Hickle has some family issues and Whitt went to West, so it's not like there's some internal issues at all Whitt has a parent who lives over there so if he wants to he should be eligible and will be a nice addition to the Comets!

Okay so if Hickle and Whitt are gone, I'm not as optimistic at all now.

I actually didn't know that but I guess he transferred to Lewis, so that makes things really interesting. Whitt played backup QB last year.

East loses Darin Phillips (RB) on the offensive side of the ball, and himself and Peyton Wilburn (LB) on the defensive side of the ball. East brings back a lot more than they lost however. Offense: Junior to be QB Taylor Hickle returns to start his third year. Junior to be Josh Ford ran for 500 yards last year and can play fullback and half back. Has been working hard in the weight room. Senior Dalton Whitt returns on offense; the running back/receiver plays all over the field and has 3 years of varsity experience and 2 being a starter. Other "skill guys" they return are Sophomore to be Eric Carter (RB), Junior to be WR Caiden Bond, RB Nathan Griffith(Senior), WR Caleb James (Senior), Cameron Rowe WR Junior. Best OL will likely be Tanner Duncan who will be a senior. Tall, strongest on the team, played LT last year. Other names that pop up that return are Thomas Barker(senior), (junior)Levi Felty, Gabe Limings (Junior), Luke Sparks (Sophomore), and Camren Staton (Senior). Kieran Fankell and Drake Dunn have experience playing fullback and tight end and Josh Salmons will likely start at tight end. Line play will be improved and Hickle as a junior should be able to lead the team from under center on the field. Josh Ford will get the bulk of the carries and the offense will be about 80-20 in favor of the run plays. Dalton Whitt is explosive. Defense: Drake Dunn, Kane Phillips, Dalton Whitt, Kieran Fankell, Gabe Limings, Caiden Bond, and Josh Salmons all return with starting experience on the defensive side. Drake Dunn will be a senior who will start at one of the linebacker spots, Kieran Fankell will take another returning for his junior year. Gavin Wilburn, Josh Ford, and Timmy Tackett will all play some at linebacker this year. At defensive back the a Raiders return (Safety) Dalton Whitt and (Corner) Kane Phillips who are multi year starters. Filling in the other spots will be a combo of Cameron Rowe, Caiden Bond, Taylor Hickle (may play solely QB again), Caleb James, Braiden Mara, Levi Parsons, and Kaleb Wears. My money would be on Rowe or Bond at Corner and I could see Parsons playing some safety. On the defensive line with Gabe Limings and Josh Salmons returning expect to see Thomas Barker, Tanner Duncan, Bobby Phillips, Luke Sparks, Camren Staton, and Levi Felty competing for playing time. Will be the first full offseason under HC Champlin and the junior heavy team has a lot of seniors who have played significant roles or started. Not expecting them to beat Johnson Central obviously, but I could see wins over every other team in the district (even Ashland). This team is better and more experienced than last year and hopefully will get back to the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. I'm feeling positive about East Carter football this year!

You're awfully negative man. Who would you suggest to have got the job, McPeek? Also, this "Unathletic" area sent six athletes to division one schools this year and a few to NAIA. It may not be Louisville but to say that there's no athletes here would be wrong.

With the loss of Brown that really takes a toll on the Tomcats playoff run. Tomcats should still finish number 2 in the district though, especially with Greenup losing their HC.

Didn't expect to see one without Johnson Central in the top ten.

I think Raceland will be a lot better than they were last year

I've never watched them play, but it has produced results for him. I guess idea of it is to decrease the yards per play required for a first down from 3.33 to 2.5. He probably has a solid offense. I've heard of teams punting every down unless in good field position so their offense doesn't lose them the game.

He said that East-Greenup are both top 3 or 4 in the region, he never said anything bad about Greenup.

If they were to promote an assistant off the current staff any idea who it would be? Sucks for the Greenup seniors who have busted their tails because it's almost April and they don't have a HC

That's what I meant, was that Greenup is the favorite. West is just my pick

West Carter is my pick. Ben Jordan and Kaden Rose lead a very talented junior class. If not them I'll take Greenup, but with that junior class West could be looking at the region finals the next two years. Problem for them is Jordan can't pitch every game.

Elliott has had the same group playing together since they were 6 years old.

You should see the job he did at Greenup. When he got there I think they had 15 players on a 4A team. Give the guy a chance he will impress

Yeah I exaggerated a bit saying 5. Hopefully Mullins can provide some stability. If he does what he did at Greenup, at Dunbar they will be successful.

Exaggerated a little bit, but yes I am serious. These high school kids only have so much time with the coaches. Hate placing the blame on the amount of plays. Ivan McGlone only ran about 6 different plays. Even at the college level Auburn only runs about 6 different run plays just dressed differently with motion and formations.
