  1. I am hearing a huge job is coming open in the 7th. It is a head scratcher to me if it is true. Also heard Western in the 6th is coming open. He is stepping away on his own.
  2. Talent wise Waggener is has a better stsrting five, and arguably best sophomore in the city who scored 20 in second half including two threes in the last minute to send it to OT
  3. Kirby will not play this week, the Soph. guard Hobbs is out the season. Hobbs played in the first match up and is a game changer for WaggenerKirby Kirby played the first time around but Hill did not, so Waggener has Hill tonight but not the two others. Waggener is not deep at all and I think the injuries are too much for them to overcome.
  4. What are some of the better Team summer camps around?
  5. if this game was at Holy Cross i would go with them. They have beaten PRP the last three time these teams has played at Holy Cross. But it is at the Ridge PRP by 22.
  6. Let me clarify I do not think the officiating affected the outcome of this game Trinity was the better team by about 10 points at least. There are also always missed calls in most games it happens. Big man (Kratholm) for Waggener dribbling up right sideline the ball hit is leg rolled/bounced forward. Kratholm took two steps made another dribble then picked it up. He only picked up his dribble once and never dribbled it after he did. But like I said the officiating had no affect on the outcome at all.
  7. Trinity struggles with quick guards there are a lot in the region. Trinity has great interior defense. Central showed a weakness, spread them out defense is become average with the rest of the 7th, or at least their weak link in this team. Also no point guard for this team might also hurt. That being said they have great shooters and best low post player in state.
  8. Spalding picked up two fouls in the 1st half. The first one he grabbed a kid’s arm as he was running by then look at Zabo tabbed his chest and said my fault. The second one was not even close to questionable. Trinity was the better team tonight and probably could have won by more. But from someone who was a neutral bystander Trinity got way more of the "questionable calls" not by much if at all. The double dribble on kratholm in the 2nd quarter right in front of Trinity's bench. He clearly lost control of the ball and then just picked it straight up. It is a four point game Waggener loses position Trinity goes down and scores. Jump ball in the second half. Waggener had the ball Trinity dives on the floor touches for a second ref anticipated the jump ball and called it. To be far the very next position another ref called an out of bounds on trinity that I could not see well but I don't think it was even close and a clear "make up call" Point being the game was pretty fair in terms of whistles. Saying that questionable calls lead Spalding to the bench is not fair to Waggener. Who was missing starting PG Hobbs and Starting PF Kirby.
  9. 7th region district summaries Waggener 68- Seneca 48 Seneca lead early in this one by 8; Waggener came out a little shaky. Down one at the half Waggener completely dominated the 2nd half to go on to win by 20. Waggener was shorthanded with starting PG Hobbs out along with starting big man Kirby out. Trinity 73 Atherton 30 Not even close ever it was 51-7 at the end of three. Atherton did not make a field goal till the third quarter. Ballard 77 Cal 63 Cal was leading at half time, was told Coach Reiner never got up off the bench in the first half, the messages was sent to his team at half time as Ballard rolled to a 14 point win. KCD- 56 Eastern-69 Closer game then the score shows, Eastern pulled away late. Sorry don’t know much about this one. ST X-77 Collegiate 27 St X started out 16-0 this one was never close until X let off the gas end of third quarter. 68-17 at the end of three. Male 67 Brown 40 This was close a lot closer than most thought, score was 6-3 Male with under a minute to go in the first. Male pressure was too much for Brown big turnaround from the 50 point beat down in the regular season.
  10. In the 26th St. X (1) plays collegiate (4) Male (2) plays Brown (3) the 27th Seneca has a shot at beating Waggener who has a lot of injuries on a team that is not deep.
  11. Fairdale seems to be up and down, is that from losing their core guys from last year? They did lose a ton from last year. I think they have had some players quite the team this year, pretty recently. And some would be to a new coach even though he has been on the staff for years he has a different way of doing things no two people are expectably the same. I will say they are better than I thought they would be. Doss has seemed to struggle since the "incident" a few weeks ago, is they still considered the favorite for the region? They have the most talent I would still say they are the favorite there is no clear cut number two. More like three or four team’s right there. It looks like Coach Crews has gotten Desales to a great record, have they beaten anyone in the top 25 this year? He is the perfect coach for Desales his style worked there before and it is again. He did have them one shot away from rupp his first time around. What has happened at Iroquois, J ‘town & Butler? Iroquois graduated a lot of seniors last year and does not have any on this year’s team. They play hard and will win more games next year when they return everyone. J’Town- They have one really good player. I am surprised they are not winning more than they are. Butler- Had problem last year with coaching change, this year they had more problems with seniors. There is too much talent for them to be struggling like this. I have been told it is all cleaned up now we shall see.
  12. I'm assuming this has to do with the rumor I heard of two upper classmen being kickoff/quiting the team.
  13. You have a starter who gets suspended from school. Do you play him in the game his first day back to school?
  14. Talk about a boost to a rivalry. And male manual is one that is already big as it is. I'm sure there will be a tn of applications. I know Atherton had almost 70 coaches apply last year when it came open.
  15. I was just talking about after he left Male. I did not know we were going over his whole carrier. Guess coaches should never leave a school. Heck one of those schools closed. Guess coaches should only coach at one school ever. You obviously have an axe to grind with coach Redman; I’m not going to debate that with you. He left because he could not get kids in the school. It has been pointed out in this thread that since he has left Male has started to allow the football team to get kids in. I was just stated the reason he left the school. With my point being the same it is still easier to get kids at Ballard than at Male.
  16. Renner was the head coach at Waggener John Kelsey was the athletic director at Waggener. Not sure the order but Renner went to Ballard Kelsey to Male. I do no think Renner has been passed over for any AD job that I know of.
  17. Well he's been retired for at least three years. And I think he went to jeffersonville, Ind or new Albany can't remember which one. Then one other school. So two different schools not 6. Male gets athletes and will always be loaded with talent. But there are issues with getting kids in who are on a lower academic scale. Ballard does not have those issues. Both are great jobs, I just do not see a coach who's winning at a high level at a top 5 school in the state at a job with less pressure (from alumni) leaving towards the end of his carrier. Everyone in jcps has worked with a ton of people.
  18. It makes no sense, Renner wants to be an AD. Male AD is not going anywhere. Ballard gets who ever they want with no problems, it is a lot harder to get into Male. Thats why Bob Redman left as football coach. Renner is at the best job in JCPS he is not going to Male his next move will be for a AD job.
  19. I heard this was happening a couple weeks ago. Coach Miller doe s a good job just not winning enough with the talent he has.
  20. What if no one else can score consistently? If you have a great offensive player what coach wouldn't run everything through him? Trust a SR to make the right choices. To fire a guy for having one really good player and running things through him when he does not have a ton of talent around him is ridiculous.
  21. Where are you going to send the kid? He is already at one of the worst JCPS schools. I would guess it is his home school. If they are lucky he might get put in Buchuel or Breckinridge metro.
  22. Shawnee could surprise some people. They drew a very tough first game. They are long very athletic and senior loaded team. They do not shot great from the outside but if their pressure starts to cause some problems they can go on a run.
  23. Shawnee was in the 6th for all a before they moved to 7th when central did. Plus they tried to even out number of teams. Whitefield place 6th normally 7th all a
