Trouble on Poplar Level Road?
As much as I dislike St. Xavier for all sorts of personal and business reasons, this whole topic simply does not "ring true" to me. St. Xavier staff may be several things, but stupid is not one of them. Until I see video/audio proof of a coaching change and/or change in administration, this whole thread is bunk.

Is Godzilla dead?
Coach Beatty once shared designing state championship rings never gets old. Coach Cobb has his staff and the players assembled to put together a string of titles. Another former coach for many years at Trinity shared the staff and players know going into every season the expectation is to win the state title. It is not arrogance, it is a mindset the supporters of Trinity are accustomed too and fortunately the student athletes are fully aware of this when they enroll. Ryle had a great season and was a formidable opponent in the final. Since they also had many underclassmen, I am confident the Rocks will meet them next season in the playoffs.

Trinity 42 Ryle 23 (6A State Championship)
Your class witnessed a state title as freshmen in 1994. Coach K is still not happy about the 3-0 loss to St Xavier in '97 state final.

Trinity vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates (6A State Championship)
Off topic: Why didn't Hilbert sign the NLI yesterday?

Open Job: Eastern
This makes Coach Cobb the "Dean of Head Coaches" in the fifth district of 6A!

State Finals Attendance
The University of Louisville is under new management. Maybe now the City of Louisville and U of L could put together an offer the KHSAA can't refuse?

Trinity vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates (6A State Championship)
I hoped Ryle could bring their cannon Saturday. I see Juniors make up a large portion of Ryle’s attack. These two could easily see each other again next year in the semi-finals or championship. Douglass will remain a contender as well as the usual Jefferson County stalwarts.

Trinity vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates (6A State Championship)
Bryan Station chose not to renew for the next two seasons.

The RPI system: positive results reflected in the finals.
I am not a fan of RPI. I recognize three class #1s survived. The KHSAA must be happy with two 1 vs 5, two 2 vs 3, a 2 vs 4, and a 1 vs 3. Does the system need some tweaking, yes. The fact is Trinity earned about the same points beating Carmel, IN and St. Xavier, OH as defeating Barren County and Meade County. I am not convinced the KHSAA will acknowledge a few shortcomings exist.

Trinity vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates (6A State Championship)
I am hoping Ryle can squeeze Trinity into their schedule in 2027. You replaced DeSales with CAL. I understand the desire to play Cov Cath, but Conner? Dixie Heights? Cooper has grown into a nice 5A team that presents challenges. Highlands is another local team with a storied history. The Raiders have now played St. Xavier of Louisville for 4 years in the regular season. I'd prefer a drive to Union over Indianapolis. I feel strongly the new AD at Trinity would entertain a home and home series in football. Something to ponder as we anticipate the forthcoming titanic struggle at Kroger Field. Along those lines, Trinity and Ryle have only faced off in the playoffs. I recall Ryle allowing Trinity to score late in the 1999 game at old Trinity Stadium. The Raiders then drove the field and made the two point conversion to force OT. The game ended in Trinity's favor 32-26 after two overtime periods. The mud, the grass, the sand....the good ole days. Will the KHSAA allow Ryle to bring the cannon? Will UK? I hope so. See you all at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates (6A State Championship)
I believe Ryle playing so many on both sides of the ball will contribute yo their downfall in this one. Savage will be one tired individual when this one is in the books. $17.00 cover charge for the KHSAA.

Frederick Douglass at Trinity Predictions/Updates
The refs filed paperwork . That is indicated on the KHSAA Disqualification list.

Frederick Douglass at Trinity Predictions/Updates
Per the KHSAA DQ list, it is not these two.
-
Frederick Douglass at Trinity Predictions/Updates
Per disqualification list on the KHSAA website: 11/22 Frederick Douglass Football vs Madison Central for "unsportsmanlike conduct" Darion Talbert and Terry Cayson and this incident should be investigated by the KHSAA. Now then, were punches thrown? Will the KHSAA investigation find these players should be disqualified this week?

Frederick Douglass at Trinity Predictions/Updates
Yes, per a long time official friend of mine. Refs may choose not to complete and file the paperwork after throwing a player out of a game.

Bowling Green 44 Atherton 20
Happy to see the Atherton squad come together in football.

Frederick Douglass at Trinity Predictions/Updates
The referees had to do the "paperwork" after the game for the suspensions to be enforced.

Strength of Schedule: How many teams still playing have played multiple teams still playing?
Now, only Douglass remains! ☘️

Trinity 35 Ballard 21
When did officials decide not to enforce kneepad rule? Checkout the WDRB+ broadcast available. Ballard had several players with no knee coverage.?? The same could be said for taunting. Both teams were guilty and not a single flag was thrown for this outward lack of respect.

Trinity 35 Ballard 21
Well, my prediction was off a little. 35-21 is tolerable when you win! It was not pretty. Many went home at halftime to be near their fireplace and watch WDRB+.

Madison Central at Frederick Douglass Predictions/Updates
Weather will be a factor as cold temperatures (near 40 at kickoff) and wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour are forecast. This will affect all games this Friday evening across the Commonwealth. Rushing attacks may be the way to victory. I like this one to be close. The Indians could spring the big upset this week.

Trinity vs. Ballard Predictions/Updates
Trinity leads the all time series 55-06, including a 20-0 win earlier this season. Trinity will win the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball and continue their march to Lexington and #29. I do believe home field advantage matters in the playoffs. Trinity's stable of running backs of J Berry, Z Floyd, C Wilson, and B Rice is a great group to have available this time of year. I also feel a 35-0 score is attainable for the Rocks.

6A RPI Quarterfinal Matchups
As usual, you are right on the money. I am not a fan of RPI, but this system has made it possible for Trinity to host four playoff games again this season. This despite Trinity playing three out of state teams, which for the foreseeable future, will remain a normal scheduling necessity.
