Augusta 63 Mason County 61 (39th District Championship)
I done some work on the history of the Mason-Augusta rivalry over the past few years. The two games this season, fouls were MC 39 A 21. FT's were MC 13-15 and A 34-44. Maddox shot 16-17 of the 44. During the Bach years for four games, MC shot 32-53 and Augusta shot 73-97 on FT's. Bach shot 55-64 by him self which is more than Mason's team shot. Anybody else see a pattern here. I have certainly witnessed a pattern, it's the style of defense being played and Augusta would not have played Mason last night if Bracken had converted free throws on Tuesday night.

39th District Hosting
Fieldhouse every year, Brooksville gym and concession to small, parking is a nightmare, hurts attendance as far as seniors. Fieldhouse has the tradition and atmosphere of Kentucky high school basketball.

Scott is a good team and let's not forget Augusta is the dark horse.

16th Region Draw
Fleming and Russell would be the favorites, but the games are played on the court and not on paper.

Mason County 68 Bracken County 45
I thought this game would be a nail biter.

Last time 10th did not have a team from Mason County?
Some of my family members played basketball for the Mayslick Cardinals. Hope this doesn't mean I'm getting old.

The few times I've seen Saunders play this year, I've came away impressed.

Augusta 46 Bracken County 43
Bracken did a good job slowing the Panthers down and not allowing them to get into a rhythm and the shots were not falling for Augusta. Great adjustment by Coach Hinson at the half, really turned up the tempo and intensity in the 2nd half. Some huge free throws at the end of the game for Augusta and the crowds were amazing from both schools. Congrats to Coach Hinson and the Panthers and good luck to both teams in the region.

Districts...blind draw vs seeding
Seed, draw, classify, great topics for discussion and debate. Kentucky high school basketball is entertaining and fun to watch. As the old saying goes; if it's not broke don't fix it. I'm not convinced it's broken, but I certainly do enjoy it.

39th District Championship: Bracken County vs. Augusta- 2/21
It's difficult to beat any team at the high school level 3 or 4 times in a season, could be a barn burner.

Augusta 72 Mason County 61
Very well stated PK. Who was that blue speck in a sea of black last night in the Augusta fan section?
-
Augusta 72 Mason County 61
Another classic game at the fieldhouse, Augusta needed a complete game and flat out played one. Congrats to Coach Hinson and the Panthers.

Back to back 19 win seasons, can the Panthers get number 20 Tuesday night?

Augusta Panthers freshman 10th Region Champs
Paris also would not have enough players for a freshman team if they didn't allow the students to play that play varsity. Just reality with small schools. They only get to be freshman once.
