I think one of the variables will be the weather. If it rains a lot (like the long term forecast suggests) I give the advantage to BG. With sloppy weather I think it will limit the LC passing game game. I'll take the Purples 21 - 14

I agree Hoss, they have all their skill players back and will be their toughest test in my opinion also.

Not so fast! (My inner Corso) I think you are wrong about Mercer, basically all their offense was standing on the sidelines in street clothes, they knew it would be tough with all the backups playing in this game. With there starters healthy and able to play it keeps their offense on the field allowing their defense to rest. I think their defense is better than expected, holding BG to 39 yards in the first half. The defense was asked to carry the load last night and couldn't get off the field. If the starters were healthy this would have been an entirely different game........not saying they would have won but it would have been interesting.

I agree........not with 90% of their offense standing on the sidelines.

Can't believe Mercer is in this game with as many starters that they have out with injuries........and not to mention all their miscues.

BG has been decimated by graduation and Mercer has been decimated by injury. Got some feedback from the BG scrimmage but need to know more about Mercer 's injuries. I'll have to delay my prediction a few days.

Sorry, Boyle was up and TC had the TD called back right before halftime.

I was there but left at halftime. Score was 21- 14 and Tates Creek had a TD called back. Was definitely surprised at how they moved the ball up and down the field against Chuck 's Defense. TC could not run between the tackles as Boyles D - line did a solid job. BC will definitely have to step it up on Defense if they are going to be a top 10 team but I'm quite certain Chuck will get it straight. I did not see the second half so I can't answer how it turned out.

I've heard the same.

They are not healthy at several key positions and I don't expect them to be by game. A lot of the players will go both ways so the depth of BG will probably be too much. But like u said.......that's why they play.

It's a "Preseason" ranking for the upcoming season. It's not a ranking based on the performance of a team "year in and year out".
