While we are all waiting for the season to begin, who are your top 5 candidates for 2016 Mr. Football?

RB Trajon Bright. Mayfield

Zero chance he wins but Jedrick Willis seems to be the best football player next year.

Agree on Willis.

Top 4 I've seen back in no order:

Phelps-Paintsville RB

Brown-Ryle QB

T Dalton-Lawrence Co WR Athlete

R Horton-Belfry DTackle

Walker Wood or Tanner Morgan

Horton is the best I've seen. Wood and Morgan are very good. Phelps is good as well. Dalton is a freak athlete at WR.

Would be nice to see Willis or Horton win it. Give it to a lineman.

I would love to see a lineman win it also, since I played it myself and they need some love. Has a lineman ever won it?

Jamele Caruthers, RB from Bowling Green High, should lead his team to another possible run of a state championship. Has a chance to become alltime scoring leader for the Purples. Consider this about Jamele: The Purples run a spread offense. If he were in the backfield of a run heavy scheme his numbers would be off the charts.

Caruthers should make the "finalist list" for Mr Football and if he breaks the BGHS record with another ring it would be hard not to give it to him.

Opening can of worms but I think he is the main reason that South Warren is waiting as long as possible to face the Purples.

Simon Kenton QB Cameron Racke he is a couple tds away from joining the 30/30 club. By season end he will be 40/40 club or possibly 50/50 club.

If I had to put a "WATCH LIST" together like the CFB Awards:

QB Walker Wood, Lafayette

OL Jedrick Willis, Lafayette

QB Tanner Morgan, Ryle

DL Ray Horton, Belfry

OL/DL Cole Bentley, Belfry

RB Jamele Caruthers, Bowling Green

WR Jake Johnson, Pulaski County

DB/WR Dante Hendrix, Cooper

RB Kayron Namvong, South Warren

QB Ryder Litten, South Warren

QB Desmond Ridder, St. Xavier

RB Trajon Bright, Mayfield

QB Shane Burns, Caldwell County

QB/DB Jalen Johnson, Hopkinsville

QB/DB Rex Henderson, Butler County

QB Patrick Henschen, NewCath

RB Treyton Humfleet, Bell County

RB Dillon Wheatley, LCA

TE/DE Jacob Paulson, CAL

RB/DB Demaurie VanCleave, Danville

QB/DB Zach Dampier, Danville

RB Kent Phelps, Paintsville

WR/DB Timmy Dalton, Lawrence County

DB Jairus Brents, Waggener

QB Larry Harper, Waggener

RB Landon Board, Owensboro

WR/DB Keyron Catlett, Christian County

RB Patric Edwards, Southwestern

QB Cameron Racke, Simon Kenton

Cameron Racke's career stats are 3814 yards passing 38 tds, 1607 yards rushing 26 tds, 2 catches for 55 yards and 33 punts for 1169 yards at SK.

Rex Henderson of Butler County probably has the best opportunity to single handly win games and control the outcome of his team's success. The Bears wins and Losses will probably will be the biggest factor in his inclusion in this conversation. But remember, this is a guy that dominated games. Henderson threw for 32 touchdowns, Rushed for 20 touchdowns, and returned two int's for a touchdown. 3021 yards passing, 909 rushing, and 5 int's on defense. I wonder how many guys mentioned above have had that kind of impact with those kind of stats both offensively and defensively. I'm not saying he will win the Mr. Football or is better than those other guys, just pointing out the impact that he has on each game he is playing in.

Nice list ATL

One of the biggest revelations to me following 2A Football last season.

Kid had an unbelievable season.

Butler County should just let him go ahead and kick the XP's as well

He has in the past but I think they are trying to give him a break for at least one play a series. He has to have a chance to make sure the water bottles are full and the ice in the cooler is topped off.
