WOW!! Totally surprised. As stated above, Region is up for grabs now. Who pitched for Ryle and what happened?

Heard Ryle has Bellew on the mound tomorrow. Very ERA. Great pitcher! Not sure about Boone. I know that Bellew throws hard and low and can go long / Mr Rubber Arm.

Great Coach and very good team. Mullins coaches to win and more importantly has fun and believes in his kids. The kids love him!! Watch him coach and listen to his laughter, kidding and demand with his kids. Two seasons in a row he takes two completely "broken" teams that really are true underdogs to winners. Great job Coach Mullins!! Demand a new field!! You so deserve and need it!!

Great job Trey!! What a great young man and player. His parents have done a great job with this young man. Who pitched for Conner? Sad about the young man that was booted off Conners team. Life lessons yes, however, apparently a cronic problem. His issues have followed him for a while. I pray that he gets the help he needs to succeed in life. Its not too late.

Heard that St Henry won 4-1. Strong finish by St Henry. Junior Rex Rogers from St H hit a 390 Center field shot with bases loaded to score the leading runs. Apparently he did this last year agaisnt Lloyd during the Districts. Very solid pitching by St H Rose. Went 7 innings. Lloyds Brown looked strong until the 4th. Lost strenght and control. Heard that he pitched over 100 pitches 4 days ago. I'm sure the 100 pitches prior to this game took its toll. Hit 3 batters which is unusal for Brown. Still one of the best pitchers and players in NKY. Like this kid. Very classy and talented young man.

Good win! Congrats!. It saddens me to see many players sitting on Cov Caths bench that DO NOT "ever" get the varsity play time that should, especially with some of the stats I keep track of thanks to the Cov Cath followers on this site, i.e., at bats, hits, steals, throws outs, strike outs, etc.. HS players that give everything they have for their team troughout the whole year should be given the opportunity to play and "prove" themselves. SAD! Good luck moving forward Cov Cath!

Who pitched for Ryle? Both great teams! Sorry to see Biegs go. He developed a great up and coming program. Really would like to know that happeded. Any thoughts and or comments?

Good game by the St H underdogs against a much anticpated team. St H Holland slow pitching slow Conner down and did a great job. Good timely hits by Conner to get the win. Conner showed respect for St Henry which paid off. St Henry is missing their top pitcher Mitch Kuebbing, however I hear he'll be ready for Lloyd for the Districts.

Thank you Old Bull Dog! I agree with your statement. Silly it is, however..... It's good to see that prayers are answered, especially since St H has had two critical seniors with severe injuries that have rebounded and now are in the picture at the right time.

LaCorte started for St H. Struggled with control. Perhaps nervous as he used to play for Dixie and was trying too hard.?? Struggled with the 0-2 count. St H brought in Kuebbing in the 4th. Kuebbing had been hurt for 3 weeks prior to this game. Looked very strong! Shut Dixie down at the plate which surprised me as Dixie is a good team, plus Kuebbing hadn't been on the mound since he has been hurt. Kid is impressive! Curve ball is crazy He actually turned one kid completely around. Dixie pitching and errors I didn't expect. I know they are a stronger team than that. Perhaps an off night. It happens. Glad to see St H rebound from their injuries. Kids have heart and apparently love the game given their intensity.

Best of luck in Louisville Ryle! I know you'll represent the Union Ky community proudly.

Kudos to both teams. Very good game! Cov Cath Ward did a great job pitching. Ian Bach, the catcher for Cov Cath had a great game as well. Hats off to both of these fine young men. From what I hear, I don't think Ian Bach gets the credit he deserves, perhaps now he will. St Henry, again the underdog, did a great job as well. Starting pitcher Colsen Holland pitched a good solid game. Not a fast pitcher but, kepted a good team off balance. Rogers / SS for St H started a 6th inning rally that was ended by a bad call at the plate. It happens. The Umps do the best they can. It would be interesting to see St Henry pitcher Mitch Kuebhing pitching against Cov Cath. Regarding "Just Jims" comments about the drinking of beer at the game; SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!! TERRIBLE EXAMPLE FOR THESE KIDS! Know this, "NO" St Henry parents were drinking beer, at least at the game. UNACCEPTBABLE BEHAVIOR if this truly happened. Again, great game by both teams.

Wow, wish I would have gone to this game. Both teams are very good and have high expectations. Always a fun game to watch. To have a parent, and or whomever, purposely come over to the competitors bleachers and say things to the teams parents and or friends during the game is unacceptable behavior. Perhaps the umps didn't know this was going on as I'm sure they would have kicked him out. This isn't knothole and or little league! Terrible example for our kids! Looking forward to them hopefully matching up again.

OK, define best catcher? How many throw outs to 1st, 2nd and 3rd? How many hits does he have? How many RBIs? Lets look at all assests of a player. Remember JB / Johnny Bench? Oh, and remember GPA? All things should be considered.

if you would ask the coaches and players of the 9th region they would all tell you that they "do not" like that field. It's not a "true" baseball field, i.e. real dirt, grass,etc.. Its all turf. You have to play back on the ball and have longer throws in the infeild and outfield. The ball off the field is totally different when it hits the turf,i.e. much faster and bigger bounce. The kids are used to playing on "real" fields so why play the regionals on a field that they have not been used too during regional season? Also, the turf field also takes away the small ball game which all teams have been using this year. A bigger issue and one that most do not understand is Clint Brown will not allow metal spikes on the field so most kids are wearing regular running shoes, not spikes. I've seen many kids trown out at first from slipping back to first because they are are wearing running shoes and have too big / long of a lead off, which they are used too on a dirt field. Furthermore, a pitcher wearing running shoes does not get the footing that they are used too which disrupts their regular pitching delivery. Lastly and biggest concern; Clint Brown gets the gate money and refreshments and not the schools which as we all know is much needed. Clint doesnt need the money, hes a millionaire already! There are great HS fields in this area that the kids and coaches have played on and love during the regular season, i.e., St Henry, Dixie, etc. just to name a few that should have the regionals. Again, ask the coaches and players what they like. Not Florence Freedom.

Heard a nasty thing from a players parent at Cov Cath about their coach from the Conner game. This coach needs to settle down and remember; this is just a game with young men that should be learning good life lessons. Enough! We are watching!! Settle down coach!!
