Open per Courier-Journal. I don’t know anything about it, just saw it and thought I’d share.

For one, I don’t think you can leave Adair Co. out...not with their “transfers”. Secondly, I’m not sure Warren Central, Corbin, Mayfield and Butler are in anyone’s discussion as one of the top 20 teams. Some replacements?: Walton-Verona, Anderson Co., Hopkinsville, Taylor Co, Madison Central?

Were some of these teams just drawn from a hat??

I don't agree with all of this "he needs more exposure", "prep school is better for coaches to see him", etc. If you're a D1 prospect, trust me, college coaches will find you and go to your games. This whole thing of kids needing to transfer to get "more" exposure would send a red flag to me if I'm a college coach. And the last 3-4 kids that tried the prep school route, it HURT their recruiting (Sloan, Cooper, Young).

I'm surprised it's taken this long...he more than likely won't be the last one to go before the season starts.

Saw this kid play a handful of times this past year. My conclusion: he's not worth the time or baggage (3 schools in 3 years). He's not getting any bigger, he's old for his grade level and honestly probably wouldn't be getting the pub he's getting if he was on the correct grade level. From the games I saw, again small sample size but...he's AWFUL on defense, doesn't even try actually. And he didn't look coachable at all. He will NOT finish at Adair, and will follow in the footsteps of Sloan, Cooper, and Young among others...meaning he'll keep moving schools so that an adult can try to benefit from him and colleges will stay away from him. Just my opinion. If I was coaching, I wouldn't want him at all.

That's 3 out of 4 schools in that district that are open now, if I am correct.

NO! Not a chance

Eh. True on some occasions, but not for most. If it's not in their control, then they didn't do their homework before taking the job and/or didn't do what they needed to keep the job.

Why do schools keep hiring people with a history of jumping from job to job? These schools deserve their mediocrity because they hire guys that have been in 3 or more schools in a 10 year period...sometimes shorter period of years with that many schools.

All Fayette County public schools are I-20 schools. The whole school system in Fayette Co was approved that in the early 2000's if memory serves me correctly.

What's missing in everyone's responses, while I like parts of all of them, is simple: Do the kids want to play for said coach and are both player and coach building a life long relationship? Sounds corny, but this is how I'd measure a successful coach.

If it is Kurt Young, who I don't know, is there a point when schools, parents, and kids start wondering why he's bouncing around so much for most of his career? He's not the only one, it's just an observation.
