Jud Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Bullitt East made a 2 pointer but the clock ran out a split second before the ball left the shooters hand. A Great victory for WC. Eli Boggess held WC together down the stretch. Samuel Souers lead all scorers with 22 and fouled out with 2.5 minutes to go. It was a great team effort by WC.
Jim Schue Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Heartbreaking 2-day stretch for the Chargers.
khsaafanatic Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Looks like Hundley has his boys rolling heading into tournament time as usual. His teams always seem to come together when it matters!

Northstar85 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Just heard a second hand account of something that happened during the JV game. Bullitt East helped create a memory for a kid? Anyone that was there care to share? Like I said, I got it second hand from someone that wasn't there, so I guess I actually got it 3rd hand.
HICKORY Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Looks like Hundley has his boys rolling heading into tournament time as usual. His teams always seem to come together when it matters! Coach Hundley has done a solid job with what he has to work with. From what I hear the Boggess kid is a all region kind of player but his supporting cast is average at best. As far as rolling? They have won 4 of their last 12...not sure I would call that rolling into anything.

The coaches wanted to do something special for him. They let him dress and play on the JV. The JV team was getting beat by 20. They let the young man play for a couple of minutes. The BE JV Coach told his guys to back off. The young man made a layup and to the delight of the crowd nailed 2 three pointers. People went nuts and many were crying. I will always have a tender spot in my heart for BE for this kind act. I will say out loud what I whispered to myself, "Praise God."
Plato Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 High school notebook: Manager's shot at glory makes memories at Woodford | Mike Fields' Notebook | Kentucky.com Awesome stuff. Hundley and Wilson are top shelf people and top shelf coaches. Love this story. Also very cool of Bullitt East to go along with the idea.
