's offense will cut down on the turnovers and produce more yards and points than Holmes', so Juggs win by 13. 34-21 final.

Badtimes, great post. Thank you for putting this in the proper frame of reference. No, I am not being sarcastic, sometimes us passionate fans get caught up in the game and get emotional, but the real truth is all of this is about the young men on the field and their respective coaches. Both teams played hard and will continue to do so this season.

Yeah the 2 GC tds were called back b/c of an illegal block and a blatant holding call. And people keep posting about helmets ripped off and I only witnessed 1 helmet come off and that did not appear malicious at all. The Refs were just as rough on the Juggs as they were on the Braves. Also, you were right, it was very clear that Lloyd was the dominant team today.

The Juggs got "robbed" just as much as the braves, lloyd also had 2 tds called back. The refs did a much better job today than last nights crew. I only saw 1 helmet come off between the two halves of football so I am not sure what you are talking about. You say the Braves won, but the scoreboard said otherwise. Also if Lloyd would of not self destructed with the 2 ints deep in Braves territory and the questionable fumble on the blocked punt then the score would not have been close at all. Lloyd generated much more total offense than GC in this contest. Grant Co has a good team that plays D, runs well, and has excellent special teams. When their pass game catches up with the rest of this team watch out. I think the Braves will give many teams fits and send quite a few teams home unhappy. One more thing: Grant Co has an excellent head coach. He addressed both teams after the game and the message he imparted to both teams was positive and great to hear. Outstanding Job of teaching young men from both teams about life coach Spille (if I spelled his name wrong I apologize ). Best of luck to both teams moving forward.

The first half of this game was officiated very, very, poorly. The crew was flag happy, (some were deserved), had the ball spotted incorrectly on several occasions, and the 2shortest delay of game penalties (against both teams)I have ever witnessed. The entire second quarter was played while it was lightning which was somewhat disconcerting. I hope when they resume both teams can clean up the infractions and tge refs keep the flags in their pockets.

I actually think Lloyd only fields a varsity squad and a froshmore squad. The froshmore squad is mostly 9th graders, but there is some 10 graders on it also. I believe last season the Lloyd froshmore played some schools freshman teams, such as Beechwood and NCC, and other schools JV team, such as Scott and Holmes.

Thats ridiculous.Lloyd had a goal line stand against Beechwood and prevailed. Also, If Lloyd could not stop BW then the Tigers would have had the Juggs on a running clock. Take away Lunsford's 60 yard run in the 4th and lloyd still had over 80 rushing yards. Beechwood is an extremely well coached team with talent, but the game was much closer than the final score. Lloyd had first and goal from the 7 and had a BAD snap that resulted in a 20 yard loss. BW also scored 22 points off ints. BW has owned the Juggs over the years and manages to get into their heads and yet Lloyd did not get shut out in the 2nd half. I am so glad these two teams will play again next season and at BW no less .

I dont understand the whole Lloyd must develop the run game. Lloyd had both more passing yards and rushing yards than Beechwood (stats khsaa) for the game. That loss came down to the players poor job on open-field tackling, and coaching errors such as going for it on 4th down on their own side of the field, and the lack of adjustments to their passing game which resulted in the 4 ints. Im not taking anything away from Beechwood because they are a solid team and they git the win. IMO opinion Grant co is going to have the same problem as last years Juggs team. Lloyd beat lesser opponents handily, but were out-classed by NCC and Newport. Lloyd wins 36-25
