Dragonfire. Certainly none of my business and you dont have to answer but tell me about yourself. No name needed. Really admire your work on this message board and am impressed with your WCHS history knowledge.

I'm a Purple. My brother is a Purple. My mom and dad are Purples. We eat and breathe Purple. Growing up (and graduating) in the 80s we lived to beat Warren Central and usually did. Looking back, winning State never really even crossed our minds. We knew those big schools in Louisville were going to do that. We just wanted to beat the Dragons and the Dragons wanted to beat us. Each year, pranks (that were borderline out of control) were part of the pregame hype. Messing with the other teams field, plenty of water balloons for after school cruising on game day. The infamous painting of the Shaunee Neighborhood Tee-Pee still trumps all other shananigans. No matter the homefield, standing room only. Up until last year, I would have root for Russia over the Dragons. With all that said, on behalf of many Purples that feel the same way - hang in there Dragon fans. I hate what you all have had to go through. Terrible decisions from both your board of education and your building principals has put you in a no win situation. Literally. Not sure when you can get through this storm or even IF you can get through this. As much as we hate to admit it, there is a part of us (small part) that is rooting for you. Dont look at the scoreboard Friday night, look at the kids on the field that are wearing the Dragon on the helmit. Root for them. Encourage them. Again, hang in there. I think we Purples want you all to be good again. It makes the Fall season in BG KY much better. No predictions for me this week. Respect!

Running Clock before end of 3rd quarter. ST X will win big. Real big.

Final. Purples come out of gate a bit slow and flat but go into the half up 28-0. Four minutes into 3rd quarter they earn a running clock. Defense played well. Offense held to about 100 yards rushing but had over 300 yards passing. Next few weeks the Purples will have to fight to get better as their schedule difficulty softens a great deal. Hoping for no injuries and the young Purple players get some gridiron time. More running clocks in future. This really could be Purples best team ever. Some may disagree but they are simply loaded. Again, Im predicting 9 regular season running clocks and 5 post season running clocks. They are that good!

Purples play worst half of football so far this year. You can still score a lot more than opponent and not play well. Running clock should start 3rd quarter. Defense had a few mental mistakes but overall are playing ok. We are really good this year

It is a pointless system. It can cause a stir with fans and false hope to teams. When teams get a running clock they take their studs out. Only thing its good for is it causes discussions and debates. Similar, unfair poll is Maxpreps. It hurts teams. When Trinity wins but score is close (due to Trinity taking foot off the gas) they can drop 60 spots. Only poll to look at is standings in district play. When playoffs come everyone is 0 and 0.

Caruthers, BG running back, has the intent of playing at Naval Academy in the hopes of being a dentist back in Bowling Green after he fulfills his commitment to our Country and in his studies. You gotta root for kids like that

Wilson can almost jump higher than you P88.

Mayfield by 8 points. Lower scores than most think is my guess.

May be your best work yet P88; great job. Purplehaze would be proud. Week 4 has some interesting games that should set the tone for rest of regular season. Great work!

Greenwood goes 8-0 when they meet the Purples. I hope so anyway. Best team Greenwood has had in a long time. Their QB is real deal. Im pulling for you!

Purples are pretty much a freight train right now. Scary part is that St X accomplished their goal of shutting the Purples ground attack. Problem is our passing game and spread is even better than our running game. Purple88 reminded me during St X game that is very true. I think Dragonfire would agree; not many teams, if any, adjust after halftime better than the Purples. St X had 10 at the half and ended the game with 10. How many teams could have their running game held in check the entire game and still beat a team as good as St X by 3 TDs? I predict that the 31 points Purples scored last week will be their lowest production all year. Purples win with a running clock. 48 - 13

I predicted at beginning of season that Purples will get 9 running clocks this regular season. I may be off some, but not much. I think they can do it. If they do, there is a chance they get 14 this year. Dont get me wrong, ill just take a win but they really are stacked on offensive side of ball. Should be interesting

I guess Purple88 does know what he is talking about in his Power Ratings for the Western part of the state!

Clark is holding out in hopes of picking up some decent offers. He is an excellent student and will get a academic scholarship. Size is factor, arm strength possible factor but as far as a high school player in KY he is about as good as it gets. People argued with Purple88 and myself when we said that Payne would not miss a beat after Devin Hayes graduated. Im not educated enough in KY football statistics but someone try to find this out for me. Is Clark Payne statistically up there with the best of them on completion % and TD to INT ratio? Wherever he stacks up it has to be near the top.

Bringing back bad thoughts for X fans but X coach worst move was I believe his first year. BG was at X (BG won the game) but X could/should have. X had a running back, Charles Walker, that was poorly used. He was one of better players on the field. Purples fans knew that Walker could have beat us. Needless to say, we were pleasently surprised.

In 3 games (against 3 ranked teams), Clark Payne is 59-85 (69.4%), 790 yards. 10 TDs with 0 interceptions. 2 of the games played were with limited time due to running clock. He is on pace for a record breaking year for a Bowling Green, QB. Offensively, there should be many records that are broken this year for the Purples

Seabolt is a good coach but never forget good coaches have good players. Jackson Adams is the gamechanger. Special kid. Dont know the Greenwood program and certainly dont want to take anything away from them (or their win) but when you have a kid like Adams that makes everything click is huge. Big win

Guru. Im sure youve seen how high I am on this kid. Freshman, Vito Tisdale. If he plays for anyone else in the state, he is starting tailback (or atleast part time tailback). With BG having Caruthers eyeballing the school scoring record, Caruthers gets the nod (and should). Tisdale had over 2,000 yards rushing as an 8th grader last year. Crazy good. Coaches believe he will be D1 high level recruit as a safety or DB. He is most aggresive kid I have seen in a while. Every play he just wants to hit somebody. Im assuming it will be hard not to have ball in his hands next year. Go see this kid play. Special.

Purples look good. Funny thing is, before season began the concern for BG was their secondary. They have been a pleasent surprise. Vito Tisdale is a head hunter. Clark Payne, BG QB, fought threw a tough game. Not his best performance but threw maybe his best TD pass to date. In corner to Wilson. This team is very good and will continue to get better throughout year. Great win Purples

I don't think anyone that knows anything about this message board thinks Dragonfire is bias in his thoughts and observations. There is not 3 people on the planet that knows Kentucky High School football like Dragonfire. He gives credit where credit is due and all about the facts and stats more than the street talk. Ill admit, I am more bias toward my team as the next guy (we all should be) but to think Dragonfire is bias - no way. Although one day he will come to know Jesus and root for the Purples he is still our guy.

Remember, BG last season (and this season) has eligible kids that can play JV or Frosh that only play Varsity. For instance, Vito Tisdale (frosh for BG) does not play freshman ball. Im sure South has a few that only play varsity as well. Point is (IMO) BG, although they will be no where near as good next season, will not have any problem with South Warren. I honestly dont even think it will be close in the first 3 seasons of playing one another. Again, everyone has their opinion which makes all of this fun to debate. Time will tell. I think SW coaches could kick themselves for not agreeing to play Purples in past year or two. I am confident when these two faceoff in varsity competition the entire town will be at game. It aint gonna be pretty
