With my coaching schedule and no more than I am able to go watch other games, I have somehow managed to see 11 of the top 25 teams listed above play.

That's difficult to do for eastern Kentucky fans. Most of the highly ranked teams are never going to be in our area. Have to travel a long way in order to see the top teams play.

Christian County, Ballard, North Laurel, Lexington Catholic were all in the Zip Zone Classic (Trinity usually is as well). Corbin, Pulaski, South Laurel, Knox, Southwestern all play often in the mountain regions and/or are in the mountain regions. Perry Central is right on the cusp of the top 25 and may break in as the season continues. Not counting tournaments, that is 10 of the top teams that mountain fans would have got to see without leaving the mountains. Granted its just one game and to see them on a regular basis one would have to travel more but nonetheless pretty good. I think teams travel more today than in the past, but its still rare to see a far west team come east or vise versa. Christian County is traveling east most likely due to Frankie Smith's mountain connections as he led Tug Valley to a state championship in the late 90's and is from the area.

Who has Scott County played to put them above Fern Creek and Trinity?

Nobody in my mind, but isn't this computer oriented? In fact, Scott County lost against the only top 20 team they have played (i don't feel Oldham Co is a top 20 team either, neither does BGP).

I do think Scott Co. is good, very good, but not number 1 good.

I would like say that Elliott County from the 16th region is as good as any of the included 13th region teams.

Didn't Lex Catch and Dunbar both beat LCA? I also think Scott County is good but not #1. They may they may be top 5. It seems to me Perry Central is probably top 25 but they won't make it into the rankings until later in the season since they lost some early games.

Elliott County has not played a good schedule. They have not beat a good team yet.

I'm sure there are a couple of Elliott County opponents in the 16th region who will be disappointed that they are not good teams. That being said, I graduated from Elliott County and my children graduated from Corbin. I follow both schools and I will rate both teams against one another by saying that if both teams brought their A game, I would want to be the coach of Elliott County because they are quicker, more balanced offensively and are better defensively.

If you haven't watched Elliott County play then your the one missing out. These kids are on another level and their schedule is what they gotta deal with; they are suppose to be doing what they are doing. Don't get me wrong, they aren't quite tested in a state level but we'll find out next week. These kids don't get the respect they deserve and will need to have their best for a chance to win it at the all A. It's an exciting time in sandy hook because these kids play with freak athleticism, defense, shooting, rebounding, poise, etc. No matter what happens they are giving a town something to cheer about and making it enjoyable for those who appreciate Kentucky high school basketball.

Is this going to be another one of those "Elliott County" things? Tons of hype about how beautiful a brand of basketball they play, yet they never win anything that matters?

Highly possible they don't get the "respect they deserve" because they didn't really deserve it the last time we were forced to notice.

All I'm talking about is in regards to grabbing that 20th spot. Not trying to say anymore than that, but many walked away last year with at least a little more respect at Rupp. Hard to open up with a bowling green team and a heck of a lot better than 40+ beat down the year before. They have guards that I would put up against with anybody in the state combined with defense they are really good IMO. They contained a 6'9" monster in Ben Jordan last night and beat a good west carter team. They can beat you in a lot of ways and matchup with about anybody.
