Do we even know what people at Pikeville thought about the matter? Maybe they were perfectly fine with the decision and possibly even preferred it. With that said, Piarist's basketball teams first priority should be to play. However, again if Pikeville was cool with it then what does it matter.

Kind of funny you say that. I was talking with some people the other day about turf fields and some of the really nice complexes in the NKY area. Their comment was...it's ridiculous high schools spend all that money on turf fields. Opinions differ for sure.

Kid knew he was taking a chance getting t'd up, can tell by his reaction. If you are going to showboat and point the finger at yourself that much, you are kind of taking your chances with some refs and this just might be the outcome. And, as said above, he might have said something too, we don't know. As LA said above, just play ball. With that said, it was pretty funny.

If he appeared winded Kobe could have been sick/not feeling well that night and that could have gotten to him, I can't speak to that. Like a lot of other teams they have had several bugs going around the past few weeks, lots of kids sick and closed the school I think it was Friday before last because of sickness. However, if you are alluding that he's out of shape or SC runs some sort of pace that he can't keep up with, then you are definitely mistaken. As a matter of fact I would say the faster the game the better Kobe likes it. I really wish I had seen the first game so I could make a more informed opinion. However I feel pretty comfortable with the info I have on SC and of course I know AC pretty darn well. On each teams best night when AC can get the best out of their top 5 players, I believe AC would be the better team. However, AC doesn't have a lot of room for error, and I'm not saying anything anyone doesn't know. If the game gets to a point where each team is relying on their bench then that is going to go in SC's favor. Hopefully, as an AC guy that won't happen. Problem with that though is that it COULD happen. But that's why they play the game, to see what WILL happen. One thing I will say with almost certainty...this game should be an all out scratch and claw fans screaming and shouting nail biter. I'd be very surprised if it was something other.

Obviously we saw the same game last year in two completely different ways...but I digress. It's hard for me to predict this game simply because I have not seen Spencer Co play this year, so I will go with the info relayed to me by my comrades who were at the first game and have seen SC play. It really depends on what AC team shows up...it's almost like last year, it's a very "bi-polar" team and they are really up and down. If the good AC team shows up, and that includes not getting in foul trouble, Spencer will be going home. If the bad AC team shows up, well I'd rather not think about that. It's hard for me to envision them losing to SC twice in the same year, so I'm not going to. AC by 6, something along the lines of 61-55. Unfortunately with church on Wednesday night I won't be there for the tip...I MIGHT get there at half time to see the game. Maybe it will get started late, I hope so anyway.

Nope, not around here in my area. Jr.'s populate team rosters quite heavily and can play significant minutes. I have seen games where there are 6-7 Jr.'s on the floor at one time between both teams. Now not saying that is the norm, but I have seen it multiple occasions. As a matter of fact I started a thread a few weeks back stating the opinion that I didn't think Jr.'s should be playing varsity under normal/most circumstances unless a small school needed 1 or 2 to put a team on the floor and allow another team to get games in. That wasn't a popular opinion with some, but it's my opinion.

Wasn't that also right in the middle of Collins missing 3 starters? I think that was the case but not 100% sure.

Though they shouldn't overlook them, Collins should dispatch Shelby without too much difficulty. I'd be somewhat surprised if they struggled with them and totally shocked if they lost to Shelby, especially on their home court. BUT, weirder has happened.

Good gosh...Dunbar delivers a beat down to CCH AT CCH and then drops one to WJ? This is the craziest year of KY high school basketball I think I have ever seen. I like it though.

I have said for years that I think it's ridiculous district teams don't play each other twice a year, home and away. Heck, I played ball for a high school that belonged to a 9 team conference...and we played EVERY team twice every year. Someone mentioned that leads to some blowouts where you have some really strong teams playing really weak teams in district more than once. My reply? Weak teams either get better or drop out of the district. I personally think districts should be done away with, combine districts into 7-9 team conferences (or call them districts if you want), and play each other twice. THEN winning your "district" really means something.

While everything you say is 100% factual and I see what your point is, I still believe the analogy holds. How many times have you heard, of a ball and strike call "well that one was close and could have gone either way"...though technically it's either a strike or it isn't. And while umpire X might have called a specific pitch a strike, umpire Y may very well have called the same pitch a ball, point being it's a very subjective call as well, even though there are clear rules governing it. But it can't be both.

Blarge...it's a cop out, plain and simple. With that said, it's not called all that often, at least I don't see it. Just think if a baseball guy advocated for the "bike"...a ball and a strike called at the same time. You could simultaneously strike out and take first base on a full count call. That guy would be run out of town. No different here.

Was going to be my comment but you beat me to it. I think in this age of "hold backs" some have lost sight of just what age kids should usually be in their respective grade.

Having seen both play I thought CCH was the better team by more than a couple of baskets. Color me shocked by this outcome and really shocked by the margin of victory.

Call it what you want but many of those 19 to's (assuming that is the number) were just bad/forced attempts by AC. It seems to be a recurring them lately. Now the JV game AC just had the ball taken from them several times, so yeah it did happen in that game.

Not too sure the D forced all those turnovers... plenty of them were unforced bad passes. AC has to take better care of the ball, can't put themselves in position to win with all the to's they are making.
