Is Team Thad associated with any of the shoe company leagues?

Who are those 5? I can't find a Team Thad roster.

Interesting that transfers are now being reported by Courier Journal
I believe you are right. There are special circumstances where students attend a school out of their district like if a parent works in that district and Walton -Verona definitely takes out of district students.

TBC Elite 17U
Sponsorship can mean many different things. EYBL teams like the Travelers receive tourney fees, unis, travel, food, and some additional gear. I've seen "sponsorship" that only included a slight discount on shoes. If TBC players don't pay a dime they are indeed blessed.

Best dunk of 2015 high school season caught on video
Jr Carson Williams of Owen County

Lincoln County 57 Mercer County 34 (12th Region Semifinals)
Yes, very good team. They've only lost 2 games this season and I happened to be at both of those games.
-
Collins 53 Oldham County 41 (8th Region Championship)
And this is why I love high school basketball. Good thing they didn't just 'give the trophy to Oldham and be done with it'.

Hoop Dreams 17U
I don't believe anything I hear about AAU rosters until I see it. Can't even go by what some parents or other "reputable" source say. Everything seems to be subject to change.

Is Timmy Taylor still planning to go to LMU?

Collins 48 Owen County 41 (8th Region Semifinals)
From what I am hearing the schedule will be tougher next year.

Best Basketball Environment
Henry County was rocking tonight but my Lord, it had to have been 90 degrees in there. They turn the giant fans off during the game because someone thinks they mess with shots. Kinda doubt that. I can't imagine how hot the players were. It is a good atmosphere but wish they would sell programs, do other regions still do that?

8th Region Tourney at Henry County Postponed
That is not true. The following letter was sent out today: 2015 8TH Region Boys Basketball Inclimate Weather Plan In discussion with the National Weather Service, The Superintendent, Principal, and transportation director of Henry County Schools, we have decided to proceed with the following plan for the 8th region boys’ tournament due to the impending winter weather situation. All games for Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5th will be cancelled and rescheduled at this time for Saturday, March 7th. The schedule will go as follows: 10:00 a.m. - Grant Co. vs. Shelby Co. 12:00 p.m. - Oldham Co. vs. Gallatin Co. 2:00 p.m. - Owen Co. vs. North Oldham 4:00 p.m. - Collins vs. Simon Kenton We do not believe it to be prudent to do a split session and clear the gym after the 12:00 game, however, we will be changing tickets after the 12:00 game so anyone who leaves will have to pay to re- enter for a later game. As of right now, we will still plan on having the semi-finals on Monday, March 9th with the finals to follow on Tuesday, the 10th. The commissioner has sent out a reminder that it is in the handbook that when rescheduling regional tournaments, it is the job of the tournament manager to try and avoid any conflicts between boys and girls region games involving the same school. He has said to “avoid the same school playing boys and girls at or near the same time at different sites if it would force fans and administrators to make a choice between the games. This may mean playing the games in a region out of bracket order, and if so, then so be it to avoid that conflict.” With that being said, depending on what happens with the girls region, it may be a possibility that we would have to flip some of the games as far as order goes to accommodate. If the situation persists into Saturday, we will make contact with coaches and AD’s with a schedule change. Thank you for your patience with this situation. Thank you, Todd Gilley Athletic Director Henry County High School

8th Region Draw
UNUSUAL: Only one of the three region "Deans of Coaches" will be in attendance. Glen Drury of Anderson County (longest-tenured coach in 8th region) and Steve Simpson of South Oldham (third longest-tenured) are on the sidelines.....only Jon Jones of Gallatin County (second-longest tenure) will be in New Castle. What qualifies one as a "Dean of Coaches"?

Trimble County 59 Oldham County 39 (29th District Championship)
Wow! 1981 would have been superintendent Marcia Haney Dunaway's senior year. Congrats to the Raiders and good luck in New Castle.

Can Cheerleaders Cheer During A Free Throw?
KHSAA by laws specifically state that fans cannot use megaphones. I agree that the refs have enough to deal with, but when it is right in their faces and the game manager does not handle it I would have thought the refs would.

Can Cheerleaders Cheer During A Free Throw?
Who is in charge of enforcing this rule? I recently had to alert the A.D. to this rule and have him remove the giant megaphone from the front row of the student section that was being used to harass players while shooting foul shots. There was no way the refs didn't see and hear this and yet they did nothing about it. It's my understanding that only cheerleaders can use megaphones

Would You Let Your Child Play on the B Team in 16U/17U?
If I was considering putting my kid on a "B" team I would want to know exactly what the difference in the A team and the B team would be. I've seen programs where the A team went to high exposure tournaments and the B team did not yet everyone was paying the same amount and some of the B team parents felt they were helping finance the A team. I would want to know if the A team was missing players for a weekend would one of the B team members be "moved up" thus hurting the performance of the B team. I would want to know if my child played very well would there be a chance of him being promoted to the A team. The AAU world can be a different one and parents need to ask lots of questions going in and know that nothing ever seems to be set in stone. I would have to think long and hard about having my son on a B team but it might be a good option for some. I agree that people need to broaden their focus on college ball. I have son playing D2 and it has been a great experience so far and he is getting a great education paid in full. D2, NAIA, JUCO are all great options.

All 8th Region Team and Coach of the Year
Absolutely. PE teachers have a curriculum to follow and standards to meet...just as any other teacher. This curriculum not only includes the physical education but health and wellness. I hardly doubt Duvall or any other PE teacher/coach sat and scouted all day, all season while his/her 25-30 students played dodgeball unsupervised.
