Tonight Shawnee and Holy Cross will meet to see who earns the trip to the All "A" tournament representing the 6th Region. Holy Cross beat Beth Haven in their semi-final game 41-36. Shawnee beat Evangel Christian 80-64. Shawnee is 8-8 and even with lop sided losses to teams like PRP or Southwestern, they still have been competitive or beaten public school teams in the 6th & 7th region. Holy Cross on the other hand has a 8-10 record and unlike Shawnee has not been able to beat or even stay close with most of the public school teams they have played in Jefferson County. They lost to PRP by 14, but they also lost to Iroquois by 10 whom Shawnee beat by 13.

 

Shawnee is led by Jalen Wesley who is a 6'5" power forward capable of putting up big numbers. When Shawnee wins, it usually coincides with a big game from this young man. Holy Cross is more by committee and will need everyone to play well to advance to the State Championship round of 16 in the All "A" Classic.

 

My prediction is Shawnee by 10.
