Record for least amount of wins to make a regional baseball tournament?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure where to find this but Augusta, with their 1st win last night, clinched a spot in the 10th Region Tournament. I was wondering if this is a record for least amount of wins to make it that far? Secondly, I wonder what the record is for a team to make regionals in fewer games played? Augusta would have 12 games entering regional play.

Almost has to be. You have to win a game to make the region (a couple exceptions are two districts in Louisville that only have two baseball playing schools), so it would seem 1 would be the magic number. I can't remember anything smaller than 5-7 wins making the region.

Has to be 1 win and as far as least amount of games played I think is 10 to be eligible for post season. So I would assume it been a record setting season for Augusta in baseball.

Has to be 1 unless a team got a bye to the finals in a 3 team district.

Fewest I've ever seen was 2009 when Bardstown won just one game leading up to the district tournament, giving them 2 in the region.

I believe SK had a losing record at the end of the regular season a few years back then got hot and ended as the state runner up.

I was under the impression that a three team district seeded by default. At least that was the case in baseball and softball in the 2015 39th district tournaments.

technically it "could" be zero with the 2 2-team districts the 25th & 26th out of Louisville. I personally don't see Manual, St. X, Male or even Central going winless for the entire season to be able to pull it off though.

They may now but not sure it has always been that way.
