If they want out of a job, teaching or coaching & the planets are aligned just right, you can get out of it. There are endless scenarios that will allow this to happen. I switched schools after teaching the first week of school at one school & moved to another school. I had informed my principal the entire time of my job search that I was wanting the move & they supported me ( In the end it was the best for both of us, since I was not happy with my situation & they perceived me as not being in their camp) Most building leaders will let you go if you don't want to be there, because at that point, they might not want you there either. :no:

technically it "could" be zero with the 2 2-team districts the 25th & 26th out of Louisville. I personally don't see Manual, St. X, Male or even Central going winless for the entire season to be able to pull it off though. :no:

They have had a really incredible run this season. I was looking @ the state tournament bracket & the Regions they have on their side; they might have one of the toughest lines to the finals that I have seen in my recent memory.

Did they play on the 17th? Its not showing up on KHSAA, but they still have the Fleming Co. game on there for today.

As an AD I always stressed about this, but when someone says @ "all practices" or "all games" it makes it near impossible to do unfortunately. Lets think about spring for example since we are in that season; At any given time on the campus where I was working, we would have a Track meet going on in the stadium, tennis matches going on on the courts near the stadium, but outside the stadium & a softball & baseball game going on as well (these two stadiums are not close to each other) Very difficult to have trainers @ all locations even though I would like to. Even when you try to schedule everything so that it all works out where there isn't something going on in each venue, sometimes it is unavoidable. We had a permanent mounted AED in our stadium & the trainer carried one with him @ all times so he could go between locations on the campus when we had more than one event going on. The big issue is that there was no real direct way for him to get from one place to another & had to either drive from place to place in either his vehicle or the golf cart..... Not the most ideal, but its all we could do.

I don't really get into the whole "lets move it here, lets move it there" argument, but if it were to move anywhere else, I would vote for EKU (after they do a stadium renovation) I think that it would/could do well there, is pretty central in the state & has enough in the surrounding areas to support the crowds; hotels, restaurants, etc.... That being said, I think that the worst place it could possibly be moved would be to Commonwealth Stadium. Nothing but bad football gets played there. :no:

I know what you mean, I am not slighting any degree, they are all important. This was my mindset when I was just a few years into teaching. I have a 2nd Masters - Rank 1 in Educational Leadership, so if that parlayed into 6 figures down the road I am ok with that. .

It's on the KHSAA baseball schedules as Madison Central, Lafayette, East Jess.

Don't quote me on the year, but I believe Madison Central in 1982 went 40-0 & won the title.

Same argument I made several years back with what was the 64 hour college credit rule to be a coach. If (insert name here) formerly of the NBA either didn't attend college & was drafted out of high school or was a 1 & done) was unable to be a coach for my school because he didn't have enough credit hours in college. OK, that sounds logical, there is no way they know anything about playing basketball.:thumb: :lol:

I agree with you on your point. If I was allowed, I would have just gotten ASE certified in automotive maintenance & said, "here is my higher degree" :lol: I enjoyed getting my Masters in History & overall several of the things I did in that program I have brought to the classroom, but I also choose that masters since it wasn't a Masters of Secondary Education, Elementary Ed, Sp. Ed, etc....... On the slim chance that at this point I would ever get out of education, a Masters in Education wouldn't be marketable, even less than a Masters in History. (I always wanted to work for a museum)

The state should have told him once his credentials were submitted that a Sports Administration Masters did not meet the requirements of continuing education above your Bachelors Degree. The Masters degree that you attain has to do be within the usable bounds of education within the school. I have taught for 16 years & my Masters is in History & I also have a Rank 1 in School Administration. When I started teaching, you were given 5 years to begin work on your Masters degree & a time limit of 10 years to have completed the degree, I do not think those requirements have changed. If the school system really wanted him to stay on & he is indeed in year 4 of his tenure in Kentucky, he could take 1 class & begin his "Masters Degree" in Kentucky & would technically have 6 more years of teaching/coaching before he had to have it completed. I don't know Coach Siple, have no idea how many years he has been teaching, how close he is to retirement or anything like that, BUT this technically should be an option for him.

Mathematical, statistical, its really 6 in one hand & a half dozen in another. Why "level" the playing field, have those teams earn it. The district games a local anyway, makes it easy to do home & away across the board & settle it. Send the best representatives from your respective district to the region. Go out & win during the season & earn your seed I say. I remember when the 43rd was a blind draw in the not too distant past as well, honestly, not a lot of happy campers at that time. Maybe I am in the minority on this & I am ok with that, I don't always agree with what the masses want. :sssh:

Same argument has been going on in the 44th recently from what I hear. Madison Central has long not cared to either draw or seed against the likes of Madison Southern, Model or Berea. Recently it sounded like Model was coming around to seed which would have left Berea as odd man out, but evidently it all fell apart @ the district meeting for reasons unknown. I always like seeding. Even if I am the 2 seed in the district & lose to the 1 in the finals, I make the region & there is always that chance that I am still the 2nd best team in the region. That mathematically is near impossible if you blind draw & the 1-whatever team is going to the region. Just my 2 cents.

Since 2000, Henry Clay & Belfry have played 4 times splitting the games 2-2. They have also played Tates Creek twice during that span & are 2-0 against the Commodores.

I know this post is about "good" 6A teams, but I can think of several 6A teams with low numbers & lack of talent pool even with a huge enrollment that year in and year out would have their hands full with probably the upper half of 1A,2A,3A,etc.

Outside of the someone the job it has been promised to, who would touch this job with a 10 foot pole @ this point? That being said, there are plenty of positions I have seen in the past I would have said the exact same thing about (some I had to hire as well) & got them filled. :ohbrother:
