The nutshell was the call- illegal receiver downfield personal foul Which still allowed PT to advance the ball 36 yards somehow.

I'll try to explain it as best as I can, but a lot of stuff happened in a short time and it was very confusing to say the least. And before anyone cries sour grapes I am just describing what happened. With around 20 seconds left, PT had a 42- 36 lead. Graves was in the PT redzone when they ran a naked bootleg to the right; the PT CB was really the only one in position to make a play, but he was clearly held by the Graves WR, and the sideline judge whom was right there immediately threw the flag and waved off the TD. But then the refs got together, had a discussion, waved off the flag, and awarded the TD to put graves up 43-42 after the XP. PT then takes over the kickoff, and on 2nd down from their own 24 or 25 hits a bomb to score with approximately 4 seconds left. While the players were celebrating in the end zone; an official on the far side of the field threw a flag out. I assumed it was excessive celebration, but he immediately began waving everyone back. The call was this: Illegal Receiver downfield, personal foul ? The officials then moved the ball back to the Graves 40 yard line. Remember, PT threw the ball from their own 24, so somehow the play got called back but PT advanced the ball 36 yards? The following play was an incomplete pass, game over. I am thoroughly confused and hope someone can clarify it for me.

More than once I have heard from the opposition- "that place was half-empty" Yes, but that is still a bunch

Russellville is definitely a cool old stadium with the field element adding extra character to the place.

So do these teams that utilize this have a coach or two that specifically handle this? I can imagine that it takes extra time and effort to pick out plays to review.

Just like everything else these days, have technology show the kids what to do rather than learn it for themselves. I understand that it may be the sign of the times, but count me in the not a fan group. Never again will we say " that kid has a nose for the ball"; rather "he really watched his sideline videos"

I believe the key to this game is how much Trajon Bright gets. If MC can contain him, they will win. Which isn't easy to do However if he has another 300 yard night, Mayfield will win.

Trajon is incredible, not really a power runner, not really a scat back, but he manages to find holes and run wild. PT played a good second half, but you simply cannot spot Mayfield a 28 point lead and expect anything good to happen from that.

One young kid that made a stupid mistake-

Apparently there are 117 kids in KY that can outrun Usain Bolt

I would like to see some of these schools that have old rivalries such as this one consider playing them on Saturday so more fans of other schools could attend. I think you would draw quite a few more fans out.

I don't believe there is any "hype" around them this year with their age. It would certainly be ungarnered. Just looking to improve and see where that gets them.

PT had a pass batted away in the end zone with 23 seconds left---- ifs and buts----

MC is good, but PT is just a very young, very inexperienced team this year. They are starting a bunch of sophomores and a few juniors. Only 4 starters have varsity playing time experience. They made big improvements this week but they still have a long way to go. Last week was a good and rude eye-opener that hopefully they can learn from because the road just gets tougher this coming week. But I do believe they will improve as the season progresses.
