  1. Obviously you have never seen the kid play. He plays nothing like his older brother. Completely different players.
  2. Tier 1: 1. Dunbar 1a. Lafayette I believe these two are head and shoulders above the rest on paper. Dunbar has loads and loads of talent and Lafayette has alot of experienced pieces returning and one of the best young coaches in the state. Coach Mendenhall is a future star. Best coach in the region besides Billy Hicks and Allen Feldhaus. Tier 2: 3. Bryan Station - Dishman and Davis are great players. Dishman is going to have a monster year. My pre-season pick for player of the year. Should top two fall apart, BS could get to RUPP. 4. Scott County - Lots of young talent. On the rise again. Might not be this year but in two years they will be loaded. Like their upside. Billy Hicks is a master. 5. LCA - Rode, King and Hill are a solid nucleus. Wonder how Rode and King will be in new more aggressive/scoring type roles after graduation of a good group. Probably on the rise. Anxious to see how Coach Valentine does in year 2 after having the best team in the history of the school. Can they beat Lafayette or Dunbar in February? Tier 3: 6. Henry Clay - Return some quality. Could be ok with time. 7. Madison Central - Great coaching and soft district. Lock for region tourney where anything can happen. 8. Lexington Catholic - ???? biggest question mark for me. Lost great group to graduation. Return very little experience. Probably too low at 8 but can they beat Lafayette or Dunbar in February? 9. Woodford - really respect the coach. good young group. a few years away I would guess. I agree with you Joker, lot of this depends on where some of these kids end up going to school....
  3. the 98 class was also very good.... JP Blevins - UK Todd Tackett - UK David Graves - Notre Dame Shawn Fields - Georgia/EKU JR Van Hoose - Marshall Jaron Brown - Pitt Erik Brown - UL Quinton Bailey - UL Wes Burtner - Belmont Derek Robinson - Western KY Casey Simpson - Western Ky/Campbellsville Jermaine Taylor - Gerorgetown College Harold Swanagan - Notre Dame Kyle Umberger - Morehead St Scott Mendenhall - Transy Im sure there are others... Great thread topic!!!!
  4. Ah...my bad!!! yes they will be very good!!!!
  5. Better than expected? They will be top 5 in state preseason!
  6. Why campbellsville? I thought he had D1 offers?
  7. Dunbar likely to be preseason top 5 in state. Complete standout on paper. Lafayette will be really good and have the best coach in the region not named hicks or feldhaus. Lex Cath will be down early in year because they are replacing a bunch of seniors but might be okay by year end. Scott Co will be better. Henry Clay will be good. Bryan Station will be good. Id say it comes down to Dunbar, Lafayette and Scott county if I had to pick right now.
  8. Charlotte Court 17U won the racing to rim event in Lexington I think.
  9. No offense to you Coach Q or Hoop Dreams or any other AAU program in the state but if Quentin Goodin and Eli Wright truly believe that not playing in the EYBL is their best option than they were given some bad advice. Plain and simple. I realize that their are other great programs (my son plays for one of them) out their but if you are a top kid in your state/class their is no better option. Especially this year when one of the tournaments is in your own state. Cheers to all the KY AAU programs though!!!! gives kids an opportunity to play at all levels.
  10. 100% agree. There are no better basketball players in the state than Braxton. There are better athletes.
  11. Anyone got a list of people that interviewed for this job?
  12. This is good data though not surprising. 5 most populated areas are 1-5 on this list if you consider covington, bowling green and owensboro account for all of those region wins. Generally more kids produce better teams. Good stuff though
  13. This kid is the best 8th grader in the state is he not? Yes he is playing with KYWA at state tourney. Kid has huge upside. I wonder how many of the 8th graders are affected by the new AAU rules? Would guess alot of them have to play up this year. I know Dontaie does not but would guess some pretty good ones do have to.
  14. Last I heard, Louisville Magic was going to have a 15U and 16U team but no older team.
  15. Who has a roster? Travelers 16u and 17U and Hoop Dreams 16U and 17U?
  16. Where can you find the attendance numbers per session. Id be curious to see the breakdown. KCC losing and Camron Justice being out of the tournament hurt the attendance for sure. I know people that were planning on going just to see him and when they lost they didn't go. I also think that there was no appeal for the casual fan for most of the teams in the final four. That is no disrespect to Owensboro, Boyle, BG or Cov Cath, but most people don't know a thing about any of those teams and when there are no teams from 11th region or a ballard or Trinity (with D1 players) or a really good team from the mountains in the semi finals, the casual fan loses interest, at least that is my opinion. I agree with he cost comment as well. Too expensive when it is broadcast live on the internet. I really hope they don't move it from Rupp as it would lose some of its luster in my opinion.
  17. 1-Owensboro 1- Hopkinsville 1- cov cath 1- doss 1- Ballard 1- lex cath 1- bowling green 1- knott co 2- Hopkinsville 2- doss 2- ballard 2- knott co 3- doss 3- knott co 5- knott co TB - 138 Forgot tie breaker. Sorry
  18. 1-Owensboro 1- Hopkinsville 1- cov cath 1- doss 1- Ballard 1- lex cath 1- bowling green 1- knott co 2- Hopkinsville 2- doss 2- ballard 2- knott co 3- doss 3- knott co 4- knott co
  19. This is a really good first round game. I'll take catholic by 3 but wouldn't be surprised if Boyle won. Think catholic is better 1-8 but Boyle has best player on court. I'll pick the winner of this game whoever it is to make a deep run. Like both these teams.
  20. Exactly my point!!!! I haven't looked but I'll take your word for it that it is better than Calloway co schedule. . BUT......Calloway co doesn't have mr basketball. Calloway co isn't three time defending region champ. Calloway co isn't ranked in the top 3 in the state all season. Calloway isn't a fav in the state tourney. The fact that they didn't play any games in Louisville or Lexington is unbelievable to me. But I digress. Go PATRIOTS!!!!!!
  21. Shadow Mountian plays division 2 in Arizona and didn't win the state tournament. the team from Florida that beat you is a 3A school. Lincoln Co. is average at best and has no answer for Hall. Plus you caught them in the fourth game of the week for them. Im not knocking your team. I think you all have great players and I will be pulling for you once the 11th region is out next week but your schedule since January has been awful IMO. Maybe I am wrong but I dont think Jenkins and Belfry and buckhorn and breahitt co prepare you for the sweet 16. I dont think you can argue that.
