Breds asleep in this one. Not much effort. Dayton with a better effort overall. Dayton/Bellevue probable matchup in the District should be a good one.

Breds play like that Friday at Brossart they will get beat. But I expect that they will play better.

Holmes was slated to replace Belfry on the schedule but Holmes decided to go a different direction.

Both teams should be dead tired. NCC's 7th game in the period Jan 20-Jan 29. NCC actually deeper than the 3 NCC teams that won the All-A in recent years. Maybe not as talented but deeper.

Unless I am not seeing the photo correctly, isn't the debris actually on the gym floor itself and not in the stands? So that mean it was thrown there after the game had ended? I have no problem with the visiting fans leaving the stands messy with what had been mentioned like popcorn boxes or cups or confetti but this looks trash was intentionally thrown on the gym floor after the game ended and that certainly is not acceptable.

Good spot as any for Highlands to finally get a win as Breds are coming off of two tough games Fri and Sat in the All-A and Highlands is at Home. Guess one luxury Breds have is they have don't have to worry about fouls on the big men as they have 3 they can play. Might come down to how well Highlands can prevent NCC from going inside and still contain Hall.

The Jump Ball to start the game............why should teams try to win it? Normally both teams are set to prevent any kind of fast break basket off of the jump ball. So the team that wins the jump ball generally starts in their own backcourt. However, the team that loses the jump ball get the next one. That next jump ball is usually under your own basket or under the opponent's basket. So it is a much more valuable scoring opportunity or in preventing a score by the opposition. Even if there are no additional jump balls in the entire game the team that loses the jump ball to start the game gets it to start the second and fourth quarters. So wouldn't a team be better off intentionally losing the jump ball to start the game?

Highlands replaced the Grant Co District game with Greenwood.

Right now looks like that would definitely be a problem on Sunday but Monday should be okay.

What is the status for the 2 injured NCC players?

Would not be surprised if NCC has the shortest line-up in the 9th region. Ended the game with 5 perimeter players on the floor with the 1 post player fouled out.

Both teams played really hard and gave it their best effort but neither team was all that proficient. Lots of missed shots in this one. Lots of bad fouls. Entertaining as it always is when these two teams get together, but both are looking at a tough road in any post-season play. Better seasons ahead for both teams.

Should be a close one and a bad break that they drew each other in the first round. If Beechwood hits well from 3 this one could go to the Tigers. If not, Lloyd moves on.
