Between the All A, Cov Cath at Ft Thomas, Cooper/Ryle, Scott at Campbell, there is a lot of basketball to watch in NKY. Where are you going tonight? I’ll be at the Simon Kenton at Grant County game. I’ll post updates and was hoping some of my brethren could update the other games as well. I would like to keep up on what is happening around the area.

I saw that long time, 8th region official, Jeff Afterkirk passed away a couple of days ago. I don't know the story, but he did officiate a game the night before. Please pray for his family.

Also, I seem to remember there were some booster problems. Meaning the booster president was difficult to work with or tried to make demands of the coaching staff.

Unless you are referring to a different release then what is posted above, I don't see it.

I'm pretty sure that they would still have to post it. Oddly enough, they did post a bunch of assistant positions.

I was there. I knew them. I saw it day after day, season after season. Mike Davis was a good one, David Arvin lasted a year, Kevin Siple was alright but his history shows he was always a job hopper. Dalzell wasin over his head and then, if I recall, recommended that they pull from district play, and then split. I did not know Jacob Morris so perhaps I was being a little too strong. Everyone seems to like the guy who just left. I remember back in 2011 there was a rumor that Rodney Heath was very interested in the job. I'm not sure if that would have altered history or not. I may be getting my year or name mixed up though. It's been a while.

Mike Davis probably did the best job of all the coaches at GCHS. He was there from 05-2011 I think. Since he left it has been bad hire after bad hire. I never met this guy that just left, but it sounds like he was a good one as well.

Really? Villa and ludlow are about as good as heritage and Boone county. Lloyd and Dixie are about as good as Ryle and Conner.

Why exactly is it an easier path to the regionals every year?

This is why it is unfair sometimes to pass judgement. One side gets to say whatever they want, but the other cannot. And the side that gets to talk, knows the other side can't. It is a complete imbalance of power and could be considered a bully move. Same thing with the situation at Cooper. Mike Wilson isn't allowed to get on facebook or twitter and tell his side. Dr Phil said once "It doesn't matter how flat you make a pancake, it still has two sides."

So if you are Cooper, who do you pursue for this job?

Still not posted on Boone's website and I have not heard an official announcement from St Henry.

A plethora (3 Amigos 1986) of dominos have to fall in order for this to happen. I guess number one being, he has to get the St. Henry Job (I've not seen an official announcement), then there has to be an opening at Scott, he has to apply (meaning he wants to actually do this), then he has to be selected for an interview, then the hiring committee has to like him, then the principal has to be on board with one of his teachers coaching a varsity sport at a different school, then the job has to be offered, and then he has to accept it.

I seriously doubt this would ever happen.

I don't know if they will. Think about it, would you want to be tasked with replacing Coach Sullivan after this mess? They may need to go down south or elsewhere to find someone willing to take over the reins.

Touche, he is probably within 5 or years of being done, it would be a terrible decision to start teaching at a private school.
