  1. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument...
  2. How does JC '10 compare with JC '09 or JC '08?
  3. It is amazing how a little support changes some of the problem, but certainly not all.
  4. Asking a question is not making a "never" statement, which is rarely accurate. A victory in the near future over the birds does not look imminent; the Birds are young and the "super talented" freshman class at CCH was routed twice. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  5. How many years will falling to Highlands be tolerated?
  6. 400+ YARDS RUSHING AGAINST COVINGTON CATHOLIC BY ONE PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are not your father's Colonels.
  7. Comparatively I guess that's horrible, but they beat Lasalle and played one of the toughest schedules in the country; they almost made the playoffs at 4-5!!! It took a final second TD by Trinity to beat them.... The 4th place GCL North team every year would beat 99% of KY teams.
  8. 700+ football teams in OH Even in Div I, Lasalle was better than decent; Trinity is the only team in KY in 2010 that could beat them and they have already been eliminated in OH's playoffs.
  9. Not when that 9-1 team ties for the GCL north title!
  10. Ohio football depth; X barely made it in and handles a 9-1 good Lasalle team.
  11. Elder did beat Lasalle, so they weren't that bad; I think you are trying to give a false sense of security to the Birds' faithful.
  12. This thread doesn't sound much like Highlands vs. SK any more, but Trinity fans hanging their hat on a last second victory over a 4-5 Elder team says it all. Most KY fans have no idea of the depth of OH football; there are around 10-12 legitimate title contenders in all 6 classess in OH. Any KY team would struggle in its respective class, because they would not be use to facing a physical, quality opponent EVERY WEEK of the playoffs
  13. It will depend on if they MANDATE playing time for the younger kids; if they keep all the kids having fun and keep the best ones from getting burnt out, they will be on their way!!! If they let a group of overzealous dads play only 13-15 kids so their sons can be the stars and they can win the "championship" every year, NOTHING will change.
  14. Calling this team a mediocre "Highlands" team, a team that has one loss by 2 points, and is the favorite to win the 5A State Championship speaks VOLUMES!!!!! They could win 5 more games, and STILL be a "mediocre" Highlands team!
  15. Being that they beat what has been called a "mediocre" Highlands team by 2 points on their home turf I hope is not what Ryle's ultimate goal is; it sounds like a lot of the fans feel like they have reached the mountaintop. I hope their goal is to be perennial State Championship contenders, which they have not yet shown they are; one blowout loss in the Finals does not a program make. Congratulations on a good win- absolutely, but nothing more than that. They have much work to do in the playoffs!
  16. It's going to take a lot more development at the younger levels to compete with Trinity and X every year, which they have the potential to do-IF THEY DEVELOP THE KIDS instead of having most of them standing on the sidelines at young ages and then decide football is not for them.
  17. If Boone County youth football devleoped players the way Ft. Thomas does, how good could Ryle be?? They seem to be making the most of what they get; Cooper is still a work in progress, Conner is very up and down- down now, and Boone continues to slip into the abyss. Could Ryle be on par with Trinity and X yearly????
  18. I don't believe there are TV timeouts in a high school game; if there are, they are minimal and not like the NFL or NCAA.
  19. If you are considering the Colonels on par with the Birds, then they have re-established the program no doubt. My contention is that that one game doesn't put them in the same breath as Highlands, especially after needing a come-from-behind victory to defeat an average Beechwood team, a loss to AA NCC, and a 4 point win over a .500 Dixie Heights team. I am reserving annointing the Colonels as "back" until I see how they perform against St. X and in the playoffs; there is still much work to be done.
  20. If the Colonels even get to play the Birds again, then we will see. Otherwise, still mired in KY mediocrity!
  21. A blowout loss in the playoffs to the Birds will certainly show that; one game does not make a program!
  22. I think it evolved into SK being on Highlands's level, which until they prove it, there is no discussion. Highlands has shown they will play anyone and compete with them. When SK tried to step up and play excellent competition, they were routed. I don't believe Highlands will duck anyone. SK needs to schedule the game.
