HMS will give Conner match up problems. Not sure Conner can guard the Bluebirds in this one! Hopefully Conner can keep it close.

Yes, Latimore is a SR.

Congrats to Hannah. What a great accomplishment! Hard work pays off. Congrats to Dad and Mom as well! Very well deserved and could not happen to a better family. The folks up North from Walton wish you the best!:dancingpa

Not saying that it made any difference but no one should be saying that #68 stopped Carr all night becuase he didn't. He was held all night and it doesnt really matter as you said becuase WV is moving on.#68 is a big kid and hopefully has some football ahead for him in his future! David Carr does for sure...
-
David Carr was stopped (so you say) because he was held on every play! PERIOD............

Were both 8th graders from Ockerman or 1 from Gray (L. Schwartz) and Ockerman (Juliet).

Turkeyfoot did move some of the 8th grade girls up to Freshman. They lost to the Shining Star 7th grade team in the finals of the SOAS league. HHS will not have a tough game this year in the 8th grade IMO. Conner may play with them but not sure how long they will be able to hang around and make it a game. Heard that SK moved 2 girls from Summit View 7th and 1 girl from Twenhofel 7th up to Freshman. Ryle also moved 1 from 7th and 1 from 8th up as well.

there is a small middle school gym that is used for practices right now. They are also using the Elementary school gym.
-
Coming along, I don't have any but i know that i have seen some pics on Twitter from Walton Verona Athletics. Should be able to start having some practices in the gym in a week or so and they are saying that it will be ready for the opener agianst Cooper!

Cody Catlett was huge for the Bearcats last tonight. He was all over the place. WV needs that kind of game from him throughout the playoffs.
-
Very nice win for the Bearcats. Bearcats go down early 14-0. Then the defense comes alive..... Cats come back to tie it up in the second quarter. Defense was huge at the end of second qtr with LCA marching down the field. Bearcats get a goal line stop on 4 straight plays.....HUGE HUGE stop there. Good luck next week against HC.
-
Good win for the Bearcats.

With the Conner middle school girls moving up it will be hard for any 8th grade team to compete with that Highlands team IMO! They could play 2 on 5 and beat most teams!
-
I know that with teams that are in the Northern KY Middle School league that i believe kids are not able to play multiple grades levels. The school that my daughter attends is not in this league so she is able to play 7th 8th and 9th.
-
Apparently this has now changed at Conner. Talked with a parent of an 8th grader that has now said his daughter will be playing Freshman. He told me that Conner only had 7 girls try out for Freshman ball.
-
Dave Dinn was a freak athlete! Played at Wright State along side Scotty Benton from Walton. That is good news for Carson and only his Jr. year.
-
Sorry to hear that Dougherty is not playing. He is a really good kid. IMO though this does not hurt SK at all!
-
Noah is the best point guard that SK has right now. Hawkins is a hit for sure. Hope that he heals quick. He is a fantastic player and kid as well.
-
-
Jones by a landslide. IMO with some of the teams that has come through SK I would say that Steiner does the least with what he has!
-
Not sure how many will play 8th grade but Walton had a pretty good team last year. Not sure of first names but know the last names on a few. Jones Pardee Grubbs Bonne

This was a good test for the Bearcats. 5 turnovers did not help the Bearcats today. The Justice kid is a nice player. WV finshes 9-1 for the year with this team consisting mostly of Freshman and Sophmores. Good job Bearcats and good luck to Beechwood in the future!
