Yeah. I get what your saying. The family actually have gotten direct email contacts , not just mailers . No true offers. Just interested.

From what I have been informed, he is a pleasure in the classroom and is well behaved. He has great grades, and has a very good work ethic on the field and in the classroom all four seasons , you can find this youngman working hard in the weightroom , and with personal trainer on foot work and agility. From what I have heard several big name schools have been showing interest already. Louisville is one , and many Ivy league schools as well.

Talent comes in cycles, with most programs. These past few years Scott has had talent, that is why they have been successful. They have finally gotten the taste of winning, and competing. I do believe this season if they settle for little above mediocrity and set a goal to win only one or so playoff games , they are cutting themselves short . This group of Seniors probably gives us the best chances to set the goal or bar higher , because they have been around winning the longest and have a well rounded team . If they don't do it this season , it could be a while until the talent pull is this good at Scott. The combination of these seniors and under classmen that proved to have talent , gives them the best opportunity for the formula to have that Great Season !!

I get what you are saying, that is why I say both are a factor. They have to have the size , and exposure, and work ethic !!!

I believe it is a combination of size and hardwork . A kid has to have potential, can not have 2 left feet , or lack of athleticism, or dedicated. These days there are far too many athletes for these colleges to choose from . They can't make it in on size alone . As for a big Framed kid , yes that is a God given Gift !!

The rules from the NCAA , are followed pretty closely. I have seen many colleges reach out to kids, my son including, however they are not authorized to give free camps , or allowed to speak to the athlete, or parents of athletes by making any form of commitment or communications until September of the athlete's junior season . That being said if they happen to be at a camp , or at a high school scouting classmates , they can inquire indirectly of age and name of kid . They can go as far as of giving them an open invite to a camp , just not for free . I don't doubt, that if this kid puts in the effort and is as good , as everyone is anticipated for him , he will play at the next level. Just not sure NCAA will or would be bending the rules , for it at this point ...

I think it is a good thing for him to experience, as many camps as possible. He is still very young to be approached by such large schools. Typically it takes a couple of years , at the varsity level until colleges start directly contacting an athlete. I Many athletes get camp invites, and then comes the personal invites. Emails , from actual coaches or a letter addressed, I would consider a personal invite . (not mailer) or standard information on a camp. I do encourage this young man , to go to these camps , and get as much exposure, and experience as possible. Good luck !!!

Yeah . I think your right, he had a ton of tackles last season , and with him and Berling in the middle, the defense should do well. I am looking forward into thier leadership along with senior Ron Rice on defense, putting pressure on the quarterback. These three guys will be exciting to watch !!!

Agree !! I do miss the old time coverage of the local nky teams and matchups and interviews of players and coaches. I thought 64 was going to go this direction , we need a local ket or cheaper channel to cover the nky games and bring some of the old time hype around the game. This adds thrill for the kids as well.

I agree. I am not sure the details, I just know it has been denied. When Sk got Miller last year it was one week before scrimmage and he had practiced and played varsity ball and was going into senior year. I believe the athletic director and head coach have to sign off from both schools involved, then it goes faster to state for approval. Coach Woolley always signs off . If a kid doesn't want to play , he doesn't hold them back. Example: Miller , Lunsford.

The last I heard, he has been denied to play, but the family is working hard to fight this and get him involved by summer.

What I enjoy most, is the on going conversations and predictions of the weekly games. It has been nice to see even more Scott Eagle following bluegrass preps.

I agree, it does take a lot to go D1 . I would be proud to see him at any level , but I can say confidently Gage has the potential and their are some big name schools peeking at the door... That's all I can say .... If you know what I mean

Gage has had several Camp invites and that is it , due to NCAA rules until September. With his work ethic and leadership, and ability this young man will go to a big D1 school. Great for the program.

As far as standing out by positions as individuals, to answer your question fairly, I would say as stated on other posts from other threads on Scott . They are bringing major talent back , not in just one specific area ..but as a team . This is the year for them to make noise , and this is thier best opportunity with what they have coming back . It's all about execution, injuries, work ethic . Potential is there , because the talent is there ....conditioning and work ethic and the kids have to be hungry to winn ...has to be there or nothing else matters .

I couldn't agree more ! Well said ! I believe the feeder teams , and middle school teams should implement the offense that the varsity is running . The Varsity coach should have his say in what the youth is being taught under his program. This helps better prepare the kids , and they already got a grasp on things . I would love to see Woodland Middle and Scott High do this , maybe even junior level Taylormill Eagles too in Nkyfl.

I wouldn't count your chicken before they hatch...JMO. There are other nky programs besides Highlands and Covcath . Time will tell all ...
