Garrard County hosts Casey County on Friday night to kick off the 2014 season. Casey County is coming off a 2-9 season that saw their season end with a first round playoff loss to Louisville Central for the third consecutive season. They are coached by Sam Marple who is in his 4th season in Liberty. Garrard County finished last year 7-5 with a second round playoff loss at Mason County. Garrard County is coached by Jerry Perry, who spent seven years in Lancaster from 1990-96, and returns after seventeen years as an assistant at Danville and Boyle County. Garrard defeated Casey 23-0 to open the 2013 season and the Golden Lions hold a 20-2 lead in the all-time series.

I'd be surprised if Casey won at Garrard by two touchdowns, but I do think Casey will be much improved from last season.

Should be a battle either way. I believe it will be a tight game that comes down to turnovers and who has better ball security.
