  1. The Pioneers remain unbeaten in 2017 at 8-0 with their 64-0 drubbing of Boone County. Boone County has one won game this season. Campbell County enters this game 5-2 and have won 4 of their past 5 games. The Camels beat Conner 54-28 this past Friday. I look for the Pioneers to remain unbeaten this regular season with a 35-28 victory over Campbell County. Simon Kenton's offensive firepower is a little better than the Camels.
  2. Eastern was shutout 45-0 by Trinity last Friday. The Eagles (3-4) have lost two of their last three games. Butler (5-3) has also lost 2 of their past three games including a 24-21 loss to Pleasure Ridge Park. The Bears beat Eastern 33-27 in 2016. I give the edge to the Bears because of their ability to score. This will be another contest decided by one score. Make it Butler 21-14 over the Eagles.
  3. Manual handled the Panthers 34-28 in 2016. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-2) comes into this district 3 contest having lost 2 of their past three games. The Panthers did defeat Butler 24-21 this past week. Manual lost to St. Xavier 56-34 last week. The Crimsons have lost two in a row and carry a 3-4 won-lost record into the contest. I believe the Panthers offense will be the difference in a 28-14 win over Manual.
  4. Male needs to get the St. Xavier monkey off their backs. In 2016, the Bulldogs fell to the Tigers on two occasions 31-21. Male is 7-1 and the Tigers are 6-1 in 2017. Male has won four in a row since their 22-0 loss to Trinity. St. Xavier beat Manual by 22 the week after being shutout 28-0 by the Rocks. I like the Bulldogs defense in this one. I believe it will be a seven point game, 21-14 in favor of Male.
  5. Terrific offensive explosion by the Bluebirds!
  6. Nice win Colonels! Chatard is a quality opponent with an excellent football tradition.

  9. Moeller is terrible now because they lost their starting quarterback for the season as pointed out earlier by THS2011.
  10. Wow! I didn't see this one coming......I'm telling you, those "Bengal" like helmets may be cursed.
  11. Prediction: "Pain!" for the Rebels. Surely Simon Kenton is selling tickets to this away game. The thread should read #6 Simon Kenton at Boone County. But alas, I did not feel this tussle deserved a thread with a poll. :idunno:
  12. Nope. The fifth place team in district 4 becomes the fourth place team in district 6. If Trinity wins district 4, the Rocks host Seneca. Sumon Kenton gets the fourth place team, most likely Jeffersontown. Campbell County will host Eastern or Ballard and the Eastern/Ballard winner will get to host Boone County.
  13. I am happy that's settled. Hopefully the Pioneers won't treat the Chargers too harshly.
  14. I believe this score confirms both of these teams deserve to be in top six or seven in 6A.
  15. St. X freshman team is now 2-4. I am unsure why Manual could not field a freshman team in 2016. They have put together an excellent staff this season. Hopefully they can build on this year's talent and return to being contenders in their district.
  16. Only 11 play at a time. St X probably has 80. Less than half saw action tonight. Shorten the game by 8 minutes? That's why there is a mercy rule that is used at all levels of high school football.
  17. I have confirmation no sophomores dressed for the Crimsons. The original quote is an example of an ill-informed statement from a veteran Tiger sideline guy. He used the St. Xavier Athletic Director's name in vain. Next time, I will do better getting to a more direct source. Great win for Manual.
  18. What you are saying is Jefferson County public schools prefer playing 8 minutes short? Grade school football plays 8 minute quarters. 32 minutes instead of 40 minutes? Why? Officials get paid the same.
  19. I had to add an asterisk because as I was leaving Paul M Young Field, a respected member of the St. Xavier football community explained Manual sought and received permission to play "8 or 9" sophomores in today's contest. "The Crimsons would have cancelled" if these folks were not allowed to play. Manual did cancel the JV game scheduled for this past Monday. Manual ran the ball on an early drive in first quarter to take a 6-0 lead. The score remained the same until a fourth quarter fumble by St. Xavier was returned 48 yards for a touchdown. The Crimsons two point pass play was successful and Manual held a 14-0 lead. The Tigers drove 70 yards with a deflected pass in the end zone caught by a Tiger resulting in their only touchdown of the game with 4 minutes remaining. The PAT kick was good and it was 14-7 Crimsons. St. Xavier kicked away and Manual punted the ball back to the Tigers with 2:30 left. The Tigers final drive ended at the Manual 27 with 1:08 to play. Manual stuffed a fourth and two carry up the middle. Three kneel downs and the game was over and the Crimsons celebration was on. I'd like for a Manual staffer in the know to confirm if kids other than freshmen did participate. My information came second hand from the St. Xavier AD as he would have needed to grant permission for the sophomores to play.
  20. Does anyone know the outcome of the JV game? I will be attending the Freshman game today.
  21. I know Coach Glaser did.....almost too much! He "hates Trinity". I think Todd deserves a shot, just as Coach Servino had his time as head coach at Trinity.
  22. The lack of votes offered or submitted by population. They are voting to sell their local media brand.
  23. Covington Catholic. I hope they do not flame out in the playoffs.
