Congrats Coach Hinson and the Panthers!

Thanks for the updates!

How many did Bach end up with?

I believe 6

Heard that Atown and the Polar Bears brought out the fans tonight.

Congratulations to Augusta!

I didn't think this game would be close.

Congratulations to the Panthers!!!!

Dodge those bullets!

Great job by the Polar Bears who knew Augusta would still have a Mason COunty hangover.

Holding Brent Bach to 6 points is a major accomplishment in itself.

Great game plan by the Polar Bears. Augusta never seemed to completely solve the Polar Bear D, particularly as it relates to Brent Bach. Grant Crawford checked him all night long & held him to 6 points. If there was a Player of the Game award, I would give it to Grant Crawford, even in the losing effort.

Of course, the Panthers won this game. Connor Maddox was huge in this one just as he was against Mason County. He didn't shoot it as well, but he hit the big 3 to give Augusta a 42-40 lead with under 30 seconds to play. If the District gave a tournament MVP, my vote would probably go to Maddox.

As great as Bracken game-planned, I think Hinson made a nice adjustment by upping the pressure to start the 2nd half. Bracken had several turnovers--on consecutive occasions & about three times by the same player--and that enabled Augusta to cut into the deficit.

Very fun game to watch & I believe better than the Augusta/Mason County game. Big, loud, & excitable crowd made it that much better. The kids on both sides played so hard. Great night of basketball. Great tournament overall. :thumb:

Panthers edge Polar Bears for first district since '82

I was eating a late dinner and getting the updates. Sounded like a great game. Good luck to both squads in the region. Both have a lot of potential.

Bracken did a good job slowing the Panthers down and not allowing them to get into a rhythm and the shots were not falling for Augusta. Great adjustment by Coach Hinson at the half, really turned up the tempo and intensity in the 2nd half. Some huge free throws at the end of the game for Augusta and the crowds were amazing from both schools. Congrats to Coach Hinson and the Panthers and good luck to both teams in the region.

What county is Augusta located? All I know about that school is they are a top academic school and George Clooney was a student there.

Bracken County

Congrats to both schools and good luck in the region.

Looks like Coach Persinger put together a great game plan and almost pulled it off!
