  1. um, where does the money for capital improvements come from......ultimately must come from tax dollars.
  2. Both of these score would shock me and make the BGP pollsters look very bad! Panthers by at least 14
  3. That's awesome! Also a lot of respect for the Carrol County coach for taking the time to write the letter. I think Ludlow also shows a lot of school/community pride. I'm jealous of how tight some of these communities are.
  4. There is that one member of every family! :thumb:
  5. You could pick from about 15 guys that make serious contributions to the Tiger team. The good thing is that the boys all support each other. I'm really liking the camaraderie displayed by this team. Maybe we could all learn something from them!
  6. Based on what most of the Mayfield fans are saying this is not your typical Mayfield team but the appear to have a solid defense and that can take you a long way. It appears Mayfield may be more susceptible this year but the final outcome depends on how well the offense develops.
  7. You don't send your "A" reporter unless it is a big game!
  8. This one has the most votes for a game that I've seen all year!
  9. Personally I think all the polls should not publish who voted what way. Some seem private and some do not. I guess that is a box that is checked. UKfan#1 will probably pick Highlands next year if the poll is private.
  10. Reason I brought it up was beginning in the 6 class system, NKY class A was switched to the west. I still haven't seen a new region matchup grid but the fact they have a high district number compared to the west districts it makes sense they are in the east.
  11. Where are the folks with the Holmes info? We know Beechwood is improved (older) than last year. Holmes has a decent QB and a couple of good receivers. That said I expect a similar spread to last year (40-7). So Beechwood by 33-40 points!
  12. are there district/region playoff alignments set for 2015 yet? Will Highlands/Cov Cath be in the east or west?
  13. The Calpreps game predictors also said that Pikeville would beat everyone including Mayfield.
  14. I think there are only 7 regular season JV games on the schedule. I don't think Mescher showing up to kick for those would be a huge burden on him or his family. Who kicked when the current seniors were freshman? Last year the tigers had the senior Sletto doing varsity and the sophomore German doing JV. I don't think German was at Beechwood at that time.
  15. Seems kind of early to ask! Its only half way through the current season and I would probably have waited till at least after this weekends Highlands/Cov CAth game to see if Cov Cath should be included in the equation.
  16. The field is 53 yards wide but you don't go side to side. The QB usually doesn't even go all the way over to the coach. Need to cut your calculated distance in at least half. Other players run on/off the field depending on the package. They are usually sprinting. The QBs are usually jogging. Not saying one way or other is better. I have seen teams practice the same way so I assume that helps with their conditioning.
  17. Bet you do! Sept. 25, 1987 -- Newport Central Catholic’s defense recovered three fumbles and intercepted two passes in a 14-12 win over Highlands. NewCath took a 14-6 lead in the third quarter on a 1-yard TD run by Craig Cain. Late in the fourth quarter, Highlands scored on a 55-yard pass from senior quarterback Deron Blasingame to Quinn Stuempel. The Bluebirds went for a 2-point conversion to tie the score, but NewCath defensive back Glenn Meyers intercepted the pass to seal the win. **** I assume that "Quinn Stuempel" is same one who is a Beechwood parent with some very talented daughters.
  18. Wanted to bump this because it looks like the stats have been updated through last 9/21. NKY Coaches Main Page
  19. Beechwood does it that way. Been doing that way for a long time. I remember Pat Muth going back and forth. Possibly Jeff Wera also. So that's back to early 2000s.
  20. I can't believe he is only predicting a 1 point victory! :thumb:
  21. Don't be surprised of you see this guy coming over to the visitor stands during all Cov Cath home games!
  22. Thanks. Was starting to think it involved using one of these!
  23. Probably scared of SK! :-) It was mentioned in last weeks prediction thread that there were numerous injuries on the starting teams. Add a few more for JV and you can get 7-10.
  24. If all these teams are the best in their district we will not likely see any changes over the next 5 weeks!
  25. I'd like to apologize to the Franklin County cheerleaders and fans on behalf of Beechwood. Some of our students ran through the cheerleaders with the T-I-G-E-R-S flags after the last score. Normally this wouldn't happen with our students, don't know why it did on Friday. I did notice our Asst Principal who usually keeps and eye on things like this was not in the area at the time. This did happen one other time on support the troops night when some of our nations bravest (soldiers) did it. They were caught up in the moment!
