2015-16 11th Region

Featured Replies

Okay Central Kentucky folks, give us your thoughts on some of the top teams & players in the 11th Region for next season. LexCath survived this brutal Region last season. Do the Knights have the personnel to repeat? Scott County was down according to their lofty standards. Can they get back into contention in 2015-16? Dunbar seems like a team that could make a run.

Let's hear it! :thumb:

Dunbar likely to be preseason top 5 in state. Complete standout on paper. Lafayette will be really good and have the best coach in the region not named hicks or feldhaus. Lex Cath will be down early in year because they are replacing a bunch of seniors but might be okay by year end. Scott Co will be better. Henry Clay will be good. Bryan Station will be good.

Id say it comes down to Dunbar, Lafayette and Scott county if I had to pick right now.

I think Dunbar and Lafayette are the two early favorites.

Dunbar is probably somewhere between 1 and 3 preseason in the state.

Lafayette could be near the top 5 in the state. That might be a little high, but last year they proved they could beat anyone, and I believe they only lose 1 senior.

1st five

Dunbar-loads of talent

Scott Co-Robb kid and new athletes

Lafayette- big kid in middle, Lane

Bryan Station- Davis(?), quick

Madison Central-always tough

2nd Five

Lex Cath- see M Central

Woodford-ath wings

Henry Clay- reload, tisdale

LCA-King, Rode, DeMarcus

M Southern-guard play

Rest:

Sayre-Duby, Goodman

Model- Chin, quick quard

Tates Creek- patterson

Franklin Co- stewart (probably too low, will be tough)

Frankfort- Athletes!

Berea- Jackson building

Western Hills- Cody building

Not sure there is as much talent as in years past, but once again 11th will be ultra competitive from top to bottom. Teams from "rest" could end up NEAR top of region. But ultimately, looks like it is Dunbars to lose.

41st Woodford County/Western Hills

42nd Bryan Station/Scott County

43rd Dunbar/Lafayette

44th Madison Central/Madison Southern

Dunbar and Lafayette in the regional final. Dunbar will win a close one. Bryan Station is dangerous and as always a lot depends on how Scott County's off season goes. Henry Clay and Woodford County are my sleeper picks.

Dunbar will be a very tough out for anyone in the State. Mark it down, they will be better than expected.

Western Hills must have some guys transfer in because with what I have seen they wont be in the mix.

Frankfort and Franklin County both lose major players to graduation. Western Hills returns 6 of the top 7...that is what I based that on...along with the fact that Woodford County only beat them by one and two late in the season.

Coach Cody is doing a good job and has been building Western Hills well, but I expect that entire district to be wide open next season.

Far too early to declare a winner.

Better than expected? They will be top 5 in state preseason!

Was referring to Cameron Thomas.

Ah...my bad!!! yes they will be very good!!!!

No worries. I think Thomas gives them another dimension with his length.

I expect them to win the 11th so better than expected...pretty high expectation IMO. Addition of Thomas makes them a favorite when they get to Rupp.

Frankfort returns their top 2 scorers and rebounders. Also return back up point guard and 3 year player that was injured last season that played a little late in the season. With those 4 returning plus 2 sophmores that are good players I see Frankfort in the mix again in the 41st.
