Heavy favorite? No, no they weren't. Some, including me had them as the favorite, but not hands down by any stretch, and more than a few believed SO to be the favorite, with Oldham and Collins able to make some noise, which they are both doing now.

Maybe it was a list of WKY counties specifically they fell near the bottom. I know there are so many poor EKY counties the list is dominated at the top by them, one would have to be really poor to break into their ranks,

Really? I thought it wasn't all that long ago when Livingston County showed up near the top of the poorest counties in the state.

Because Findlay Prep is not sanctioned with the Nevada HSAA, thus KY by rule are not allowed to play them or such teams.

By rule it ain't. Either it won't get played or some special wavier has come into play.

With my coaching schedule and no more than I am able to go watch other games, I have somehow managed to see 11 of the top 25 teams listed above play.

BY FAR better than these 3-4-5 team districts. Instead of conferences call them "super districts" if that helps.

Do away with districts all together...I have never liked that format. Split regions into two separate conferences, each team in their respective conference plays each other home and away. Boom, there is your seeding, no need for Calprep rankings and all that crap. One seed in conference A plays bottom seed in conference B, or possibly gets a bye if in an uneven region. There you go, now let's do it.

Future talk: Anderson will have 3 returning starters (assuming nothing changes over the summer), a couple of improving if unspectacular at this point sophomores that will be junior's and should contribute, and a good current freshman class that should see good contributions from 2-3 players as sophomores next year. I said over the summer that AC should have a 4 year window (including this year) of seriously competing for the region 8 title. After that there is a very talented 5th grade group right now that will make a LOT of noise as high schoolers, but let's not get too far out there.

Whew this is an...unattractive game.

I will be there tonight as well. Hearing a starter may be out...not sure what's going on. Saw Shelby play Mercer their first game, and they just looked awful. Then they beat Johnson Co a couple of weeks ago who handled AC pretty easily a few days before, so I don't know what to think now.

Actually yes I am pretty close to the AC program...and yes I (as many others did as well) predicted they would be the favorites to win the 8th...not hands down favorites by any stretch, but favorites, as well they should have been at that time. However one cannot account for transfers, players quitting/not playing, in season player turmoil, etc. If you look at my post I said they are ranked #4 right now, but the way they have been playing in region they very easily could find themselves sliding if they don't pick up their game. I'd like to think and believe my comments are somewhat realistic with some hopefulness sprinkled in...I think it could definitely be argued you can be...lets say very overly optimistic at times. Nothing wrong with that per se, but with that you are definitely going to have your feet held to the fire from time to time.

I hope you're right, but looking at recent common opponent Johnson Central, AC with a double digit loss and SC with an OT win, ummmm, I don't know. I definitely don't see a 22 point win at this point, just a close win would be nice.

Lets ask the VERY same question of Spencer...what have they done to deserve/get a higher ranking? The way Anderson is playing within the region they may very well play themselves out of the top four...I hope not and big game with Shelby tonight will factor into that, but Spencer can't say they have done much of anything to put themselves much if any higher than they are at this point, but that could change as well IF they can win some games against foes that have routinely beat them the past several years. You also keep talking about the 3 point loss to SO while either completely dismissing or not even recognizing the 29 point beat down just a couple of weeks before. You can't mention one without the other. Just like Anderson can't mention the 29 point win against SO last year without mentioning the almost 40 point blowout loss to them in the region finals. Like someone said above, I have a feeling you may be a little too close to the program and your opinion has at least a little Bear bias to it...if not a LOT.

My comment wasn't directed at the NCC kids, I was just making a general comment regarding juniors playing JV. But weren't the NCC kids sophomores anyway?

You get better by beating the guys in practice. If you can't contribute to the varsity as a junior...well...:idunno: Juniors should have gotten court time by the time they are juniors playing freshman/jv ball as freshman and sophomores. Again, for smaller schools I get that to even have a jv team juniors may have to play just to field a team. That's fine. Bigger schools with plenty of players? No. And this opinion is coming from a guy who as a junior played behind an all state center and hardly touched the court. I know everyone won't agree with my opinion, and that's cool, but I personally know a lot that do.

Sorry, I disagree with the bolded. That's for middle school (if it's done even then, I know a lot of middle schools don't play a lot of kids). Once you get to high school all bets are off, you play your best kids that put the team in position to win games (all thing being equal, not accounting for attitude problems, grades, etc.), be it freshman, jv, etc. Now, one thing I DON'T agree with when it come to jv is a lot of teams playing juniors. Now, I know smaller schools may have to do this in order to have a jv team, and if it has to be done to put a team on the floor then ok... but I have seen jv teams with 4-5 juniors on the floor at the same time with plenty of sophomores and freshman watching. Back in my day (I know, but give me my old man "get off my lawn" moment) juniors didn't play jv ball. If you weren't good enough to get on the floor for varsity as a junior, then you didn't play till you got good enough. Now, doing this will help develop some of your younger players because the coach has to play freshman and sophomores on jv. Just my thoughts.

I was flat out impressed by Cooper's D. Wish I could get my hs kids to play half that hard.

Ugly first half by Paris with only 11 points. didn't break 11 till about the 4 minute mark in 3rd quarter if I'm not mistaken.

Exciting, competitive and somewhat sloppy game. close most all the game. Hollingsworth Mr. Everything for Dunbar. Two big for PCC are raw but caused some trouble and have some potential.

Looks as though Wiggins was literally invisible this game.
