Great points and solid insight into the issues Dixie faces. I’ll disagree on the Scott football viewpoints though. I know Scott has improved over the years but I’m not so sure that Dixie kids are considering Scott for their football future. I’m willing to reconsider if you can change my mind.

Personally, I think Lickert is a perfect fit at a small, private school. I don’t think his style is suited for anything but a small school football environment. Having said that, I think that Coach Meadows is the driving force of Lickert’s staff. Players love him and he is a great coach. Good luck to NCC with the new regime.

Nice to see good posts in this forum instead of the same tired talk in the past. Glad to hear from the Meade faithful in addition to the SK backers. Good luck to both teams this year. Meade capitalized and came back and almost stole the win. It was a much more competitive game than last year. Meade looks to have a better season and SK will learn from the first game experience. NKY 6A should be a fun race this year for bragging rights of top dog.

I saw the highlight on TV last night where a Cooper defender stripped the ball from a driving Schwalbach and managed to juggle it in the air and take it away. Big time play and worthy of the highlight. Anyone know who this is? He deserves some props.

SK will be fine but it may be fair to say that they’re down a bit this year. I love Farfsing and he is one heck of an all around athlete. I’d love to have him on my team. I said that first because I do not want my next comments to take away from him as a player. SK has lit up scoreboards over the last few years because they had superior passing QBs. IMO, Farfsing is a good QB but not cut from the same cloth as Racke, Schearer, etc. He’s an overall athlete but not as true of a passer as his predecessors. SK will need to rely on the ground game more this year and that’s ok. They’ve got 2 gems in Sergent and Hammack and they’ll carry the load until Marksberry finds a way to maximize Farfsing’s skills in his passing scheme.

It was probably a combination of both. It’s still early and both teams need to work on some things. Dixie had problems moving the ball against Cooper in their scrimmage and that didn’t change much against the Camels. The Camels have the personnel to be the best defense in NKY 6A. This should help an offense with a new QB and RB. Andrew Helton has a chance to make a name for himself. He throws bullets at times and needs to grow more confident each week. If he can progress like he’s capable, CC’s offense will follow. He’s got weapons and new Offensive Coordinator Styer loves to throw the ball. Helton is in good hands. Overall, the new staff has made a quick impact on the players and you can see it already. Schemes are much different this year and the kids have bought in.

Congratulations, Coach Woolf on win #1! The Camels defense is loaded with ballhawks. LBs Casey Rauch and Peyton Anderson had big games and made big plays. Reid Jolly is going to be a problem to cover for opposing DBs. He’s an instant mismatch for most defenders. Andrew Helton had a great debut and I’m looking forward to seeing him grow into his role. The Camels ran the ball effectively to move the sticks. I’m not sure what the deal was when CC went for it on 4th and 5 on their own 25 yard line in the first half that led to the Dixie FG. Dixie’s QB has nice speed and should run more often to help get some yardage. I’m sure the Colonels will grow into a better team as the weeks go on. The Highlands/CC game will be a must see next week. It’ll be a great indicator of where each team stands.

End of 1st. 6-3 Camels at midfield. CC scores with a 30 yard Helton to Singleton TD pass. Camels forced a 3 and out but turned it over on downs deep in CC territory, where Dixie kicked a 30 YD FG.

Cooper seems ranked a bit high for me at #14.

Wasn't trying to be harsh but that was an honest opinion. In spite of the nice talent they've had, the CC girls program has been offensively challenged for the last few years.

@Wireman there's a part of me that wants to believe that also; however, there's that other part of me that says this is what's wrong with youth and high school sports.

It seems like Campbell County has always struggled to score goals under Morris. Doesn't look like it's going to change either. :idunno:
