Huge get for Coach Lane! Should be a major contributor at Transy. -
Travelers Sacramento Updates

It needs to be noted that Carson could be playing 16u. He's only going to be a junior. -

Tough ending to a good year for the Yellow Jackets. I really wish more people around the state had been exposed to Eli Boggess. He was a special player. -

Like I said in another thread, Hundley always has his teams rolling come tournament time. -

Looks like Hundley has his boys rolling heading into tournament time as usual. His teams always seem to come together when it matters! -
Ranking The Districts By Region
khsaafanatic replied to polarbear98's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
8th Region 1. 29 2. 30 3. 31 4. 32 I would argue that the 31st has been stronger than the 32nd for the last several years. Besides Simon Kenton, who has made any noise out of that district since Simon moved to the 8th? The 31st has sent teams to the 8th Region Semis consistently over the last 5 years. This year, SK is the only team in that district with the potential to make a run in the region. -
Owen County's Carson Williams - 1,000 point club
khsaafanatic replied to buttels's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Jason Sharp missed his entire junior season due to a torn ACL. He holds the record with a little over 1,800 points. Neeley only played at Owen his senior season, moved there from Owsley County. -
Word is that Dixie has transferred to Shelby County. If true, huge blow to the Warriors.

Jason Holland, new Montgomery County Coach
khsaafanatic replied to mcraycraft's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I've seen Holland's teams several times while he was at both Henry County and Oldham County. While he is an excellent coach, I caution Montgomery County fans who haven't seen his teams play to not expect the same run and gun tempo that Happy employed. Holland slows the game down and is not afraid to turn the offense over and over until his team gets a wide open look. Games will be in the 50's alot. But Holland is a great coach, will hold opposing teams to a low score, and will win many games at Montgomery County. -

If I'm not mistaken, since college he has been coaching at various ranks, starting at Williamstown and then to Grant County. -

IMO Plunkett would be a great choice. I remember watching him play there during the early 2000's. Grant County needs someone who is going to be dedicated to their program. They have the potential to have a great program like they were during the late 90's and early 2000's. -
Sawyer was a preferred walk-on.

Former Owen County F, Sawyer Williams, has transferred from Morehead State to Carson Newman for this season. Sawyer will be on full scholarship now.

Here is a link of a recap of the Bearcat Classic from this past weekend. Looks like Owen County big man Carson Williams is carrying his strong freshmen season for the Rebels over to the AAU circuit with Hoop Dreams. Buckeye Prep Report: Bearcat Classic-Final Day Report -

Saw where U15 Hoops Dreams won the Bearcat Classic. Anyone have any info from the tournament? Who played well for Hoops Dreams? -
South Oldham 85 Collins 82 OT
khsaafanatic replied to BIG BLACK JACK's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Tough loss for Coach Gaither. I thought this was the year that Collins made themselves known statewide! Great win South Oldham though. Here's to hoping they don't have an off shooting night. Seems like in the past, they have lived and died by the three. -

I'm a huge fan of the 8th region tournament. Every year that Henry County gym gets rockin! I've been around other regions as well, particularly the 11th, and nothing compares to the community support of teams from the 8th region. I'm interested in two teams to see if they can finally get over the hump. The first team is South Oldham. They seem to be in this position year after year with great shooters, but not a whole lot of a post threat. Hopefully they have become disciplined enough to attack the rim and look for a good shot instead of settling for a contested 3 pointer like they have in years past. The other team that I'm interested in is Owen County. They always have the bigs to compete with anyone, but just can't seem to make it over the hump and get past the semi-finals. The talent is there for them to do it, just hope their mindset has changed to know that they can compete with the big boys. Regardless of the outcomes, here's to hoping for another great tournament!

Congrats to Bryce! If I'm not mistaken, this is his father Jerry's last year coaching?
