This is a great way to start the week off with two 6th region teams facing off. DeSales has stayed as one of the Top 4 teams in the region throughout the season. Fairdale has surprised many by becoming a solid team just outside the Top 5 in the region. They have four big games this week against 6th region teams and can either stake a claim as one of the Top 5 or they will fall back a bit by reaffirming they are not yet a contender. This opener is a perfect way for Fairdale to make a statement they belong in the conversation.

Fairdale and Fern Creek each are sort of alike in that they are lurking just outside the Top 4 teams with respectable records, but are they good enough to be in the conversation with Doss, Bullitt East, DeSales, and PRP. Both FC & Fairdale have a challenging week and to top it off they play each other tomorrow night at Fairdale.

 

After playing Fairdale on Tuesday night Fern Creek must finish the season with Central, St. X, PRP, and Doss. So like Fairdale they will either inject themselves into the conversation of teams at the top or fall back with some separation if they do not finish 3-2 or better.

I will take the Dawgs in an upset. Should have beaten Desales in the LIT losing 63-55. Fairdale hit only 12/28 from the free throw line with their freshman point guard missing 10 in a row in the 4th qt. Fairdale seems to have taken care of some chemistry issues. Give Desales credit for winning but I'm not impressed with their Schedule. Not sure they have a signature win.

I'm assuming this has to do with the rumor I heard of two upper classmen being kickoff/quiting the team.

Desales by 10+.... I believe Fairdale can build on this year for next year. Not sure how their district unfolds but anything can happen tournament time...
