  1. Fourth straight win for Bombers and 7 out of nine in this series. Luckily I chose to stay home tonight.
  2. One of only 6 the BGPers missed this regular season. :ohbrother:
  3. The Saturday before the first playoff games are played is the deadline. I believe the KHSAA limit is twenty games total between freshman and jv. Jefferson County Public Schools places an 16 game limit their teams.
  4. That makes good sense. Ultimately it is a savings to taxpayers as maintenance and upkeep are no longer much of a concern. The advantage to the school (PE, tryouts/practice for baseball, soccer....safety for the players and officials) is priceless.
  5. Is there a "freshman league" for northern Kentucky schools?
  6. Does anyone have any details? The halftime score, when touchdowns were made, did St Xavier have a 14-0 lead with DeSales scoring late in the game? It is always a good thing when two Louisville Catholic schools get together on the gridiron. Thanks for all of your posts Tigerpride94.
  7. If you can arrange for Manual to play Trinity, that would be appreciated.
  8. Trinity Freshman team finished 8-0 with wins over St. Xavier twice, Bullitt Central, Elder (OH), DeSales, Male, Carmel (IN), and Fern Creek. I understand 21 players were "called up" to practice and dress with the varsity the balance of 2017.
  9. Fern Creek did provide a few short field situations that compounded their downfall. 8 minute quarters, running clock early in the third quarter. Very clean game.
  10. Thanks for setting me straight. There are two schools in Jefferson County that have private donations to cover installation of artificial surface on their football fields. The JCPS administration refuses to grant permission saying it would be unfair to he other schools that cannot afford it.
  11. A few years back Shaun Alexander offered to pay for artificial surface for Boone County High School. The Board of Education for the county said he would have to pay to install it at ALL Boone county high schools or the Rebels could not have it.
  12. I guess we will need to see for ourselves the outcome of Ballard vs. Central Hardin. This is important to these teams to set the tone for their upcoming playoff runs. Since I have been at every Trinity varsity game dating to October, 1993 the opportunity to see in person several other teams is limited. For the record, I do not have access to HUDL. Team speed is not measured by one state champion runner. Your defensive linemen need to have quick feet. Your offensive line better have quick feet. Your QB has to possess escapability. If you are running a jet sweep, your jet better have some speed along some teammates who can block. Ballard is winning this poll 10-6. The BGP voting public has an outstanding record for picking winners. I do not worry about spreads.
  13. As long as Scott County was aware of sophomores playing for the Broncos, all is fair.
  14. I believe Ryle would whip DeSales and Lexington Christian. I believe Male and Scott County would handle Danville and Boyle County. Covington Catholic beat Ryle, Cooper, and now play Campbell County. The Colonels feasted on smaller "name" schools from Ohio and Indiana. I am not convinced they would defeat Scott County or the re-energized St. Xavier Tigers.
  15. I will attend the St. Xavier Bombers at the St. Xavier Tigers clash. Schedule making is not an easy task for my favorite team and the "Week Zero" allows some flexibilty. The "cost" is you have an open week somewhere in the season.
  16. It is all about the "vitals" with colleges. Per recruiting web sites, he is unranked (no stars), 5' 9" 176 lbs and ran a 4.69 forty yard dash. I am not a fan of recruiting sites and everyone knows they cannot measure the intangibles. I wish him continued success and agree with his background and attitude, Chisolm will do well in college and in life after football.
  17. Makes next year's season opener for both schools more interesting as the Colts will host the Tigers in varsity action next August.
  18. Do you feel eight man football is a viable option for those school's having a difficult time fielding a competitive team? We discussed teams not competing for the state title forming there own division and playing a ten game schedule without the need for mandatory district games. There are several states offering eight man football. Is this an option Kentucky players, coaches, and supporters would find as an acceptable alternative?
  19. It was a wet 2nd half as Trinity extended 21-0 halftime lead to a 34-7 final. Fern Creek has some tough and athletic players and dressed 30 or so. They should do well in 5A in the coming years. Trinity was opportunistic as usual as the Rocks scored a touchdown on a Tiger fumble into the end zone. Later, an interception was returned inside the fivyard line, leading to another score. The offense was by Junior QB Jake McKean and Sopohomore Seth Jutz. The two basically split time and set up a challenging off-season as they vie to take over in 2018 for Senior Nick Bohn. The Creekers supplied the chain gang and gate keeper. The admission money went to Fern Creek as they agreed to move the game from Fern Creek to the artificial surface at Marshall Stadium. 10 minute quarters were played throughout the game. The Shamrock JVs finished 6-3 with two losses coming to St. Xavier and a season opening loss at Carmel(IN). This team defeated Male, Elder (OH), DeSales, Covington Catholic, Central, and Fern Creek.
