Trinity 60 Waggener 50

Featured Replies

Trinity earns home game for first round of 7th Region tournament next Tuesday. Scores were T 37-27 after 3, T 27-20 at half, and T 16-12 after 1. Waggener had additional player that did not participate in first game.

I did not attend this one. Hopefully Avidtiger can add some details.

Far cry from the second game of the season. Waggener has a couple nice players, especially a 6'7(??) Junior. Nice touch out to about 15 feet and dunks everything. Sloppy play from Stafford. Jax hit his usual open shots. Ray had about 6 shots from sets and one on a missed outback. Christian was solid as always.

Trinity will be a tough draw for anyone who doesn't have a big to pull Spalding away from the basket on defense. I think T wins the 7th, even if they have to play Ballard for the above reason.

Also some questionable foul calls had Spalding sitting a lot.

Spalding picked up two fouls in the 1st half. The first one he grabbed a kid’s arm as he was running by then look at Zabo tabbed his chest and said my fault. The second one was not even close to questionable. Trinity was the better team tonight and probably could have won by more. But from someone who was a neutral bystander Trinity got way more of the "questionable calls" not by much if at all.

The double dribble on kratholm in the 2nd quarter right in front of Trinity's bench. He clearly lost control of the ball and then just picked it straight up.

It is a four point game Waggener loses position Trinity goes down and scores.

Jump ball in the second half. Waggener had the ball Trinity dives on the floor touches for a second ref anticipated the jump ball and called it.

To be far the very next position another ref called an out of bounds on trinity that I could not see well but I don't think it was even close and a clear "make up call"

Point being the game was pretty fair in terms of whistles. Saying that questionable calls lead Spalding to the bench is not fair to Waggener. Who was missing starting PG Hobbs and Starting PF Kirby.

So the foul where the waggner player floated a layup over Spalding and he tipped the ball and a foul was called, wasn't questionable? The make up call was obvious on the out of bounds play. Though I do agree that T got more of the head scratcher calls.

Explain the missed double dribble. Details missing are key.

Let me clarify I do not think the officiating affected the outcome of this game Trinity was the better team by about 10 points at least. There are also always missed calls in most games it happens.

Big man (Kratholm) for Waggener dribbling up right sideline the ball hit is leg rolled/bounced forward. Kratholm took two steps made another dribble then picked it up. He only picked up his dribble once and never dribbled it after he did.

But like I said the officiating had no affect on the outcome at all.

I like Kratholm. He has some skills and some bounce. Pregame windmill looked so effortless. To that play though, that was their own fault the spacing was terrible. They were running right over top of each other.
