I think he’s referring to the talent on their basketball team, or really any other sports teams. My entire life, even a bad Holmes team would beat Saint Henry, Lloyd, Ludlow, Beechwood, and other schools. They are struggling to beat Bellevue, Dayton, Calvary, and heritage in the past couple of years. It’s strange to see.

Hmmm... not too many people have three consonants in a row, on two separate occasions, in their last name. Apart from that, I know nothing about this hire.

All of those guys would say "No." They may have a shot at Eric Goetz though.

If I’m Ricardo, I’m not touching Holmes with a 10 foot pole. He wanted to go there a few years ago and they turned him down.

I want to add another part to this that I personally struggled with. I was a high school coach for 12 years. Then in 2016 I moved to Beechwood and started coaching 6th and 7th grade. I was not prepared, or at least did not think of, the differences in 12 and 17 year olds. When a couple of questions/problems arose, I required the players to come and talk to me. I did not realize how intimidating it could be for a middle school athlete to approach an adult. They were afraid they would get in trouble for questioning an adult. It was an opportunity of growth for both of us. I may have been asking too much of them.

Rumor has it their coach was asked to leave the dugout during the game a few nights ago and the principal coached the last couple of innings. Anyone know if there was an emergency or anything?

He has a nice smile. I hope he maintains that smile in practice, in games, and in the locker room. The first time that smile turns to a frown and that voice gets a little louder, he will probably receive the same fate as the previous coach.

I agree that it is disgusting, immoral, and gross. It’s not illegal though. Why would he have to “answer” for this?

I can’t figure out what he actually did that is considered wrong. He had an affair with a reporter right? Why is that against the rules?

Is there anything worse than waiting around for everybody to get ready for wedding pictures? After the ceremony, nobody can eat until we go get pictures taken. You go out there and there’s always somebody not ready or wandering around and nobody can find them.

So odd, they won 20+ games and went to the regional tournament. I guess they want to put that good season behind them and move on. I hope the next coach doesn't win 20+ games and go to NKU, apparently that is a recipe for disaster.

It is much more. It takes a lot for a teacher to give up tenure. You don’t necessarily have to start over. If a teacher has tenure and leaves, then they are not tenured for a single year and then it picks up again. It’s a very stressful year though.

I am among those who know what he has been over his long career. He is a great coach and good man. He was successful at Holy Cross, I think he got a raw deal at Walton Verona, then helped Coach Clink with the girl's program, and has had a couple of good seasons at St. Henry. I am not sure what he did before Holy Cross. He is probably headed to the NKY Hall of Fame.
